Call of Duty Ghosts Next-Gen Gameplay

It would be the best if after jumping through the window the dog unlocked the door for you.

Also wtf at having a gun but using your dog to shatter a window.

As usual this will be a rental. I have a soft-spot for the over-the-top Michael Bay style campaigns. I'm also interested in at least hearing about what this "event" was that has so thoroughly wrecked America. San Diego's suburbs looked like a hell-hole in that one level.

Shortly after that gif, the dog is found lying on the other side of the window, embedded with glass shards and dying. You have to perform a QTE to mercy kill it.

most people don't give a shit about SP and it's replayability

This is a common misconception. Some years ago, like a few...I don't remember, but an IW guy was quoted in an article saying how "50% of the people who buy CoD don't even go online. They just get it for the campaign.". It sounds crazy but he said it. Maybe it's 30-40% now, who knows.

Looks good graphics-wise. Decidedly cross-gen "haze" is apparent though.

Wish they would have selected a 1080p feed with a non-water section.

Also looked to dip below 60FPS a good number of times.

The gameplay looks completely unchanged though. But I'll probably pick it up to have some next-gen CoD action.

Not necessarily knocking the game, but could they have picked a more boring level to demo? I mean seriously, that was fucking dull.

Also, they should do fur-shading on the dog. We got that on the Gamecube back in 2002, consoles should be able to do it today.

Honestly we are going to rely on exclusives from both sides to finally see what next gen can achieve. Even if I think this footage is way above anything current gen is still below BF and KZ.

Can't wait for next generation. I'm loving all of these innovative new ideas in gameplay.

So where's the gameplay?

Doesn't look too interesting. Then again I never liked any of the SP footage they demoed in the past for the previous games. Will wait for the multiplayer videos and whatever coop thing they have planned for this game.

This assumes they have something interesting to show.

Whether or not you find CoD interesting (assuming you don't :P) is one thing, but usually CoD campaigns, despite all the scripting, do have more interactive/involving parts than the underwater sequence.

You would be surprised how wrong this is.

A lot of people I know buy CoD for the SP and only dabble in the MP. And this isnt anecdotal either, Steam achievements stats back that up. CoD has more people finishing the SP than most traditional SP games.

Edit This looks dire though. Not just graphics but everything. So bland.

Wow, the two clips I've seen take linear to a whole new level, the other guy literally tells you exactly what to do now.

Perfect example of making a game as good as you can get away with.

I wonder what COD would have looked like today if IW remained as it was and had freedom to do whatever the fuck they wanted with the series.

Q: How is CoD Ghosts like the dog van from Dumb and Dumber?

A: They're both just expensive dog vehicles

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the original CoD campaigns fairly similar, just a little less scripted?

I know I've got CoD1 + the expansion lying around here somewhere. May give the singleplayer a go.

While ARMA, im guessing just has water environments within their big maps that may not get as many details since the map is huge to begin with. COD:G only has to deal with prebaked levels so they are not comparable i would say.

I wasn't disputing or complaining about that. I was puzzled by his "Arma 3 check and mate" talk regarding underwater scenery, which has no root in reality.

The underwater section looks pretty good to me, judging by the low quality(!) youtube video. The series don't interest me, so I won't be picking this up, but I thought it was pretty impressive.

Plenty enough do though.

But lets take what you're saying as gospel. Why not make a full on Spec Ops co-op campaign that can be solo'd? Make THAT the campaign for COD.

No need for a focus on story or hollywood screenwriters. Just awesome missions that you can play solo or with a buddy. Give it loadouts and a progression system and a star rating.

Boom.

I'd offer the same advice to DICE. Take that onslaught mode, refine it, and pack it with enough content to stand in as a campaign.

The fact that neither company is doing this is just insane to me.
