I don't have a comfort issue but I just can't take the low PPI screen of XL anymore, especially when I can see the individual fking pixels. Figured this would be the perfect time to switch back to normal 3DS.

All that people would have to do, is put both the regular sized New 3DS & the New 3DS XL side-by-side & use the same games, & you could easily tell that the regular sized New 3DS has the superior PPI.

I also never tested to see what type of screen my XL has. Think I'll throw on the black theme and compare it to some old GAF pictures and try and find out.

I'm either going to get a regular n3DS (if they restock) or the Amazon Lime Green XL. The Lime Green one looks gorgeous and I would've bought it day 1 if I felt I had a bigger heads up that it was coming out -- it just kinda dropped outta nowhere on Amazon earlier this fall, and I was already primed for a PS4 Pro and PSVR purchase. However, with the XLs, I don't like the idea of playing screen lottery and potentially winding up with an inferior screen... But I've never really heard reports about whether or not the smaller sized n3DS has any sort of different panel construction.

Any mario land white n3ds with serial numbers YW7012 and below were dual ips.

I have one and it is magnificent.

I have a regular launch 3DS and the PPI makes everything look crisp and clean, especially the text. Heck I was thinking of doing system transfer back to it before the BF news came out.

I'm also in the camp of folks that I've seen here and elsewhere that ordered from Amazon Wednesday night and still haven't had it be charged or shipped. Like some other of the same folks as well though I've also ordered other stuff from Amazon in the past two days that hasn't shipped either so I'm assuming it's just kind of a mess in general over there right now? I ordered Bravely Second Thursday morning, they charged me for it but the shipping status never changed, then I woke up this morning and they credited my card back but my order is still just sitting there with no update. So I don't know what the fuck.

I'm still not super worried about it, but if Amazon winds up canceling it or something when they've put it up (albeit very briefly) for sale multiple times after I placed my order I'm gonna be pissed.

It really isn't that much of an upgrade from my O3DS and really don't feel like dealing with buying all the accessories again. I need to buy a case (and the Hori Duraflexi's are apparently poor this time around and clear looks terrible) a screen protector, a new stylus off ebay, and a new Micro SD card. And half that needs to be imported from Japan. That's going to be at least half the price of the system itself.

Good thing this is my 4th 3DS and I've got an old one on an old firmware to hack.

Now I'm getting this one to install CFW to stop carrying my games around.

What is a good sleeve style case? Trying to make this as portable as possible with a little protection.

It's clear so it shows off your faceplates, and it actually provides decent protection, it's the same one I use on my OG 3DS. Plus it's super cheap. Only problem is this one ships from China so it'll take a couple weeks to arrive.

Nintendo said they'll be making 3DS games for a while now. I think you're safe in 2017 with releases. It has a huge install base, it's not going to go away over night. I think 2018 will be done though.
