Battlefield Bad Company beta coming (360)

I feel like such a badass blowing up walls just to go inside buildings. :lol

I'm having more fun as I learn the nuances of the maps and how the game flows.

I think the lack of landmines and changes to some of the classes confirm this game will not have the classic warfare mode. Hopefully I missed them or they will be added later. If im right then fuck EA and Dice.

Landmines are in the unlock menu. Just level up once and you can go buy 'em.

Too many people just whoring explosives. Seems like I see nothing but people running in, throwing grenades and then bailing or using their grenade launchers constantly. Played another game, didnt' seem to be as bad as before.

I went to play Gears for an hour an a half, come back, and I still can't join - this sucks...

They better extend the beta by a month, or find a way to get rid of the bootleggers like Bungie and Infinity Ward did, damnit...

EDIT: Figures that after I make this post, I automatically enter a game...

Really? Well that makes me feel better. Still, all the marketing, even the logo is centered around this stupid gold mode. The fact that they removed the map wide radar from the sniper also makes me nervous. The only thing that seperated battlefield from every other online fps was the warfare mode.

Grenade launchers are much much weaker vs players than they were in the last game.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KEEP TRYING. I've gotten in on 3 separate occasions today, and I'm comfortable enough to turn off my 360 knowing I'll be able to get in when I want to. Just keep mashing Quick Ranked... it'll let you in.

It's pretty great. Does the whole "Intense Team Combat" thing better than COD4.

Not sure what to spend my unlock point on yet...

Oh.. and the vehicles just maybe? and now the incredibly destructible environments?

Good, they're usually a weapon people abuse. I still get kills with it though, you just have to aim.

... because its been difficult getting in to a game for the first 12 hours its been active? :lol

Ahh beta launching woes. Godspeed DICE/EA.

Just got out of a game. It's pretty decent and the graphics need some polishing, along with draw distance. Feels like console Battlefield.

Bungie extended the Halo 3 beta 2 weeks cause of something like this, so it's not totally out of the question.

Just got done playing my first match. I like it.

It needs some polish, framerate, and for gods sakes I hope the put in some AA...jaggie city. But its definitely a "battlefield" game, and thats a good thing. Sniper rifle was awesome, I was dominating. Also ran over like 4 people classic BF style! I won a bunch of awards and ranked up to private. How do I unlock stuff though? I want the laser target.

I can't get a game that's not in that damn village map. I'm beginning to warm up to it some more. There needs to be more feedback when you get shot. The screen turns gray and then you die. Other than that and the lack of oomph in the weapons, it plays pretty fun.

If you go to Custom match you can choose which map you want to play at, Ascension is the village map Oasis is the wide open desert.

Yuck. I just played five or so games, and I really don't like the game. The shooting mechanics are pretty bad, and the gameplay just feels bleh. This is not Battlefield.

I'm hoping that sometime soon I can play this game normally again <_< Seems a little slow tonight.

Also, the PMs have gone out, enjoy guys.

I wouldn't call it ugly, but it playing on that Village map, it's like someone smeared vasaline all over the tv. I couldn't see shit. Everything was so blurry and just didn't look right.

The bobbing gave me a headache and it didn't feel like anything had any power to it. The destructibility looked decent, but more like a gimmick than anything else.
I agree with everything except the destructability being a gimick. It keeps people from camping, makes snipers really work, and gives you multiple ways to get to the gold. Framerate needs work. It seems to run in the 20's in the beta.

Well, that was just the frustration talking, but for a moment I was literally just tapping the A button for this thing to connect...

If anything I did acknowledge a whiles back that it probably isn't their fault, just the extra bootleggers causing extra wear on the servers...

Just got in a game on my first try...

Stayed for about 2 hours, only to realise that this game is fuckin awesome.

Now THAT is how you make a console battlefield. Not like that MC crap !

I pretty much only played Recon and Assault, and I love the sniping ! It's pretty easy, compared to other console shooters, I could actually get sniper kills in this one !

When players are really far, I needed to shoot 3 meters in front of their running direction though... I dont know if it was due to lag or to realism.

The sounds are awesome.... I think the sound is the best in any 360 game yet. You really feel like youre at war, unlike in MC.

Destructibility is pretty awesome, especially playing as a sniper, it ca get pretty nerve racking when a tank has spotted you !

Fog kind of sucks, but if it takes that to have those huge maps, I can endure.

Also, the helicopter is pretty easy to pilot, whats wrong with you people ? Left stick is to control height, and right stick to control direction.

So I have a few questions :

- How many maps in the final game ?
- Is there gonna be planes in the final game ?
- In the medal section, what does "IAR" mean ?

thats pretty much it.

It seems that the idiots follow Battlefield no matter what game it is. Jump in the tank this morning wait for the infantry to disperse. Then I start moving forward a little bit, some douce decides lol tank I will walk in front of you – and of course it’s a tank there is no breaks but I let go of the A button and bam he gets run over.

So for the rest of the game, what does this douche do? Decide to team kill me over and over again, we had this shit back in the demo of BF2 and can’t believe its still around, what a fucking tool bag.

Other then that the game seems a little sparse and the “geomod” thing is a bit useless.

Ugh, they aren't quite there yet man. It's muddy, confusing, and overly action oriented for the ADD crowd. Most if not all my beefs with the game come from them trying to piece it together for the idiotbox kids when they pretty much don't have to. Like auto putting me into squads. How is it SO hard for console gamers to be able to do that themselves. Last time i checked thats what a party is. But those are just minor beefs from a Battlefield fan. It's an aight game. The controls could be more crisp like the big guys do it, but at least it's more visceral than any other game out there. After weeks of the thin, puffy effects in CoD4. To shoot some weapons with jagged cocks on em feels good.

It's a console game, it's going to have ADD oriented game play.. and it's pretty good.

oh and... the soldier combat has never been good in any Battlefield game known to man, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Well I'm 95% sure that there will be a party system where you will be able to form a squad with your friends and go from game to game together... actually there was a press release or a blog update about this today, if you look the past pages, you will find it.

The controls are OK I think, and how the fuck cant the guy 2 posts over can say that Geomod is useless ? Sericously, it's usefull as hell and completely changes the gameplay !

People keep walking into my line of fire in this game. When I got on that gun that remotely bombs places I ended up with negative 50 at the start of a match because tanks near enemies would drive through my stuff.

Game was super confusing at first, and still kind of is. The lack of a map on the spawn in can leave you really disoriented, and the maps are repetitive and large so it's hard to be able to tell your relation to the enemy on maps, and will continue to be until you learn them in and out.

I like the game a lot, but it doesn't seem at all balanced. I unlocked some stuff but I have no idea how or if I can access it.

I know, but some of those small things like the mentioned squad tweak. and the ugly, simplified UI doesn't have to be that way. It's not like BF2 is so deep and mind boggling that kids will slit their wrists instead of fixing themselves into appropriate squads and formulating some strategy.

Plus the BF2 gunplay wasn't that half bad. Actually, I loved it. I tried to avoid vehicles as much as i could.

I'm pretty disappointed. I loved Battlefield 2 on the 360 and was really hoping for something with a similar feel in Bad Company but it seems to have gone from somewhat realistic in 2 to generic run of the mill stuff in BC. The destruction is pretty cool but I can see the novelty wearing off after a few matches. I also got a small chuckle at the crappy weapon sound effects.

This is a beta and you're clicking on "Quick ranked/unranked" which assumes you want to jump in and play. Friend-based squads will be added in the main game.. they just don't want people going all lone wolf and not using the squad spawn in feature. BF2 isn't that deep, but it is a bit slower and larger.

The gun play BF2 was terrible.. just like in BCBeta - bullets don't register as well as non-vehicle oriented games.

How early is this beta? because I thought it was pretty bad in the three games I played (it could have been more, but I had no fucking clue what was going on). I will use Battlefield Heroes as my Battlefield fix until BF3 comes out, but this I didnt enjoy at all. I should add that I didnt like Modern Combat either, but BF1942 and BF2 are my favorite online games, so yeah.

There is no way to know that you are about to be killed, what killed you, or anything. I would be walking and without any audio or visual notice, and some jeep apparently runs over me (I should add that there is no sound other than the voice saying shit over and over). I thought I was doing bad, but I was pretty high up on the score board, so either everyone is also really bad or skills needed to win include being confused and shooting anything close enough with a red marker above their head, because you sure cant tell that they are the enemy from their tan appearance.

The two worst aspects I think are that they use different sensetivity for horizontal and vertical aiming. I thought developers realized this shit doesnt fly anymore and hasnt since the N64/PS1 days. The second worst is that when your jeep or whatever is damaged it starts beeping really loud.

Finally got into a game. Died a lot without doing much. Got better. Started doing good. Then the game freezes on me.

Anyone have a link to where EA is accepting beta feedback? I'm annoyed at having to pick your kit every new match, as I inevitably forget that fact and wonder why there is a tank looking at me and I don't have a rocket launcher.

I just had a game with probably the dumbest team I've played with yet - like they had absolutely no clue what to do - we were on defense, and every damn time the other team set charges on our gold it was either me or another guy that had to defuse the charges, while everyone else just ran around killing or getting killed...

Because of the fact that me and the other guy put up so much of a fight, the game took as long as it did, but our loss was inevitable...

Damnit.
