Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

I'm shocked the Mechanic isn't higher, the grenade launcher and spawn beacon just seem invaluable to me in Heist, I would assume the same for the other modes.

I have no idea how I killed the 2nd guy with my frag, he dies like 2 seconds after it blows up and kills the first guy? Last guy was just a victim of waypoints. ;P

People dont respect the Mechanic anywhere near enough.

Mechanics have:
  • The K10
  • Sabotage - If you dont use this in heist you are missing out.
  • Spawn Beacon - Invaluable in most modes, Heist and Blood Money especially.
  • Greanade Launcher
  • Repair tool - Smart players have limited its usefulness, but early days of Hotwire this was everything.

Don't forget about Armored Insert, it's good, really good.

Yea, I personally think they have far too many good things. I want to use the other classes as well, but not having the GL is really hard to swallow on most maps.

Got a sweet savior the other night as well, lol.

I love the game, but I wish I had a group to run with. I can only handle so much incompetence from my teammates before I quit every night, lol.

Mechanic should be higher, but Medic is default, and has a rifle.

SMGs are beast in this game, and P90 is the only weapon that could let you easily kill an entire squad with one clip.

But, whatever, I got my platinum. Felt so burnt from not playing the mechanic. Shitty ass trophies forcing me to play sniper and enforcer.

Any impressions on the PS3/360 versions in terms of content, like missing modes and such? I only know that player count is lower, but did they tailor the maps accordingly? On PS4 they're often too big for that player count, I don't want to know what's the situation like on PS3 if they didn't.

Also, who was the studio that ended up working on them?

The OT only has 40 pages so far? I was thinking about picking this up today but the hype doesn't seem to be strong. Maybe I should wait for a price drop.

While the hype here isn't huge, the servers have stayed well packed and the game really is fun if not groundbreaking.

If you can deal with a physical copy it is down to $39 for PS4/XB1 on Amazon.

Not much to say really,

It's the least issue filled BF game ever.

Yeah, it works pretty well outside of shitty framerate in 64 players servers.

Also, I still have the problem where for the criminals the orange unlock indicator won't go away anymore. I even tried a new save and the problem still persisted (seems to always be for the faction where I tick off all unlocks last). I know it's stupid, but it annoys me a lot.

Surely lttp here, but Riptide has what must be the cheesiest Blood Money spot in the game

As long as you stay near the wall the enemies on the main roof can't shoot you and will have to come down the ladder--you can easily watch both this spot (image) and the money. Just a matter of waiting for enemies to fill up at the stash. Kill them, jump down and take the money they worked so hard to steal. Obviously if the other team decides to get you down they will, but for some reason it seems you can operate up there with impunity most of the time.

Played on 360, I thought it was still a solid experience.

All the content is there minus the 64 players obviously, although they did manage 26 players instead of 24 this time.

Conquest isn't as much as a clusterfuck with less people.

So yeah overall solid experience on last gen, game doesn't look that much worse on the older consoles either.

64 man TDM on The Block is hilarious.

The Block is special, but TDM in general is hilarious in this game. Figured I'd jump in and grind out the camera coins (cutting edge tactics!)--nope. It's basically 50 people doing the same thing, trying to stick cameras everywhere and getting killed in the process by a handful of dudes with 100 gold star M16s who are actually like, seriously playing the mode. Assholes.

Feel like some of these assignments could use a little tweaking! DID make some progress on the "500 kills with that one stupid boat" though:

Aww yeah.

You can get like 3-4 camera coins per match in Riptide TDM without murdering your stats at all. The spots I used, it felt like very few people used them so other sniper's cameras didn't affect mine at all.

I can try and mark them with ms paint on an image when I get home, but if you try it you'll figure a few spots out of your own I bet. The key is learning where people spawn and putting cameras that cover as many of those spawns as possible.

Thanks, I'll take all the help I can get! Here's the map if you need it.

When I tried on Riptide there were so many placed around the outskirts that I just went and stuck them on the mansion itself, covering (in my mind) the area around one side, then I'd go and actually play on the other so as to not sabotage the spots, but I'm clearly going about this the wrong way w/my three sad coins.

Just can't find a mechanics weapon I like. Mp5k (the one they both have) is alright and the k10 tears stuff up but I like the option to have a little range. I play the actual class great with the spawn beacon but im crap in any actual combat with any of their guns. Only seems to be this class.

Any tips or gun/attachments for each class?

Personally im thinking I may try enforcer next just to try it out. Not a fan of assault at all this time around, think im just burnt out on being a medic role. How are the battle rifles, I hear terrible.

Thanks, I'll take all the help I can get! Here's the map if you need it.

Map:

I numbered them so I could pair a SS of that area with the dots on the map and you can see in which direction I put them.

Camera 1: This one goes on top of those bushes.

Camera 2: On the ground looking in that direction.

Camera 3: Also on the ground, should be on top of that hill looking in that direction.

Camera 4: Won't do as well as the others and so it's not as important.

Hang around camera 2 and 3 with a DMR and you will get a lot of kills while getting these coins. The only bad part is actually getting the cameras to their spots, since it's possible to get really bad luck with your own spawns.

I rarely ever see anyone place a camera at spot 1, but 2 and 3 I've seen other people place them there, shouldn't be a big problem tho.

I hope this help, I couldn't believe how fast I got this done when I did it. This might change when they fix/change the TDM spawns in this upcoming patch, since it requires people getting into shitty spawns and killed very fast for you to get the assists lol.

Long time BF player, and lover of Conquest mode. I've tried all the Hardline modes, but avoided Hostage Rescue. Decided to give Hostage Rescue a try last night, 4 hours later I can honestly say I had a blast.

Looks like "Rent-A-Server" Is returning for console platforms.

"In addition to this, we’re adding the Rent-A-Server program functionality for all console platforms with this patch, so players can customize the multiplayer matches to their liking and then invite their friends to play."

Didn't mean to bump the beta thread. Fuckin on mobile. Anyway.

Any multiplayer advice from those that are good at it?

What mode?

I play Heist only, I find putting a suppressor on your gun in BF always leads to easy kills. Flanking works so well in BF, the silencer just makes it that much easier. It's important to control your gun, so pepper the trigger instead of keeping it held in.

Other than that, just basic stuff like checking your corners and behind you ever so often. Find a class and gun that suits you, and just run with it, experience/practice is the best way to get better. Plus, even if you're not that good at combat, you can still be a huge plus to your team from reviving and placing spawn beacons.

I feel like I lose 90% of my 1v1 engagements, even if I shoot first. I don't get It.

I also feel like I die A LOT.

There hasn't been a class that's clicked with me yet.

Oddly enough, I was actually pretty good at bf4. I'm struggling here. I pretty much play all respawn modes.

What weapons are you using? The ACW-R is rigged if you have that, definitely the easiest weapon to use. The K-10 on the mechanic is great too. I haven't found a weapon on the Enforcer I like, maybe I suck, but the HCAR and other weapons like it just have way too much recoil compared to their TTK, IMO. For the sniper class, I prefer putting a Holo on a Socom or something, 3 shot kill, good for range fighting.

I'd suggest running mechanic, using the spawn beacon to help the team, and using the launcher to take out the enemy vehicles. I see so few people using the GL, I don't get it.

Oh, and like I said, you don't have to be the slayer, to be a hero, hahaha.

2 tickets left when I died, then he died as he was reviving me, I know that team was beyond pissed.

Oh, and...breathe.

[helpful stuff]

Thanks, I'll give it a shot and report my findings!

Maybe try the UMP?

Just started using the battlerifles, what grips are recommended if im using a red dot sight?

Angled grip/compensator makes them much more manageable, though the HCAR will still kick if you don't burst fire. Apparently they're going to tone down the vertical recoil in the future (below), which is a little scary as the SA-58 is already beastly.

From the Hardline reddit: Highlights from Twitter Q&A with Thaddeus Sasser (featuring Fersis!)

jordyvanhuissteden on reddit said:
- Private servers for consoles are arriving in the first patch

- Rep 4 will change (will be made easier), but not in the first patch

- Spawn points will be fixed in the next patch (duh) (''The guys looked at the setups and made changes to the schematics.'')

- The devs have talked about supporting TDM size of both 32 and 64, not in this patch though

- Conquest tickets increased (CQL 999, CQS 600, for all maps the same ticket number now)

- Major improvements to the camera's and the camera coins, but not in this patch

- Server browser for squads is on the list, not close enough yet though

- Hinting to Rush coming to BF Hardline?

- Gun bench and masks for premium members are 'coming', 'some sooner than others'

- They are looking at hardcore health

- More points for pilots is on the list but low priority

- Battlepack reward for the community mission is out now

- Bloodmoney will be updated to not play the same map twice every time

- Battle Rifles will get about half the vertical recoil they have now

- Gold knifes not counting for assignments is a bug

- Plans for making pistol only a server option

- Seperate auto aim options to turn off high on the list

Not really a huge fan of changing the CQ tickets tbh (though Derailed clearly needed a bump--not sure what they were thinking in that specific case). One of the things that sets Hardline apart from the main games is that it's focused and fast. If a match isn't competitive, it mercifully doesn't devolve into 15 minutes of one team just getting stomped as they're stuck sniping out of their spawn. As it is now, you'll get situations like that on Hollywood Heights or Bank Job from time to time, but it ends quickly and you're on to the next round. Not a fan of this change that I haven't experienced yet!

I am happy to see they are adding a pistol only option. I had a lot of fun in pistol only servers last week (they were configured so people would get banned for using anything else) but official ones would be even better!

Medic is probably the easiest class to play, run the acw or m416/m16, once you get some attachments all 3 are easy mode at most ranges. What sensitivity are you playing with? With ttk being so low whoever gets the first shots off generally wins, so I play at around 70 sensitivity. Aim for center mass and let recoil carry you towards the headshot.

Also how often are you firing from cover?

Anybody have a list of all of the in-game radio songs in this game?

One of my buddies was getting really mad at one of them and I want to torment him a bit but I can't find the song anywhere.

Pretty sure it was a rap song and the chorus is something similar to "I'm in yo neighborhood"

Death Grips - Hacker(?) If not, there's a list here.

In other (probably month-late) news, today I learned that you can get up on top of these isolated tree cluster/mound of dirt things:

If you try to land a chopper on them you die instantly, but on foot it's fine. You can even set beacons up there. Interesting/helpful? Not particularly!

Games fun but I've been playing it so much im burnt out already. Whenever the new maps come out ill play again. I mean ill still play here and there but ive logged in a lot of hours. Time to take a break I guess.

The novelty has worn off for me. Heist, Blood Money, and to some extent Hotwire, were a lot of fun. The lower TTK and the snappier soldier maneuverability were really refreshing as well. Personally, I think those are the things that this game does better than BF4.

I just can't look past the horrible, unfitting setting and presentation. Also, going back to BF4, I was amazed by how much better the visuals are there.
The unbalanced guns aren't that big of an issue for me; I'd even say that in my case BF4's are a bit too balanced, since I can never choose what weapon to go with, lol.

If BF4 didn't exist, I'd keep Hardline, but both of them simply don't need to be in my library. BF4's updates will hopefully keep me satisfied until Battlefront hits.
Hardline might still have a chance if its DLC turns out really good and I can buy it in a bundle for cheap in the future (though if Battlefront is amazing I'll probably stick with that only).
