The Footy Show has been axed.

It probably should have been done a few years ago when the Garry Lyon stuff happened but it's still a little sad that it's dead after 25 years.

Interesting. I caught a tv ad for it the other day and after seeing the new panel, I just shook my head and said to the people around me “this won’t last”. What a coincidence.

Last week there were 52k people watching it in Melbourne, with The Front Bar having 277k. There was no way they could keep it on with those figures.

It's rating less than the The Sunday Footy Show (which hasn't been axed).

Well, the new panel didn’t seem to be well thought out. I am constantly surprised at the boneheaded decisions made by higher ups at tv stations. I’d bet they get paid a shitload to vomit out ideas like this too. I wonder if they are ever held accountable?

It was a weird decision. The same show with blander people.

The show was great back when you could still be non-PC. When Sam could be an arsehole and get away with it. Unfortunately he not only can't get away with it anymore, he's also not that funny now anyway.

What happened with Trevor Marmalade? How come they never brought him back?

A good last quarter coming up. Swans looking alright, Dons still in it.

They just dumped him to change things up. Not the best move.

There's nothing 9 could put on that will beat The Front Bar, at least for the next few years.

That means the Bullies are trying to free up his money for a play at another player. Like the Hawks with Rioli.
It gives them an extra million for next season. They might take a crack at someone like Coniglio.

I wonder if Boyd will make a comeback a few years from now if he gets himself right mentally?

He always looked like his heart wasn’t in it, but who knows? 23 is very young.
