You can't join any rooms currently. Ive tried ranked, unranked etc. In fact rooms dont even show up. Just the silly message "searching for games" or something like that. How do they get sever overload like this with a closed beta.

I dont know what you people are doing but I only have to click "join game" like 3 or 4 times to get in one. Ranked quickmatch every time.

Im not even sure if it's illegal... and it's free, and it works on all 360s. Again, I didn't do it, I'm an IGN Insider, but if for some reason, I didn't get into the beta... I probably wouldn't think twice about it

I still don't get it. How can this bring it down?
The EA servers must be able to handle many people logged in at the same time looking for games, considering millions of millions of people have bought the other EA games. And full games are full. A full game can't be anymore full than it already is. So how can a big number of players looking for servers bring it down?
Also considering that the US was asleep while this happened, and I doubt THAT many people had downloaded a big file via torrent that fast.
I'm hoping that it was just a matter of performance issues that would anyway, because it would suck if it kept on going this way. The number of torrent downloads will just get higher and higher for each day.

Except it is illegal. They're illegally reproducing copyrighted material.

Not only that, but it tells you right in the bootup screen that duplicating the Beta falls into that category.

Apparently EBgames gave copies of the beta away on DVD so there will probably be no way to track people who are using that method.

Also I don't think the people who've been burning the beta onto a disc have come on yet so it's probably going to get worse...

I finally got into a room. I really dont like the guns. For some reason whenever I pull the trigger it feels like Im moving in slow motion. Also the gun takes up to much of the screen when aiming down the barrel. Combine that with muzzle flash, a red screen, and you can barely see what the hell is going on. Can you unlock some sort of Red dot sight.

Talk about coming full circle, 12 hours ago it was lag lag and people suddenly breaking through and having a good time. Hopefully we break through again soon.

So I pressed A continously while watching some TV and finally after 20 minutes I felt the controller rumbling. Then I got to play for like 3 minutes before the round was over and the beta froze.

First impressions based on this short round are that my suspicions were correct. Features have been dumbed down in favor of things being frantic and going boom all over the place, instant action and so on. I don't know for sure yet but it seems all a squad is good for is acting as a secondary spawnpoint.

You get like fivehundred tons of ammo too. Was wondering when the hell I was gonna run out of grenades but it pretty much never happened. Perhaps the loadouts are different depending on the class, but Assault gets a shit ton of M203 and frag grenades.

The music has actually grown to become mockful for me. If it's playing I know that I'm not connected to a server, and it's just launghing me in my face with its cheerful, groovy tunes.

I've been on that same screen for an hour now.

You know, Infinity Ward caught a lot of shit with the way they handled the CoD4 beta, but I'm beginning to think they were smart.

Look at the other two major betas, Halo 3 and now Battlefield Bad Company. Both were supposed to launch on one day for everyone. Hardly anyone was able to get in for hours. Infinity Ward lets people in slowly over the weeks and it works great.

I wouldn't call it ugly, but it playing on that Village map, it's like someone smeared vasaline all over the tv. I couldn't see shit. Everything was so blurry and just didn't look right.

The bobbing gave me a headache and it didn't feel like anything had any power to it. The destructibility looked decent, but more like a gimmick than anything else.

You have to unlock it. If you gained a rank just go to the unlocks screen and you should be able to unlock it.

It's a desert? You could go swim in the river though.. heh. It's the better of the two maps, by a large margin. So you'll love it in a hurry.

I can see that, but you need less than half a clip to drop someone. Shotguns, snipers and explosives usually kill in one hit (depending on range.)

Red semicircle pops up at the bottom of the crosshair. If you don't see it, you missed.

Buy it after you level up.

Last time I got on, it froze up at the Searching for Games screen, and I had to go back to the Dashboard to exit.
