I just finished the little project that I was working on, but before I head back home I figured I'd write a mini impressions for those not in the beta or aren't feeling the game yet...
First off, I'm a Battlefield nut - 1942 I played the most, Modern Combat on the 360 I played a ton of, BF2, I played it for a few months before I stopped being a hardcore PC gamer...
Feature-wise, I love the game - the best thing I love is how by shooting an enemy or even just looking at someone upclose regardless of your class will light that enemy up both visually and audibly for everyone on the team, no matter how far and everything - it even tells you what class the enemy is, even went as far as to tell me that the enemy was on my six, so that I could just turn around and put a few rounds in his head...
This was how I got a lot of sniper kills on Oasis - the map and screen lit up with enemy dots and I could just pick off the enemy snipers or the foot soldiers running in the open - it basically gives you teamwork without your team saying a word, or using the key commands from all of the old Battlefields - it works great if you're a medic as well - a hurt teammate automatically calls for help, and a good medic can just run up and help him...
The controls are very good - took some getting used to, but I love them - especially sprint and crouch being on individual sticks - funny how I've never thought customizing my controls like that, because I'd go for either/or, and on the left stick only, leaving the right stick for zoom like in every other shooter I play - I especially like how bringing out the knife stabs as it comes out, so you can basically run up to someone with your pistol, and get the instant kill with one button press instead of two...
After the servers cleared up, I didn't have a problem with bullet detection at all - the sniper scope has a razor-thin crosshair, and is dead-on accurate - you just have to remember to lead if you're sniping someone on the run of course (default sniper) - even headshots with pistols, jeep turrets, shotguns always register as they look like they should onscreen - very satisfying, and I never felt like I got screwed over in a fight...
So I'd say that the little sample I had this morning, I am very impressed with BF:BC thus far - love the new features that I really think are improvements over the older Battlefields, and no, I can't say whether it's the best BF I've played, seeing as it'd be crazy to make a judgement from just a few hours of playtime on a two-map beta compared to full games - but I loved what I played - can't wait to get back home to play some more!
I agree that with actual talking and teamwork the experience can be even better - I also hear someone cough as I played, and that was the only time I heard someone talk the entire time - but hey, it's still early...
P.S. - It's great plowing through trees, fences and walls with your tank as you chase someone down, or looking at the carnage of an obliterated base...

Where are you? I was online at that time but didn't see you. Were you hiding?
And the servers are fixed now? sweet, I'll jump right on to play this how it's meant to be played, without the lag.
Was offline the whole time, so when I read that the servers were up, I just started playing right away...
