Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

UK charts.

"Battlefield Hardline has secured a third week at the top spot of the UK Video Games Charts despite sales falling by 40 per cent week-on-week.

Meanwhile, sales of GTA 5 were up 35 per cent - enough to see the game climb two positions to No.2. Bloodborne falls one place to No.3 after suffering a 55 per cent drop-off.

FIFA 15 continues to perform well as it climbs to No.4, with Far Cry 4 moving up three places to No.5.

Last week's biggest new release Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin debuts at No.8, although New 3DS exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles 3D lands way down the charts at No.27. The Sims 4 expansion pack Get Back To Work debuts at No.18, although a significant amount of sales are likely to be digital and therefore not accounted for in today's charts.

Other big movers this week include Destiny, which climbs ten places to No.10 after being discounted to £15 at Amazon, with Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Forza Horizon 2 both moving further up the charts following last week's impressive Xbox One bundles.

I really want that patch to come out already. RPGs really break Hotwire completely, and I don't think their fix will make things much better, but we'll see.

Uhm removing and reducing the RPGs is a awful idea IMO. Im already pissed that this patch is going to change the RPG. Why not remove C4 and Laser Mines? People need to stop crying about every stuff.

Why not rebalance some of the weapons? What about the easy sniping? What about the Scout Elite Sniper? That shit needs to be changed ASAP IMO.

So you want a mode that is about driving and chasing cars to stay what it is right now (basically RPG musical chairs where the side willing to tank their K/D the most wins)?

It really just takes one guy with an RPG car to lock the other side down, I know because I' ve done it a lot. A great way to pad your K/D but not really the way the mode was intended to be played.

Getting the 4th tier perk is almost impossible with out a hacker..I need someone who's willing to play hacker for 10 games and help me get to the Enforcer 4th tier perk 10 times in 10 different games. Anyone down?

It's very easy.Play hotwire in a server of 4 people and you get it.And if you have a reputation boost much better. You don't need a hacker.

In hardline are useless.

+

Even fully upgraded the battle rifles are shit. The maps are too small and fast to really require ammo packs - except for the Enforcer himself, since they give you so little ammo to begin with, so you're really only solving a problem that exists for yourself.

Operators get the best weapons and health packs. Mechanics get decent PDW's and spawn beacons. Professionals have sniper rifles if you want to do that I suppose...

Enforcers are pretty worthless, and this coming from someone whose favorite class in BF3 and BF4 was Support.

Im in the same boat. I had all the past ones up til 4.

I was skeptical (and somewhat angry at the price) too prior to release. But no, the multiplayer is pretty damn good. Once you learn the new modes, it's a nice breath of fresh air for the franchise. And Hardline really is about the new modes.

I have thousands of hours in Battlefield and play Conquest almost exclusively.

The "Guy Over by the Cartel Mansion" is super dramatic :D

And once again it's time for an unsolicited Hardline tip. Let's talk about Blood Money, which is an awesome mode but can be infuriating:

More people interacting with the money pile/enemy vault = faster burn. This is cool, but it doesn't mean that EVERYONE has to gather round the thing at once. No one can see shit, you're likely to get stuck in the crowd and more often than not everyone will die due to one grenade, molotov etc. If there are already people working on the burn when you get there, just try watching their back. It's better for three or four people to fill up and get away than for half the team to die and end up with nothing at all.

That is why they need to do a better job disseminating the pins in this game. Too many points are given to those getting the money and none to those defending them.

Can anyone shed any light or got any thoughts on why games in BF4 & BFH become so unbalanced with one team sometimes having 4 or even 6 more players than the other team ?
People on the losing team are more likely to quit than people on the winning team, simple as that.

What? Enforcer aka support was never in any battlefield the most used, it was and is always operator aka assault.

Actually I think you'd find that support was the most popular class for Titan mode in BF2142. Most of them were prone behind shields the entire round.

I spend a lot of time tearing it up in Rescue even without a good communicating squad, during a match on Bank Job today i make a run for the hostage and as i'm escaping 3 out of 4 of the enemies walk straight into the meatgrinder LOL

i wasn't sold on the lower TTK at first, but damn does it lead to some satisfying multikills

M416 and M16, they are so far above any other weapon, it makes you wonder why they even added Carbines at all.

Carbines serve a purpose. Only they add them to the Operator class who has assault rifles wich always are better. Should make those all kit weapons again.

...Should make those all kit weapons again.

I like that they don't have all-kit weapons in this. Means that each class actually handles a bit differently, as opposed to BF4 where you could just use the carbines for everything (outside of assault, obviously) and have access to all the gadgets without ever having to change your playstyle at all.

One thing I'd like to see them go back to in future games is a dedicated medic class. Give them low-end carbines and take the medic stuff off assault, who have just gotten too strong. Especially in Hardline, where the nature of pick-ups and rpgs/stingers in your trunk means it can be used against vehicles as well.

Agreed, mostly. IMO the BC2 medic was perfect.

Hmmm seperating Medic and Assault once more is an interesting idea.

Only thing I'm worried about is once you de incentivize the medic class will people still play medic as much? To be honest, with the way the Battlefield community has changed since EA started trying to gun for Call of Duty's neck I seriously don't trust most Battlefield players to prioritize team based medic points (revives, healing) over killing people. Hell, according to that infograph for Hard line most people barely even play Support and giving ammo to team mates is kind of important. Plus essentially have infinite ammo in that class.

Does the campaign give you anything that is useful for multiplayer? Cash, xp, etc

You can earn Battlepacks, though I don't know how useful they are. I once got a voucher for a scope or something, so there's that.

I totally see where you're coming from, and while I think there could certainly be a reduction I doubt that there would be an outright medic shortage. Even being purely cynical about it, people like the free points from revives and the lure of being able to heal/keep yourself alive is strong.

Support/Enforcer is in kind of a weird spot in Hardline. The idea of choosing between shotguns for close quarters and battle rifles for more medium stuff is cool in theory--unfortunately while the shotguns have received a nice bump from BF4 they've also acquired that weird registration delay, and the first hundred kills or so with the non-upgraded battle rifles were not inaccurately described upthread as "a form of medieval torture." Combine that with the facts that a) while C4 is always fun, it's just not as useful as in previous games due to even the heaviest vehicles being vulnerable to dinky shit like grenades and b) the smaller nature of the maps and low ttk means people run out of ammo far less (the exception maybe being having a team locked down in Heist or something where there are no kits to pick up). All of those things combine to make that class a tough sell at this stage. Not disputing your point that the franchise has become less team orientated over time, just that the enforcer is a special case here.

My last few games of hotwire (PC) have devolved into each team just camping the cars and not a single god damn person actually driving one. I think I'm just about done with this bullshit. Played 20h so far and trying to convince myself that's enough time to warrant what I paid.

It's harder and harder for me to find the motivation to play since the mode I bought this game for is Hotwire and right now it's almost unplayable. Unless you join in the RPG camping but that isn't a lot of fun to me anymore.

It's sad because the mode was incredibly fun the first few days, without everyone camping with C4 or RPGs or Sabotage. People actually followed you in cars and the fighting happened from car to car.

The RPGs in hotwire can very easily and i mean easily be abused.
Get a Mechanic with the dart and couple guys with RPGs in the trunk....and no one is getting in cars...No one.
ANd forget helicopter backup, they going down in two seconds too.

But i dont see how they could fix this honestly.
Fewer RPGs still leads to one hit kills, reducing the RPG damage will make them almost useless, i think players wised up to the RPGs power in Hotwire faster than Visceral thought, game isnt even that old but already Hotwire is becoming an RPG-fest

This and people sabotaging all the cars over and over and over.
Its like if we never get to actually drive the cars whats the point of Hotwire mode.
