$99 New 3DS Black Friday Deal

After you have installed a CFW using the A9LH exploit, you can freely upgrade to the latest firmware and retain the hacked status. The important thing is to perform the exploit first. So hack your OG 3DS, then upgrade it, then transfer.

If you want to hack the N3DS you just bought, which apparently has 11.0.0-33U, you will need to use the hacked OG 3DS to hack the new one. There is currently no hack for 11.0+ which works without using a pre-hacked OG 3DS but people are saying there is now an exploit for 11.0+ (but NOT 11.2+ so do not upgrade without hacking first) which will be released sometime soon, maybe in the next few weeks.

From what little I read, can't you hard mod the new 3DS to downgrade and then hack?

Called 5 different gamestops around 8 am in NYC. All of them sold out within 10 mins to a half hour. Quantity was very low. I just don't get Nintendo.

Fuck them man. There is no reason they couldnt have a ton of these, it isnt a new system.

Im not even looking for one and am sick of their shit.

The puzzles get ridiculously hard in the later half. I never could finish them all.

Maybe I'll give it another go then. I just wish most games didn't force the tutorial parts on the player, with all the cutesy handholding and silly story elements. I know people like that stuff but I can't stand it most of the time, I just want to play, not read text bubbles and watch polygonal characters act.

Still waiting on Walmart to switch from Processing to Shipped (had it at Sams Club originally, but the site was acting up so I switched to Walmart when they opened up orders there).

Got it in when the orders first started that evening, so I'm not worried. Just wanting it to ship already so I don't have to think about it anymore.

(Funny enough I could purchase another one and pick it up at my local Walmart, based on their current local store stock status, though.)

Meh, I don't get the fascination with this one. Didn't click for me... didn't play it much though, but the dozen or so levels I played were too easy.
Takes a while to reach the hard levels. QR code novelty was cool too, but I feel that ship has sailed. It's a charming puzzle game.

Not related to the 3DS, but related to Nintendo: I don't see any black friday deals online for new Wii U consoles.. Did Nintendo really just not put this thing on sale? You have Xbox One S and Playstation Slim models being sold for $250 right now, while the Wii U bundle is still $300. WTF >_>

Searched all over for this and couldn't find it. Checking online, it appears that several Targets still had it in-stock this morning. Went to one, no dice. So I had the lady use their internal Target system to search and a nearby Target had 18 of them. Called the store to confirm and got laughter. The lady says it sometimes takes 24 hours for the system to update the true status. Called about 4 others, basically got the same response.

Don't trust the "in stock" system of Target.

Anyone have extra black 3DS they're selling at cost? =(

I was going to say PM me, but I'm in Canada and I presume you're not (which may not be what you want?). I ordered one online last night and wandered into BB today and they had them in stock so I grabbed one. Will probably end up with 2.

I called as well. All gone. Fuck Nintendo.

Just snagged a white one from Amazon. Can someone briefly explain the screen difference that has been talked about and how I can check which type I got?

Being nonchalant about it paid off. Didn't even look around for deals and then just came across it on wario's Twitter and ordered it with no hassles. Nice.

Ordered one from Amazon. I already have the white AC n3DS so I may just use this solely to skirt scalpers (i.e. what I paid plus shipping to whoever wants it).

i'm eager to get mine because I want to see how comfortable it is in my big hands. if it's not i'm going to try to trade/sell it for a n3dsXL
As a guy with big hands and long fingers, I've plugged in the first 4 hours of Dragon Quest VII and it's been pretty comfortable so far. I like how it feels pretty stable in my hands. I'll try out some other games in my backlog once I transfer my data from my previous 3DS and will get back to you on it. I'm eager to try out Codename S.T.E.A.M and Majora's Mask.
So I'm about to be an owner of a 3ds for the very first time, are there any not immediately obvious hidden gems for the system?

I'm definitely getting all the zeldas and the pokemans, but I have a feeling there's a lot of low key games on the system that don't get very much attention.

There's been a TON of these threads before if you search on GAF. I would give you a long list myself but it would take too long. Will say this: I've heard great things about LBX: Little Battlers eXperience on several podcasts which is dirt cheap. The aforementioned Codename S.T.E.A.M is underrated. Project X Zone 2 is pretty solid (skip the first one), folks here will recommend Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars which plays like Advance Wars. If you don't mind grinding, Fantasy Life and its DLC are pretty solid especially since Yoshitaka Amano did the art for the logo and Nobuo Uematsu scored the OST.

I would highly recommend the entire Denpa Men trilogy since data transfers over to the sequels and this one of those games that gets better with its sequels. The downside is that they're huge time sinks but have so much bang for the buck. Both BoxBoy! games are also worth checking out. I'll PM you a code for Shantae and The Pirate's Curse that I've had sitting around for ages from a Humble Bundle since I already have the game.

In a weird sadistic way it's hilarious to see people on freak out for this price and availability. Didn't realize how much people wanted the small new 3DS.

Man who knew this would be the crazy Christmas item.

I have a n3ds xl so I have no interest but it's a great little system more people get to enjoy!

Fire Emblem Awakening/Conquest/Birthright, if you like strategy RPG, GET THESE GAMES.

Kid Icarus Uprising: Ridiculously fun shooter, and while the ground missions take some getting used to (and I was hopng for C-stick controls to be added in) it's definitely worth a playthrough.

Bravely Default: if you like old school FF JRPGS, this is one to get.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy: Ridiculously fun rhythm game, a must get if you're an FF fan.

Also grab DQVII and VIII (coming soon) and Zero Escape is a unique visual novel-style game. Oh, and Ace Attorney!

How the hell does Wario64 do it, every time? He's a bot isn't he?

That's the secret to how I got one and a lot of shit, I have him and @videogamedeals on twitter. I have them set to notify my phone and I have no problem getting most things with little effort. The only problem is this is the season to get tons of notifications and miss things because of the flood of deals.

I was amazed to come in here and find people having issues when I got one on the first shipment from amazon as if they had millions of them. No issues and one click with credit. Doesn't get easier. Too bad the NES mini is so fuckin hard to get though.

yes! white one sold out but black was back in stock for a second and I finally got it!

I just refreshed and seen the black shipping in a few days.

I also got an email saying there was a price error and my order was reduced to one from the initial shipment. I only ordered one though. Feels like they are ripping them from scalpers so hopefully some of the cry baby reviews get changed. Sucks to see such a great console shit on because people can't have their toy today.

I've been wanting one since they announced it, as I've got no interest in an XL.

But then Nintendo said: "Look, the face plates are super cool, but we're a different market. And now we have clear differentiation between those three systems"

Then 6-7 months later they brought it over for $200 bundled with a game nobody wanted (AC:HHD)

Had they brought over the system by itself for 150, I would have bought one on launch.

But Nintendo is gonna Nintendo

bought a black on amazon, kinda shook that my gamestop order hasn't moved or anything

I can always sell it at cost to someone here when my gamestop order comes in

Got white for me and roommate (my Amazon account), and a black one for my girlfriend (her account) in addition to a white one for my sister (Walmart).

Why the fuck is it so hard to give this company money?
