1st Angry Birds movie trailer

The kids next door will be so hyped for this, the house is full of minions and birds. But I can't see there being too many more kids like that left. I'll probably go watch it using a free ticket coupon or something. Looks like it might be alright, need to see more first. The birds look weird all movie'd up though :(

They had one almost funny joke at the beginning, and even that was ruined by showing the punchline too early.

Do the kids even care about Angry Birds anymore to go and see this? Feels like so long since the franchise was talked about.

Have you not seen Family Guy?!
At least Family Guy has the tendency to make me laugh most of the time.

Doesn't look bad. That's about it. It's amazing in a way they wrung a movie out of that game.
Man that was horrible I'm surprised to hear people say it wasn't bad, I don't know a animated movie coming to the cinemas off the top of head that looks anywhere near as bad/generic, felt like a straight to DVD movie.

This has one of the best casts for an almost certainly terrible movie
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel would take that crown for me.
So many actors just to have their voices sped up to where it doesn't matter what their original voice was.

Maybe it is because I have been exposed to so many bad children movies that I don't see it here. Smurfs 2 was pretty unbearable.

I'm gonna be the outcast here: I thought it looked alright. Not great, not even that good, but it looked like it would be fun enough to watch. The art and voices were surprisingly good for an Angry Birds movie, too.

No matter how bad it is, it can't be worse than the Minion movie

Yeah, agreed, my mom dragged me into the Minions movie. It was so disappointing compared to the Despicable Me franchise. Luckily the Rifftrax afterwards was enough to make me forget.
If it is at least the original Rio quality, then sign me up.

Im confused, why are we calling the brand of angry birds dead? Angry Birds 2 is doing great sales wise isnt it?

I lol'ed at Peter Dinklage, but then again, it's not like there's a lot of big hollywood movies that's looking for dwarfs to cast, so it's understandable that he takes the big parts he can get.

Good old GAF unjustified hate. Come on guys, trailer looks charming, kids will love it. Period.

Except it didn't look charming. And it lacked humor. I was expecting it to be really good based on a thread earlier in the month claiming they saw something from it that made it look great. This trailer was awful. Visually nice though.

The humour doesn't really appeal to me, which is my biggest problem. Quite a missed opportunity. Watching a 2015 trailer with a Michael Jackson soundtrack is kinda odd, too.

The rest seems OK. Bland, maybe, but definitely inoffensive. The talking birds with hands and stuff are kinda weird, but production values seem appropriate. Who cares if it's a dead or nearly extinct franchise.

It's gonna be completely forgettable... probably. Nothing I would want to watch myself, but it don't think I would be complaining too loudly if I was forced to watch it with relatives or friends.

It looks like a fairly standard family CGI movie, really. Unfunny jokes that have the punchlines revealed too early, fairly charming visual style, and licensed characters that look nothing like how you remember them.

It's probably not going to be a good movie, but calling it terrible from this trailer is a bit premature. It looks remarkably average.

Seems like your average CGI kids movie. Won't complain if I'm forced into seeing it.

Not sure if kids still care about Angry Birds though. They seemed to have moved onto Minecraft.

Honestly it actually doesn't look completely awful. Would probably be an alright watch if you were a child and you like Angry Birds.

Honestly doesn't look that bad; I found a few of the scenes in the trailer charming :).

The animation looks very colorful and detailed, the facial expressions on the birds are great and the humor has potential to be very funny (love how fast Yellow's animation is during his scene).

It might not be amazing, but it looks a LOT better than I was expecting it to be :).

Yeah, pretty much the opposite reaction I had of the Sonic Boom video game.
The first concept art really did look odd not in motion.

Looks alright... Though I think the pigs look little off or weird compared to the birds who look great. Not sure why.
I find it funny the pig who looks like Jack Black is voiced as someone else.

Graphics are good but that's it.
Can't believe how the Angry Birds IP is dying/died so quickly. There was tons of Angry Birds store and stuff.

Imagine if Nintendo, after releasing Super Mario Bros, did a dozen themed variations of Super Mario Bros, and never did Super Mario Bros 3. You can't keep your IP alive on merchandise and tie-ins alone.

Looks like something DreamWorks made honestly just looking without knowing anything.
At least they can talk unlike the Minions.

Guess I was not the only one to see that Red is suppose to be Adam Sandler from Anger Management.

More of a "Poochie" gag re: the story-by-committee feel of the whole thing. :)

ie "This is a 'character'. His character attribute is that he 'explodes'." Now that's some screenwriting.

Looks pretty typical of the Sony Pictures Animation brand. Nice expensive production values, totally flat story.
