That's a dope Best Picture - Drama nominee list, with the weak link maybe being Spotlight (obviously I haven't seen The Revenant or Carol yet, but all the pre-release buzz has been absurdly positive).

EDIT: How in the hell is The Martian a comedy?

I feel that Scream Queens was worth a nod in the comedy section...., providing that Fox entered it as such.

...., yes, I'm a fan.

Lady Gaga got a nom for her role in AHS? I mean she's not awful but I don't see her performance deserving some great praise.

enigmatic_alex44

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
The Martian is trash so I screamed when I saw it listed as a "comedy" how APT

Can't wait for Gaga to win her category she's been the highlight of AHS: Hotel this year. Queen

Mad Max and Stallone! Yay!

Glad to see Gina Rodriguez again. I'd like to see her take Comedy Actress again but it'd be soooooo cool if Rachel won for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. I'm just elated she was nominated.

Sham that evan peters didnt manage to get a nomination for AHS, Hes been fantastic this year

Gaga coming for that egot

Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical is a travesty. I mean, there are at least three good movies there, but The Martian doesn't even belong, Joy is supposedly terrible. The Big Short is reviewing ok, but it doesn't seem like people are really talking about it. Trainwreck and Spy were good, but other than the strong female leads of both, they are fairly typical Hollywood comedies.

I know it would have been a long shot, but Paddington could have taken a slot here. It's super light-hearted, but it was fantastic. Voters probably didn't even remember it since it was an early Jan 2015 release.

If they consider Orange is the new black a comedy i'd probably consider Empire a comedy too

wait WTF??????

Jamie Lee Curtis nominated for Scream Queens but not Emma Roberts?!

Chanel Oberlin was the stand out character this season, every scene with her was gold. Emma deserved that nom.

Finally, Eva Green got recognized for her flawless work on Penny Dreadful. Hope she wins as well.

The Martian in the comedy category is kinda odd. Also, no Kimmy Schmidt in best comedy series is a fucking tragedy.

Hope Mad Max and Fargo grab prizes.

How do they actually nominate stuff that hasn't even released yet? They judge them based on advanced screenings and stuff?

No Hateful Eight is pretty surprising. As is the lack of a nom for the critically adored Brooklyn.

Considering Joy is shockingly shit.

OITNB is definitely a comedy, especially from what I have seen of this season. The Martian is the one that confuses me.

Fargo didn't get enough nominations considering it outclasses everything else on TV by a considerable margin. It is sweeping through in actual TV critics polls, so I guess that is good enough.

Pretty surprised at the lack of Hateful Eight.

Also no love for Beasts of no Nation, not surprising due to its very limited release.
