This shit is really getting out of hand now.

The grey pyjama top was marketed in Peter Alexander's children's range, and was spotted by Melbourne mother Bridie Harris in a shop last week. She then made a complaint to the company on social media.

"Boy won't be boys," she wrote on Facebook on June 20.

"Boys will be held accountable for their actions. I hate to see an Australian store, who makes such great pjs, put such a sexist statement on a t-shirt intended for young boys. Excusing boys of their behaviour is not a step in the right direction. It's 2018."

Okay, then shirts with girlpower, or fashionista should be expelled aswell.

Its a sweater with text. At this stage you can even get offended at the mirror for showing your true self.

It used to be that "boys will be boys" meant that boys will get into mischief, tell dirty jokes and get into fights. Now it means that boys will rape and abuse women. And it really seems that it's only been in the last 5 or so years that this has changed.

Crazy times. Kids get into mischief, it's normal.
People are taking this too far.

The cancer has metastasized.

So, "boys will make a mess"... Sounds demeaning.

Demeaning? Nah. My Son used to make a mess when we was playing or getting into things because he was curious. Once there was flour all through the house because he was curious and playing. The phrase is meant in the more innocent meaning.

Let boys be boys and let men be men! Teach your sons to embrace their natural masculine nature without apology or shame.

Having raised boys and girls, it is anecdotal sure, but beyond the terrible two's (in which both boys and girls are a nightmare to deal with); boys tend to make a mess when left on their own. Girls only become a problem when they hit puberty and boys tend to stop being a problem by puberty.

Boys will be boys, girls will be girls, feminists will be ridiculous.

Why does everyone crumble on that ONE person that goes on social media attempting to get the angry mob?

Because it works, think about it. They would manage to rile up enough people to make it seems like it's a big deal.
Whereas the people thinking that pulling it is over the top won't have any reactions to it (at least nothing overtly negative toward the brand).
So in the end this is the path of least resistance for the brand. It is cowardly for sure though.

"'Boy won't be boys,' she wrote on Facebook on June 20."

Love it. Shows the effort behind the complaint to be worthless. Fuck your lack of mental spell check. Hit send!

Its a stupid phrase. Y'all should be glad it's going away. You guys like that phrase? You say it all of the time or something?

Dunno, our TransGAF subcommunity thread was subtitled "boys will be girls," so it seems like a culturally relevant enough phrase.

A large Danish retail chain was recently forced to pull a t-shirt with the phrase "Girls don't shout".. Sometimes I'm amazed what people will be offended by.

It is a harmless phrase and it does not go away because people find it lame but because of fake outrage aka censorship by a public group

It is a harmless phrase, one that has become demonized because of a few overly sensitive folk who have nothing better to do than get offended over nothing.

Does this seem Problematic? Doesn't to me. Girl power = okay. Boy.....boyness? = not okay? Nah.

Tautologies no longer acceptable.

Evidently most of Australia can be added to the list of places where it is now impossible to responsibly raise a family.

Men have had an advantage and Girls are stepping up. Who has an issue with it? And why?
Yeah and girls outclass boys in education, Universities etc since 25 Years. Women in their 20s now earn more than men.

So Boy power is now Ok? Or is it still sexist and misogynitic because today men are seen as sexual predators and need tpo be taught not to rape women and or children.

It's a paradox for me.

If you have the time in your day to be triggered over something like this saying, then you shouldn't have the time in your day to be triggered by this saying.

If you are instantly triggered by this, then everything and anything will trigger you. You would be triggered by all the problems in the world and in terms of importance... this isn't high on the list.

Me... I have zero problems or anger. I wake up happier than a dog that got into the butchers shop and wasn't asked to leave.

But if this enraged me, it shouldn't because I shouldn't have seen it since I was raging over bigger issues.

If that makes sense to anyone.

Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't also called "anti-trans," which would be height of absurdity, yet fully in line with the ideologies on display here.

Some people just really hate males.
