You bring down entire buildings with just few gunshots? Ok!
Did you hear the part where he says that the gun is massively powered up for the purposes of the demo?

And a big rock is still standing in the air at 4:58 while the remaining debris just fell.
I liked the idea of course and what I have seen. Still many things aren't physically correct. I hope they correct them when the game ships.

This thread is a thread of shame, seriously.

Well they said in the video that the weapons were over powered for demonstration purposes, of course you would know that if you watched it.
It's even in the op, if you had read it.
Nope, the sound was low and I missed that. If this is what said then that is fine.
This thread is a thread of shame, seriously.
So is it impressive now?
Or are you still hung up about the one floating rock in a pre-alpha build?
Some posters minds are so locked up, they can't even be asked to do basic things like look, listen, read, or watch any more. Information clearly listed in the OP is flagrantly disregarded.
To think we all supposedly learned these things in grade school. The educational system has failed us, that's for sure :3
Not hard to be skeptical in an industry that focuses their efforts on trickery/smoke and mirrors to get people all hyped up. My position is I'll believe it when I see it as I play the game.
There's always caveats somewhere, but don't expect to know about them until you've spent 60 dollars.
It looks pretty good; I'd wager some people just don't think that it looks that mind blowing. That being said, I don't think people should be concern trolling whether MS can deliver what they are demoing here. I fully believe that they can, which is great in the scheme of cloud-assisted physics compute as a whole. The argument at this point is does it look that much better than the canned physical destruction present in games like the latest Red Faction? I think that it does look better, but not as good as I was expecting.
I liked the demo since yesterday and I was very impressed by it, just those little hiccups did divert my focus of the the global impressive presentation. So if the gun was OP for the demo and those bugs could be corrected in the final game, this will be really flawless.![]()
It's sad that this is such a cool demo, and lots of stuff to talk about, and yet this thread will end up locked because some people can't accept that a certain games company has come good.
So every Crackdown thread has turned into this chaos?
What is GAF now I must say.
Can't gamers enjoy their games and discuss it without the system wars comments and trolling? This is in general I mean.

What is GAF now? It's a place with excellent content, breaking gaming news and a place with some amazing posters and people. Sadly that is submerged in fanboy war drivel that drags the entire forum down with petty point scoring bullshit, concern trolling drive by shit posting and immature idiots.
I stay for the first part and tolerate the second. It's certainly becoming harder to do though.
Its a nice tech demo, and I could definitely see this kind of tech finding a use in multiplayer stuff like Battlefield. Hopefully this tech helps makes Crackdown 3 something special but its way too early to know - hell I don't even know what is meant by Crackdown multiplayer - is it purely versus or co-op?
I mean, why did the guy on stage use the example of players teaming up to take out a boss by destroying the boss's building if that's not the kind of thing you'll do in the cloud-backed Crackdown multiplayer?
This is just sick as fuck. God multiplayer is going to be amazing.Putting up another few gifs from the tech demo because some of this is pretty cool:

Imagine having a bridge drop your head in middle of a match?God damn, the way the individual balcony's fall on eachother.
This game is going to be so satisfying.
I believe this has less to do with Crackdown and more to do with that fact that it's a game that is associated with the whole "power of the cloud" thing which is always guaranteed to set certain people off.

Well said.
Game isn't out yet. Running on a closed environment for the show, remember. Can't not wait for the live test when it launches, with all the fun ass glitch videos/gifs it will bring, lol.
Wake me up when they do the same demo with 50-200ms varying degrees of lag and 1% packet drop rate.
From yesterday's trailer, they said such destruction for the MP. So does that mean that such Cloud Computing Destruction won't be in SP since SP can be played while not online while MP needs the internet connection and hence the Cloud Connection can happen any time you are logged in to play MP while there is no certainty that SP will be played 100% connected to the Cloud all the time?

I would assume a simpler division that makes much more sense: full destruction for MP and SP, but if you drop connection, MP is obviously off the cards, whilst SP is playable but less dynamic and destruct...y.

Hmm.
I get you bro, But there is a thread about the cloud which is still open.
Or they can open a thread about and discuss it among them self.
People who wants to sitt down and actually discuss their games shouldn't have to suffer this system wars BS and the drive by trolling. This is not why GAF exist.
This goes for every game in every system.
Gamers should have a clean thread where they can discuss the topic without these BS IMO.
I love GAF and many posters here. Often comes in to read. If someone does not like something or never gonna purchase it, why use the time in the thread? Shouldn't that time be used in something you like or play a game?

Except for the fact that this is the polar opposite of smoke and mirrors. It was literally being played by a human. Things can change in development for better or worse, but right now they are proving that this technology works. And I personally was of the mind like many others that nothing would ever come of the whole "Cloud computing" thing. Or rather that it wasn't particularly viable to this extent for this platform right now. They are in the process of proving this wrong.
Holy take shit out of context batman.
That was in the other thread you warriors wanted to bump to serve crow.
And I clarified later saying it was a genuine statement, because some of the funnest game moments are physics glitches dating back to rag-doll and Gary's mod.
But keep your warrior fist strong Pathfinder.
As long as you keep moving dem goalposts, DeepEnigma. Love you. <3
If people have a dissenting opinion, they have the right to express that. This is a crackdown thread yes, but it's a crackdown thread about a demo that is designed to show off functionality enabled by the cloud tech.
But yes, the problem here are the awful driveby posts. It's also becoming more and more clear to me everyday that a very large portion of the people on this site don't read the OP, much less watch the video, and those people have absolutely no business posting, period.
Destructibility looks amazing! Game is gonna be a blast.
Curious to how this works offline if it really relies on teh power of da cloud
In all fairness, didn't they show that early prototype of crackdown like nearly 2 years ago?I was impressed with the demo, this is the stuff they should have been showing before they ever uttered the power of the cloud. I can't wait for Crackdown 3, another year in the oven and this should turn out fantastic.
