$99 New 3DS Black Friday Deal

Wish I wouldn't have turned this into a headache for myself considering there seem to be so many! Guess it's better not to put too much faith into regular store employees.
 
Welp, ordered black too. So now I have two orders on Amazon one of each color... i wonder if they'd cancel one of them.

I have two nephews so they'd make great gifts for the boys.

You should be fine. I couldn't even add 2 of a single color to my cart (was looking to get all white systems but eh).
 
Last night I posted on here about scoring a black 3DS after standing in line at Target and braving the consumer horde. I get to my hotel, the damn thing is dead as a door nail. I open it up, reseat the SD card and battery, no love. I go to bed just pissed at this company.

So this AM after dicking around on the phone with Nintendo forever, they sent me a UPS ground label via email. They don't do express replacements, and estimate about 2-3 weeks after I drop the thing off at UPS. For a brand new, dead console, I get to find my own box and hassle of packing it up and sending it back.

For an extra swift kick in the nuts, since it's a "special edition" 3DS, they can't replace it directly and would have to send me a plain black 3DS and go eat a dick.

Please understand.

Couple hours later, thanks to this thread, they come up on Amazon, and I snag one in the minute they're available. Target is going to eat that fucking dead 3DS later this afternoon.

Broken shit ships all the time. There were likely 100k of these shipped, if not more. They offered to fix it. You got unlucky, chill homie.

well, since they don't actually sell the plain black cover plates in the U.S., that would actually make the replacement pretty rare :P. But yeah, I totally understand your frustration and would be doing the same thing.

Nope, the New 3DS switched to microSD cards for some dumb reason. You can do a wireless transfer which would probably take forever or transfer the data to your computer, pop in the microSD to an SD card adapter or card reader and transfer it to the New 3DS that way. The only thing that doesn't transfer over is the StreePass data and the bonus games IIRC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Haha. I'm shipping them internationally.

This is my first time shipping an electronics item directly from Amazon to my street address. Since the year 2000 I've been using a mail forwarding service to do that, but now Amazon ships globally, yay! And since I don't have to pay US tax compared to if I had shipped it to my freight forwarder US address, it comes out cheaper this way. Also Amazon gives an estimate for customs fees during checkout and I don't pay any extra even if my government here ends up charging more.... AAAND best of all? They didn't charge me ANY customs fees for these 3DS units (I think because they're less than $100, which is the threshold at which my country starts charging import fees), in comparison if I were to order a New 3DS XL the Import Fees Deposit is $123.17 !!

My order total for this N3DS = $116.60
What I would pay if I order the XL = $337.85

So yeah, I'm beyond stoked. Trump, please don't ruin this.

Edit: White one is preparing for shipment! *happy dance*

So they already charged you for the N3DS? I've been sitting on not yet shipped since Wednesday and it's on a 2-day shipping. :/ This has me at wits end haha

Yup, charged my card and both orders are preparing for shipment. And I just ordered like 30 minutes ago, haha.

Fuck, the guy who was gonna sell me one seemingly bailed, Walmart cancelled my order, and I'm right back to square one.

Why is everyone so fucking grumpy towards Nintendo? They have to have shipped at least 100k units. There are some places where the big TVs are 5 or so a store, the big phones are under 10 a store, and yet no one's bitching out those companies? The whole purpose of this sale isn't for everyone to get a cheap 3DS, but for Nintendo to push a shitton of units into the market and market their product with hype.

I get it. It's frustrating, but stop taking out your personal nonsense against Nintendo. I got one by paying attention to GAF while watching TV. It really wasn't that hard.
