1st Angry Birds movie trailer

More of a "Poochie" gag re: the story-by-committee feel of the whole thing. :)

ie "This is a 'character'. His character attribute is that he 'explodes'." Now that's some screenwriting.

Looks pretty typical of the Sony Pictures Animation brand. Nice expensive production values, totally flat story.
I got that vibe from Black and Yellow, but you know trailers. Rio was the same way with the main bird having the only personality. The girl was pretty much just girl and the villain was pretty much evil.
At least Red seems like an interesting character. Hopefully Yellow isn't just that he is a manic pixie character and Black is the big, lovable oath.

This looks good.
I hope it teaches kids on how to manage their inability to express their frustration and anger in a calmer and safe way.

It wasn't that bad. Like I wouldn't go out and see it, but if i got dragged to it I wouldn't hate my life.

Yeah, same. It didn't look terrible as I expected, and probably will have some entertainment value.

Not going out of my way to see it or anything, though.

the animation is great.

The studio behind the film does SFX for all sorts of films, but especially Sony's normal animated output (just the animation for those films, a different studio handles production). They're also credited for 2012, Alice in Wonderland, Beowulf, Winter Soldier, Godzilla, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Matrix, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, and all of the Spider-Man movies.

Looks slightly above your average animated movie. Doesn't look horrible, but not amazing either. The animation actually looks pretty nice.

looks exactly what i expected
Great animation by SPA, mediocre everything else

Dont really get the overly negative posts though. Have yall somehow gone through life never seeing a mediocre animated trailer before? Its hard to work up ire for this, its dime a dozen

So this is really happening? My question to all quantum physicists on GAF:
How long will it take to establish portals to parallel dimensions?

How long till Peter Dinklage is replaced with Nolan North in Angry Birds Year 2.0? Amirite? :D

someone else probably made this joke in the previous 3 pages huh? :(

I hate the brand and the mobile games, but I can't muster up much negative to say about this trailer. Seems like your generic CGI kids movie that'll have some moderately funny moments mixed in with some cringe worthy humor.

Points gained by using Micheal Jackson in the trailer.

That was a terrible trailer. Nothing happened for like the last 35 seconds.

But at least it wasn't annoying as some other Sony Animation movies. And that's saying a lot.

This movie could get the dubious honour for being one of the best Hollywood video game movie adaptions to date and it could still suck hard.

Was honestly expecting more out of this. Angry Birds could serve as a really cool animated franchises imo but this didn't make me giggle even once.

Sony's animation is some of the best I see nowadays. Hotel Transylvania, Cloudy, and this all look visually nice. I can't stand any of the writing in these films though. This one looks like it'll be more of the same.

Doesn't look half bad, to be honest. At least it made me chuckle.

However, SUMMER 2016? Hope the brand doesn't lose what little steam has left by then, otherwise it will be DOA.
