I'm sure that gold in archery or diving means a lot in archery and diving circles. I'd imagine that it's probably the highest accolade you can receive as a archer or diver. It's not really the same thing.

That 1500 is a great example of where strategy comes into play in long distance running. That pace on the first 2 laps was nothing and likely put the favorites into complacency. Then came the boxing in of certain runners.
