Android |OT7| Now With a Whole New Messaging System

The XZs or XZ Premium (if you don't mind waiting)

Xperia XZ

You didn't know about it? It's basically the latest Xperia flagship, like the Z3 was back in the day.

I'm assuming you're in the USA. You have to buy the Xperias out right. The XZ came out October 2016. The XZs (refresh of the XZ) came out last month. The XZ Premium should come out early next month. 5.5" 4K HDR with all the Sony features.

YES! This is what I'm talking about. Great photos. Great screen. "Great" sound (as good as mobile speakers can get...2 forward facing speakers not 1 speaker on the side of the phone). Definitely worth waiting for I think.

The only thing I could find remotely close at my carrier was the LG V20. Which did have some similar features but still seemed to fall short. Or perhaps it just didn't get the promotional push that a samsung or apple phone gets.

The downside to waiting is I'll likely miss the window to trade my phone in which could save me a couple of hundred dollars.

Thoughts on the LG V20?

From Canada btw.

I'm actually interested in the iPhone Edition™ later this year. If it looks nice and has interesting features I'll get it. It'd be a worthy candidate as my first iPhone.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
In display touch sensor. A processor that actually pushes boundaries. Customer service. Won't self implode after a few months. A good looking phone. A fantastic wearable accessory category.

Updates.

Nobody's gonna notice the proc bump really.

Biggest thing about the iPhone is it fixes the core design flaws of wasted space on the device.

I think that in the next 1-3 years processing power is going to be a big issue if this AR stuff catches on, already phones that use the bokeh effect with the double camera push nowadays processors to the limits i cannot imagine if you have to keep the app open for more than a couple of minutes.

There's a high chance that some carriers in Canada will have the XZ premium. Which carrier are you with?

Edit:

Isn't the OT pretty in sync with the releases of the Android versions?

That'd be absolutely insane.

Edit: It'll sell like there's tomorrow, but still insane.

No more insane than the mac cube, trashcan mac pro and the edition watch.

I'd understand it a bit more if it was a supply constrained top sku oled iPhone and that there was cheaper LCD skus.

I'm definitely considering switching to iPhone if they get a notification light and fix notifications in 11. Google is locking down Android too much anyway.

They also need to add something to make use of the larger screens. Splitscreen would be nice and other tweaks. Idk. Ios destroys android on speed tests but at least for me it's way quicker to bounce between apps and get things done on Android than on iOS.

Apple got the chipset and optimization but the restricted and conservative nature of the OS that really holds back all that power lol.

Yeah, speaking of slow their browser needs quick scrolling too. Also let me choose default apps. I doubt they will though. The more I think about it maybe I will stay on Android unless they fix these things lol

Any particular reason to root these days? Other than Titanium Backup. I haven't rooted since Nexus 4.
