So, yeah, not buying into this CoD experience. In some ways, it was a little better than AW, and other ways, much worse. To express my experience with the beta, I made a video with gameplay I recorded (as well as my voice) via an Elgato GameCapture HD.

Haha man this game kinda sucks... I haven't really played COD multi since MW2, or really much COD at all but I expected better than this! I thought Call of Duty was the gold standard, but Halo still has that crown even though it will never have Call of Duty numbers. Even Destiny's shitty PvP is better than this.

It looks ok, but the control is weird. The new mobility feels like an early iteration of pre-release Titanfall.

Been playing for an hour. This game is so fucking weird.

Mobility is crappy, those destiny like power ups makes no sense. Map design is awful, I keep falling down because again the mobility doesnt make sense at times.

The mobility is actually easy once you understand it'll run around corners for you so long as you hold sprint/forward. Then it's a matter of managing your meter.

The major MAJOR problem with the Advanced Warfare system/parkour of Titanfall added is that the maps don't REALLY benefit from it too hugely. Yes, you get a few "oh neat" moments from it for all of like two minutes when going around the map and taking routes that wouldn't normally be foot accessible, but that begs the question: Is it REALLY that needed?

I can't get open NAT either, even though it's open on the console. It gets into games fine, but every time I get into a firefight there's this weird stutter or frame rate drop. I don't get it, why would it only mess up when I'm damaging someone?

I'm not sure how to feel about this game anymore. I kind of feel like I've had my fill and that I should cancel my preorder. But I also feel like this will be a pretty decent game once it comes out. I'm not sure what to do.

I think it is doing so many things right. It's only natural I suppose to let the shortcomings stick in your mind as highlights over all the successes. I'm really excited for the final product and am glad they are getting a good data dump through these betas to tweak a few things prior to release.

Talon hit detection needs some work...

https://youtu.be/PdlZxlZe1Y4

The Talon isn't particularly accurate. Look at your shots that hit the wall at the end; there's a pretty wide spread.

The Talon is already strong. If it was more accurate, then you'd be able to kill across insane distances and that'd be supremely frustrating. The key is to get in close. Alternatively, I'm pretty sure that it, like other guns, is more accurate when fired in short bursts. You were firing the whole time as you tried to track that guy. Hence all the misses.

I don't think it's a hit detection thing. Or if it is, I think it's intentional.

My best TDM so far

Impressions on the HUD? From the videos, it looks so cluttered.

Don't really have an issue with it. Can't think of a time where it got in the way.

The supers, however, are Shit and have no place in CoD. Or if they do it, make people earn it like score streaks. Getting tons of 3+ person kills with the Gravity Spike.

You make a good point with the finishing shots spreading quite a lot. I think this should be displayed similar to how spread on other guns is shown, through the spreading of the actual crosshairs. When it stays tight, and I tack the target while shooting, it is reasonable to get the hits. Add some spread to the crosshairs when firing and I'll be just fine with it. As it stands, the crosshairs are misleading.

Do you guys like the map stronghold? I was excited for a new snow map but this one is awful imo. Everyone loves to camp inside the big house and the map has some terrible spawns.

Updated the pc version and tried it today, got the new map and uplink. First game, shotgun was just hit markers at 5 feet away, very frustrating. 2nd game just got a error when the game started and i couldnt press anything till it timed out. 3rd game i was able to play and it felt ok, but then mid match my entire pc literally reboot itself. Yah, i'll not touch it till the next patch i think.

This is the worst COD I've played, the best being MW, MW2, and Blops2. AW seemed to add new life to a tired series but this is the nail in the coffin for me. It's funny just how quickly I die after spawning. Think I prefer longer fire fights, with a ttk between BF4 and Halo being perfect range. And don't get me started on the movement.

I really dont see all the issues people are apparently have had...the game doesnt look that much different from the ps4 beta...there is no slowdowns and the game has actually been a smoother experience for me lag wise....i could not even play the ps4 beta last friday night

Its made me rethink which version ill be buying

My group i play with are also suprised how smooth things are and we have had b the odd freeze but we got that on the ps4 as well...its a beta

Rejack got nerfed? It was probably the least bothersome specialist ability to me, didn't see the need to nerf it; just shoot in the green cloud of smoke and get a free kill.

You should have played the PS4 beta a bit more ;) Near the end all was good.

XboxOne Beta is still a mess.

If you own both Consoles, get the game on PS4. Its a better experience.

Wanted to use the Xbox Game DVR but you need to have the game in Windowed Full Screen to be able to use the function.. but damn.. the whole game is more crap than in fullscreen.

What a poorly poorly optimized game.

I don't complain fast, but wow, I played the PS4 beta a lot, but this version is way worse. It indeed looks like 720p, I hope Treyarch bumps it up to 900p because this is unexceptionally bad in my eyes. Or it's 900p with really strong FXAA, but it looks like 720p. And there is no reason that it can't run 900p with a dynamic resolution (Like AW)

Gameplay was fine, just as PS4 version, I think this COD is great in the gameplay department, maybe even better than AW.

Rebooted and got a few more hours in on steam, really loving the game so much, reminds me of earlier COD games rather then the last 2 feel wise. The only thing is pc players can move so psycho fast, i can boost past someone and before i can recover they're already turned right at me and taking me down. Disadvantage of using controller on pc, but damn, it feels brutal. I wish i could like KB/M but my hands cramp up hard about 10 minutes into gaming with kb/m and i have to stop. Controller i can go 10+ hours non-stop no issue. Kinda feeling like i'll end up getting this on ps4...

Game is fun

Was running a Haymaker with suppressor and long barrel, too funny
Hit marker galore, but when it works.... oh baby

Thermites are fantastic throw one of them suckers on a rejack, they'll wake up on fire lol

Total opposite Experience for me the ps4 beta from Friday on was basically a slide show with the servers being broken. Xbox beta has been super smooth for me so far.

Because you expect beta performance to be the same as the finished game that will get released?

Holy shit can't believe I am saying this but I am actually enjoying kill confirmed for the first time. A lot more than TDM and Domination.

Always putting up at least 25+ kills and top 3 player.

It seems like its the only game mode where it clicks for me.

BTW that small map is possibly one of the worst cod maps ever made. Soo condensed and small and full of hectic bullshit.

Don't know why they nerfed Rejack, didn't seem like a problem to me.

What really irks me is the inconsistency of the KRM shotgun. I get more one shot kills at mid range than when I am point black in someone's face or back where all I get is a bunch of hit markers.

Really though, if a beta is performing better on one platform over another already, shouldn't the final game have the same performance gap? The game will be out in 2 months.

Felt extremely OP to me, I would have never used anything else.

mucho stutter, afterburner reports 8.2gb ram, 7gb vram at 1080p lol, but my 3570K@4.4 has all 4 cores at 95%+ which is potentially causing the stuttering, certainly doesn't feel like the 100fps + that its reporting, gameplay wise the game is....cod

I can't imagine how bad the Xbox One experience is if you consider that slideshow of a beta on PS4 to be "better".

And advising people to buy a specific version based solely on an early beta seems ridiculously naive. Wait for Digital Foundry and barring any major performance issues buy the game where most of your friends are.

I seem to lose easy 1v1 gunfights in this game. My ping is usually around 30ms.

I'm not sure if it's the extra flinch because of the lack of toughness or what.

I just can't react to anything. A lot of deaths are to players pre aiming from behind head glitches.

I was so excited for the beta, but now I'm considering cancelling my pre order, which is a shame, because that'd be the first time since Cod4.

Haven't played a CoD since MW3 and this beta has been really fun so far.
I guess that is what happens when you don't touch a series for a while.
People who have been playing the CoD series pretty actively...what are your thoughts?

The game is fun when you have a group of friend in your party and the hit detection is on your side. If not the game isn't fun at all.

A bit early to say but I think Black Ops 2 is still the better game. Seems way better than Ghosts or Advanced Warfare. It still plays a little too fast for my tastes though.

That said I wish the PS4 beta were still going cuz I'd be playing it right now.

I didn't like the recent games, but I've played cod a ton. I really want to like this game, but the PC beta is kind of shitty. Balance/gameplay is great, but it's not optimized and the netcode seems to be bad.

I was thinking about not getting the game, but I really want to play zombies as well... We'll see how it turns out.

Just turned on Black Ops 3 beta, see there is new stuff to do, 3 games of Uplink in a row crashed out near the end trying to migrate host.

Ok then.

Better than AW because I didn't like that movement system and better than Ghosts because the maps in that game were too large. I didn't like the idea of there being a boost jump and a wall run but actually the way it works is great. Whereas in AW boosting became integral to the combat, in BO3 it just helps primarily with map traversal. Of course Scuf is still handy to have but not as OP as it was in AW. Hit detection is same ol treyarch but I've got used to that. Maps are great, specialists seem ok though I haven't unlocked them all. The supers aren't as powerful as they were in Destiny because the TTK is much lower in CoD so that's ok. Overall positive impressions so far. Oh I suppose they could reduce flinch a bit.

I love this game, and I'm thoroughly convinced that Treyarch cods are the only ones worth playing anymore. I'm totally cool with skipping cod every couple years and then picking up Treyarch's game from now on.
