no way to restore lost files but I got around the save file glitch by saving progress to a USB stick after every chapter. not ideal but at least i finally got through the campaign with all my MP unlocks, I can also go and copy my save back to the console when they (hopefully) fix the bug.

I was playing Obliteration, I got the bomb and a team mate shows up in a vehicle to pick me up. I hop in and he promptly goes nowhere. By the time I realize he isn't planning on going anywhere, it's too late. We both are killed.
A few minutes later, a new bomb, a different vehicle, the same thing. I hop in and just watch the guy as he goes to get lunch or something.
Ugh. Sometimes I have a lot of fun and other times I just want to flip the screen off.

He might be a traitor for the other team. Obliteration has people switching from one team to the other to sabotage.
Weird when i tried to access it through the PS4 browser i got a message saying Battlelog doesnt support that browser.
Anyway.... fix the in game Server Browser DICE!

The exact same thing happened to me on my Xbox One. I could maybe understand if something was corrupted during use. But to not play it for a couple of days, then come back to a corrupted save is ridiculous... I guess "always on" means anything can happen at any time.

lol. Dawnbreaker has a pretty short honeymoon period. It's one of the worst maps with zero flow and abundant roof camping.
I hope DICE can give these maps a balance pass at some point. Another favorite is the small CQ Lansing Dam, and how the gunship is out of range of all AA. That's always fun.

Did they change it so now when you die, you don't go to the deploy/customize screen until you can actually deploy? Because now they're wasting my time where I can't tweak a class while waiting to deploy.

I haven't tried Defuse yet but Obliteration feels like the worse mode if your team is disorganized (or fighting a team that's very well organized). I played a round on Paracel Storm that was positively AWFUL. No one on our team seemed to even want to touch the bomb, let alone take it to anything resembling a boat. Meanwhile the other team would beeline for transports and have escort boats ready, as well as covering the escape and having people on the target islands to keep away our defense. It was brutal.
This I don't get unless they were part of a clan, and even then it's weird. What could this possibly get the defector? Do they just switch back right before the round ends or something? What if all the slots are full?

Delete it from that folder, restart origin, and repair BF4 install.
This is just a theory. Try repairing first, see if that works.

There are people that are assholes for the sake of being one. Back when I played Rush on BC2 I had teammates the blew up our own M-COMs with C4. I had to make him suicide by making it blow up.

Yesterday I went to start up the campaign (from the third mission) and hey, my saves are gone. So I load up my last PS+ save, which was from the first mission, and progress until I reach the room below the factory roof. And suddenly my squaddies fall through the floor and start spouting every single line of dialogue from the rest of the mission one after the other, screaming like they're being shot at by a helicopter and driving to avoid one except they're underground and I can't take the elevator up to the fucking roof to even start that scripted sequence. So I'm thinking eh that was kind of amusing time to reset the checkpoint, but even going back to the prior firefight, restarting the console, etc. etc. didn't fix it. For some reason I'm still playing the campaign at that point and I progress all the way back to the beginning of the third mission.
This morning I start the game up and saves are gone again. In addition my saves did not auto back up to PS+ so I'm figuring it must have been save file corruption as or after I left the game. So I'm like 'fuck this, not touching the campaign' and I decide to play multiplayer, with which I've had no problems

Pffft. That's why you roll 4-5 deep and have someone in said vehicles you can count on.

Reading all bad stuff on this one---should I take the risk to get it? I give up on games pretty quick these days if anything is "beta" feeling. I plan to do TDM and squad TDM, will I be safe in there to avoid monkey business?

It's not bad until the damn retaining wall is busted. But you're right. The rooftops of the buildings can feel like a massive cluster fuck.
Does anyone have a spare ps4 china rising code they're not using? Also, does completing the campaign get you anything in terms of unlocks? I feel like unlocking stuff is taking way too long. Also, what's this about a "battle pack" unlock? I thought I got some of those but it was when the game was buggy as fuck so I could have just lost them maybe. :/

Siege of Shanghai. You have to blow up the four pillars on te waterfront side. Easiest as support C4 or a tank

I haven't heard a single person talking in any of the games I've been in. I've played a lot of games. Is something wrong with my settings? A coworker said you could change the settings from talk in squad to talk on the whole team or something. I thought I heard someone say something once, but it could have been a ghost lol.

I'm loving Battlefield 4 so far. Honestly I hardly have any troubles.. I think I have had 4 game crashes and quite a few (non game breaking) bugs and glitches. I hope EA/Dice will fix it soon, but it doesn't bother me too much.
I'm honestly surprised that Battlefield 4 receives so much hate. The core gameplay is REALLY good and a lot of fun.
I might grab China Rising tomorrow, the trailer looks a lot of fun.

I don't hate any of the maps, besides Operation Metro 1.5 and Operation Metro 2.0
But the only map I love is Oman. And that's coming back.
I really want Arica to come back, but given how DICE doesn't do flanking options to replace some destruction in Rush... I dunno if I truly want that since I'm sure I'll feel like DICE ruined the map or something.

They'll ruin it by putting 3 helicopters in it.
I don't see how Arica could fit 3 helicopters or any helicopters in it.
More like they'll ruin it by having Cruise Missile UCAV's respawn in 5 seconds from the patch before nerfing that into the ground or something.

Too many of the vanilla maps are pisspoor for vehicles. Golmud and Paracel are two of the only maps where vehicle warfare is dominant (Rogue Transmission and Lancang Dam are okay). The rest of the maps are crap for it. Good luck tanking on Dawnbreaker or Shanghai with constant barrages of rockets from the rooftops or players dropping C4 down on you.
None of the China Rising maps are particularly good for vehicles, Silk Road and Dragon Pass are okay but still not great. I can't wait for Second Assault to come to PS4 so I can play Oman again, that map struck a great balance between infantry and vehicle.
I'd also like to see Rent-A-Server come back soon (once the rubberbanding has been fixed, I have only crashed once in the last two days of playing now). Golmud, Paracel, Oman, and Lancang 24/7.
As for old maps, Wake Island Head-On (two carriers like in 1943, not Assault like in BF3) would be great for naval warfare like Paracel. Laguna Presa, Arica Harbor, Harvest Day, and Oasis too. Guadalcanal is another favorite of mine.

It's more of me saying every map in BF4 seems to have multiple choppers. Dice will ruin Arica harbor by putting choppers in it.
What makes Arica Harbor great is the fact that it's a tank/infantry based map.
What, outside of Dragon Pass, the other three maps (especially Silk Road) basically want vehicles in play.
Conquest or Rush, doesn't matter. Same thing.
@Faceless: Eh... I don't see how those would "ruin" it. In fact, give those to the defense and maybe the first set would be kinda interesting in play. Guilan Pass has no vehicles except for transports and Range is laid out that all of the action is centered around the radar dome, plus I prefer MBTs to LAVs.
Silk Road is annoying because tanks can just camp up on the mesas and rain down sabot+staff on any other vehicles in the match.
Dragon Pass has these damned stone walls, that for some reason, can't be driven over or through by MBTs. Plus it is much more narrow than Paracel or Golmud, I prefer wide-open maps.
I'm just not a fan of any of the CR maps.
Neither am I, but you're talking about vehicle camping and not the map dynamics. I'm talking map dynamics. The maps require vehicles to get around/do things. Which was the intention of DICE. Yes, there's areas for infantry (to make a mix of the two) that prevent vehicles from dominating the entire map, but that's missing the point.
