Battlefield Bad Company beta coming (360)

Eh, they probably only have the gold hunting mode because it's a beta – the CoD4 beta didn't have all the modes the final version had (like Ground War, Headquarters, Hardcore, etc). But if it's not in the final game, I'm canceling my pre-order, period.

I'm likely one of the biggest BF:MC fans on this board, and I can't really get into it. I used to be a fucking demon in helicopters but now it's really cumbersome and sloppy, even when I tweaked the controls to what it was like before. And there's no map on your HUD which means you don't know where to go or what to do and the like. And there's like five different colored dots, one for each soldier... and it took me forever who the enemies were. It's just messy and chaotic.

It's really pretty, though. Seeing a tank (which at first almost looked real) shoot down a palm tree, then having it crash into a house and having the wall crumble is very cool. And there's also sprinting and aiming down the sights (w/ CoD4's trademark depth of field effects).

But, from a gameplay perspective it's not that hot. Obviously I'm going to play some more to get more of a feel from it, but for now it's somewhat disappointing.

I feel the same way. Not as good as BF:MC. If the full game doesnt even have the classic mode I will definitely not be buying this.
 
I find it hard to believe they wouldnt have the normal modes in the game, i think you guys are getting to worried for nothing. they aren't THAT stupid

But for those who think it isnt as good as BFMC why not? I loved that game.

You'll get in, go have a sandwich and try again. It boggles my mind that people expect a beta launch to go off without a hitch, even factoring in the fact that there are way more people trying to connect than expected.

I dont know, at this point im used to EA franchises getting progressively worse. For example that new NFL Street game. It wouldnt surprise me if they dont include the classic mode. The beta feels much more chaotic and less strategic than MC. Maybe its the smaller maps and this shitty mode. A few things that annoy me, the camera doesnt pan around to show who killed you or what area the shots came from. The grenade launcher seems completely useless. The controls are not customizable. They have the sprint button on the left click, the crouch button on the right click and they got rid of the pop up radial menu. Its like they went out of their way to make it as unintuitive as possible. The jeep feels really slow and they made it extremely difficult to aim the gun. You cant go prone.
 
I don't know, this isn't really a BETA.
Even in the splash screen it calls itself a demo.

It seems random whether it works or not. I shot a grenade at a wooden door and it didnt take it down. A half a clip of ammo took it out just fine. I dont know if im just becoming too picky or afraid of change or what. Maybe this game will grow on me.

and guess what happened?


yeah, as i broke the 90% mark freaking XBL was malfunctioning and cancelled my shitty download.

and now? yeah right... my key is invalid now

I've tried both ranked and unranked games, but I've not been able to join a game yet either.

Don't input your code again. Try to re-download it from your download history.

It's funny that people think COD4 is THE shit and pull phrases out of their assholes like "the gameplay just isn't there." Really? You enjoy a PC game in disguise and now you're an expert on the subject? Fantastic.

Go to your download history, have a look in there. Might work.

Good luck getting online. I haven't got in a game either time today and right now I've been kicked to the "searching for games" screen for as long as I'm willing to let it continue to "search".

I tried the MC demo and deleted it after one game. Bad Company is way better than that.

What the fuck? MC was awesome and its still fun as hell.
 
So, is anyone else completely turned off by the micro transactions going on in this game? I mean new DLC created after the games launch is one thing, but they've already got the content made (with its price tags) and the game is in BETA!

I'm not even opposed to the "pay to play" formulas some games use, but in this instance it does nothing for the initial cost of the game itself. It's fucking nickel and diming their loyal customers which is just fucking grEAdy!

If you people support this kind of thing there's no stopping what kind of ludicrous shit they'll be trying to pull next.

I don't even know which way is up.
 
Here is the reason we dont need dedicated servers. Because normally I could just create my own game and at least SEE what the game looks like. But no I have to wait until this works
