That's too lightweight a job for Jack. Jack needs a real challenge. Jack'd snipe the terrorists with a high powerd sniper rifle from the International Space Station, hop into a reentry capsule, and be back in time to make out with the Secretary of Offense's daughter.

One thing I'd like to see is Tony vs. Jack as true enemies. Of course Tony would have to die since Jack is the star but after reading Tony's background file, and looking at Tony's behavior through the course of the show probably one of the few people who could come close to hanging with Jack is Tony, especially now that Tony is probably all hardened and bitter from

As for the knowledge that Hippie Heller has, I'm sure it's just what they speculated first, that he told somebody his dad would be meeting him at his house, and that somebody happened to have terrorist connections. Of course, by "sure", I mean that I have no idea and just wouldn't think he's actually been helping them directly.

It can't be some incidental knowledge about the train crash and the briefcase, because the question that showed up on the polygraph as a questionable response had to do with whether he told anybody about his meeting with his father.

Fucking right. My god. I thought it was a great casting move picking up such a talented actress, but she has done an amazing job with that part. Sure, by all accounts it appears that she will likely not last the entire season as a major player (See the death tally above, and fucking common sense), but dammnit if she hasn't managed to be so damn creepy yet at the same time make you really feel bad for her situation. It's a great role, and she better get an Emmy Nom for it, at the very least. 24 is too great a show to have only Kiefer be nominated, and she's been the first supporting player to REALLY step it up in one of these sideplots. It's been stunning television.

In other news, Fuck you 24. Fuck you Brian Grazer. Fuck you for ruining an entire episode for me in the last 30 seconds. I don't care if you make it obvious that someone is bad, and then they are, somehow tricking us out. I don't even care if it ends up that this is all some sort of intergovernment scheme, or they're tricking us out. All I know is that I spent 40 minutes watching great television, a minute seeing a really cool next plot development and then about 30 seconds where my only comments were "Oh god" and "Fuck". I also didn't enjoy the husband's little evil glare. I have trouble enough caring about Jack's girlfriends, and now you want to UP its screentime with another character being involved? Fuck you, yet again.

I seem bitter, but I really enjoyed myself for the rest of it. It was an awesome opening, a nice, easy transition into the next plot (That didn't seem like a transition episode due to the kickass opening) and the Family stuff has remained DAMN compelling television. It is too bad that they went and pullled a predictable stunt like that. Shame.

The ratings are a lot higher than the previous seasons. This season is the best watched yet! 24 will have a American Idol as lead-in for a couple of weeks in the future.

And 24 is still FOX's best watched scripted series.
24 is doing very well in other countries, and it sells like hotcakes on DVD.

Did anyone laugh their ass off near the end of the episode and they were doing the 4 box cut away thingy where they show multiple events going on...and in one box they just show Heller's son getting prepped for his sensory deprivation, and he's just going insane? I laugh in every episode whenever they show Heller's soon with the sensory dep stuff on.....

The son scenes with him in the torture always remind me of this one screenshot from Killer 7.

I chuckled a bit, as well. Heller's son reminds me of Ashton Kutcher for some reason. And I'd like to see Ashton Kutcher tortured.

The ratings are a lot higher than the previous seasons. This season is the best watched yet! 24 will have a American Idol as lead-in for a couple of weeks in the future.

The clip shows don't tend to do so well, though, but alas.

There were questions only about the first season of 24. There, the 13th episode (Last of the initial order) very easily could have ended the series. But, the hype was large enough that Fox continued the series in spite of low ratings. They picked up as the season progressed, and due to the critical acclaim a second season was ordered. And, it's been safe ever since, really.
