Sounds like a new news, new thread type of thing; at least a dedicated one for the islands that are about to get torn up by this monster. This hurricane could hit cat 5 status based on what I'm hearing about the unusually warm waters it still has yet to arrive to.
My brother told me that most of the stores in our area were cleaned out of bottled water and other staples yesterday before the state of emergency was declared. They better get restocks in pronto.MiamiGAF checking in, wish us luck. Buying supplies tomorrow.
Christ it's going to eat FloridaLatest Euro ensemble forecast. A lot of intense tracks near south Florida and numerous tracks that take it right up through Florida.
Probably going to have to go get wood tomorrow or Wednesday

The lyrics for that song work almost too well 🤔Pressure! Pushing down on me, pressing down on you
No man ask for
I have work. I can't.
Bringing along a friend? 😬
How should Raleigh/Durham fare?
Hazel was really odd. You don't hear about too many Cat 1 hurricanes killing 81 people in Toronto... but that one did exactly that. When was the last time the remains of a powerful hurricane tracked over Southern Ontario? I hope we don't have another Hurricane Hazel on our hands.

Holly Springs checking in. Bought a generator after we were without power for three days after Matthew. Gonna get some oil and gas for it mid-week and make sure it fires up.How should Raleigh/Durham fare?
Wondering this too. Saw some models showing it gowing straight up central NC, and I'm worried for my parents
Closest analogue to that would be Hugo. Storm came straight inland and the eye passed over Charlotte. Look up what happened then for an idea.

Also, I'm supposed to fly to Los Angeles (having its own problems) on Monday, via Atlanta.
That looks legit terrifying and would decimate the east coast with a one-two punch I'm not certain has ever happened.

About how far out should I start paying attention to the Gulf if my crusise from Galveston to Honduras leaves on October 1st?
Well shit, good luck Florida GAF. Stock up and look after each other and don't do anything stupid. If you were planning a last minute get away it's probably a good idea to go this week...Water off Florida and Bahamas warm enough to help strengthen Irma into a category 5 Hurricane

Given the frequency of storms and getting even grazed this year and last here in Hampton Roads, I think I'm going to look into getting flood insurance next season even though I'm in Zone X.

Urg. No water left in local supermarkets already. Fuck my life.
There is also almost no wind shear which is just as important.
My god that whole area is pure jet fuel for a hurricane. 31 celcious seas is very, very warm.
