I had that, too. While I really like infantry gameplay, I found myself really enjoying driving around in a tank in BF4 today, it's just nice to have the option.

And yeah, it's still pretty active. It would even be a lot more active if DICE could get their shit together with the server situation. If you enjoy Conquest Large, you're good to go. But to find a server with DLC maps playing another mode is harder and most of the time impossible. I have yet to find a single Rush server that cycles DLC maps and has the settings (tickets etc.) untouched, same goes for any other mode.

I can definitely see why someone would/could get tired of Hardline.

I've been interchanging between 4 and Hl, both different games, good and bad in their own ways.

But dat framerate in 4, eeeeesh.

Every time I say that in the BF4 thread, people tell me the framerate in 4 is "absolutely acceptable". I don't see that much of an improvement in Hardline's modes with 64 players, and I wish EA would let go from the idea that 64 players is BF's killer feature.

I'd really love to see some graphs showing which modes are the most popular in Hardline. I bet it's the new ones that only have 32 players on the server because those run smooth as butter and aren't as much of a clusterfuck.
A Battlefield game with modes designed around that player count is the holy grail for me, and would have suited BF4 on consoles, and especially Hardline, much better in my opinion.

DICE released some stats a couple of weeks back.

Top 3 was CQ, then Hotwire and then Heist.

And Kama, yes absolutely worth it at that price but it's not a traditional BF game, just remember that.

Just loaded it back up. Wow graphics are so much better.

As for hardline, do you guys play conquest in 32 (do other maps like grow house show up or the block) or 64? I think that 64 conquest is maybe whats ruining hardline for me. Seems so chaotic and almost not fun.
I've given up on 64 the first week, I quickly came to realize these maps are designed around 32. So much more fun. Block and growhouse show up in 32 yes. I still like blood money the most and heist I think maps are primarily designed with those game modes in mind.

Framerate goes to 4 player splitscreen N64 Perfect Dark levels during most Levolutions on BF4. Hainan Resort is the worst if you are anywhere near the hotel when sides collapse. I went back to BF4 also. I just like it better.

Got the coins I needed by sticking the cameras on three sides of the 'B' building on Everglades conquest of all things. Feel like an asshole, never got to use Tubie's strats, but I appreciate the help all the same.

Now on to the shield coins!

Can someone tell me what that noise is in the 2nd video before I cross the street? It sounds like a robot dying, I hear it all the time, but have no idea what it is, lol.

You get that noise when spotting is "overheated" but you're still trying to use it. Not sure on the specifics (and it has always seemed a bit temperamental) , but there's supposed to be a little cooldown period after an unsuccessful spotting attempt to prevent people from just randomly spamming it all over the place.

Hopefully that's what you meant. That high-pitched noise later on in the video is the bird from Mario Kart 8.

Makes sense! I spam the fuck out of spot, lmao. I think spotting gets me killed in close engagements, but it's such a reflex for me now, I can't stop.

Is there a way to get those "Suppression" and the "Precision" Battlepacks without buying the deluxe edition? This sucks so much. There are not many weapons in the game and they decide to lock them for the standard edition...

They are honestly not worth it. The only weapon that's decent from the packs is the ACWR, but the M16 and M416 are both much much better and you can earn the money to buy those very fast.

RIP K10 era

1 bullet more upclose will do nothing to the dominance that gun has up close, it just shoots to fast.
The end damage get's a huge nerf though so after 30 meters you wont kill anything.

The FMG 9 get's a huge buff, i'm excited to see how good it will be.

Pff UMP is where it is. :P

UMP is really good, does more damage then any assault rifle. It's like a mini battle rifle in this game, i love it

Just started using the battlerifles, what grips are recommended if im using a red dot sight?
Angled Grip + Compensator - Now you have a gun that can actually be used.

I welcome the MPX era (for Mechanics).

MPX and UMP are my go to guns while im weening myself off the K10.
I honestly dont know which one i prefer.

Though the K10 is still gonna be a damn beast in close range.
Still havent unlocked the FMG9.....i frikken cant get to rep 4 once, let alone 10 times.

Any advice on Rep 4 for the mechanic? Game mode, tactics whatever.

The worst map design of any BF game, terrible fps, major changes to the game months or a year after launch that don't make sense or are just bad(red dots, damage, gun handling), stupid features like visual recoil, netcode that wasn't upgraded for current gen and is still terrible.

All this and more are reasons I will never touch BF4 again, although I've already spent over 1000 hours on it and am currently thrilled with Hardline. CQ large never gets old on these maps, the other modes are a lot of fun as well(I don't play TDM or the small modes). I can understand people going back to BF4 for the vehicle play, but there is really no reason for me to touch that game anymore.

Pssh engineers, always wanting more.

I'd say Comp and Stubby over angled since the first shot multiplier is already so low.

We only ask for what we deserve.
Engineers for life!

Really.
Both the SCAR and the SA have pretty heavy first shot muzzle climb, i tried with the stubby but on consoles that first shot can be really jarring, i guess you can eventually get used to it and plan ahead, but why bother when you can just put the angled grip and solve the problem.

Ill test with the stubby more later and see how it goes.

Honestly I think this game finally got class balancing right. Engineers get the overall best close range guns and have an option of body armor to survive running around larger maps. Also how they are going about balancing guns in patches seems to be better than DICE for BF3 and 4. The K10 will still be a great gun at close range, but that one point of damage making it 4 shot kill instead of 3 will change it enough to stop it from being ridiculous.

The first shot recoil for all the BRs is 1 so it should be the second shot recoil you are feeling. The accuracy bonus from stubby is really helpful in countering the negatives of the compensator and you end up with an accuracy bonus.

The damage buff to BRs should really help a lot.

Finally started the game after getting it on day 1. My internet was acting pretty dumb so Ive been in single player mode, story is pretty interesting and I love the next time on hardline thing.

Miami looks so dirty though :/ and driving, its so odd driving in games that arent racers, I just cant get these controls at all.

At first I didn't think you were right so I went to symthic to check, and it's actually true, damn. I was 100% sure the BR had insane 1st shot recoil, so I've been using angled on the SA and the SCAR all this time...

550+ kills with Battle Rifles later I realize I've been using a useless attachment on them, lol.

Its been a while since I played with MKX out and all.

Is there a big patch on the way? Specifically I'm interested to know if the reputation system has been adjusted so that tier 4 isn't near impossible to get now.

For almost all the ARs and BRs, I would use comp and stubby. I actually prefer to call it by the alternate potato grip.

First patch is on the 28th, but the rep changes are coming later.

Should have taken a picture but my buddy and I won a Large Conquest game on Hollywood Heights today 1-0. At one point we were down ~100 to ~250 or so but had an epic comeback that culminated with us winning at the very last second.

One of the craziest games I have ever played.

Must be some crazy placebo effect hitting me, cuz with the Angled i feel so much more confident with the SA and SCAR.....damn gotta test out the stubby for a while.

My friend is telling me to buy hardline. I've never been a fan of battlefield but he said that I will get used to it.

I managed to convert some people over to Battlefield with Hardline.
Blood Money and Heist are really unique game types and are pretty easy to get into.
Once i got my buddies to PTFO they are loving Hardline right now.

The only thing is there arent that many weapons, but once you find the one you love, the game can be really really fun.

These syndicate challenges are impossible. I spent a good chunk of time trying to get shield points and tier four reputation and I only got one of each. I hope they think about making those easier.

I find all of the Battle Rifles extremely hard to use, and not worth the effort compared to the other guns, lol.

If you are willing to suffer through them until you unlock the comp and potato, you'll be fine.

What the fuck no way?

If your first shot recoil is 1 or close to 1, that means the only recoil you have to worry about is the normal vertical recoil. After the patch, they will all have around 1-1.1 and the comp takes away 40% of that. The horizontal increase from the comp is negligible for BRs so the only real downside is the spread increase going up 30%. The potato grip cuts your spread increase by 50% so the overall bonus is 20% to spread increase.

You get lower recoil and more accuracy with this attachment setup, but it's really only good for most ARs and BRs.

This game is actually really good. Even single player is decent. Stupid story, but still fun and easy to follow.

It was a mistake to have "alpha" last year. It felt broken and it completely turned me against this game, but what they released ended up being extremely polished.

Switch battle rifles to semi-auto, think of it like a DMR and go to town. You basically eliminate the recoil and drift on semi-auto with these guns. They can be quite powerful and fun.

And it's about to get much better tomorrow with the patch. I really hope the TDM spawns actually get fixed. And higher tickets in all Conquest maps should make for better/more epic matches.

But if you use them like DMRs you are much better off using the actual DMRs instead, since their rate of fire is much higher than the BRs in semi auto mode.
