God exists! I found a guy who couldn't use his key and gave it to me.
Downloaded the BETA and the patch (?) and now i'm fully prepared for tomorrow.

Having been one of the lucky NA bastards that got to sneak in to the game when the beta messages dropped the other night, I don't even feel the slightest bit silly for being excited about a 2 hour stress test. I realized after watching someone's recording of it that the 30 minutes I was able to wander around, I missed so many things. Pushing the tree over near the 2nd bonfire, wandering around at the base of the first cave, items I didn't even see... At least I did discover the torch. March really is too far away.

My objective in this test is basically to reach the two bosses available

Skeleton Lords and the Silver Chariot


And of course, provide feedback and report bugs. :)

After 7 years, my PS3 finally died.

When I recovered my account onto my girlfriend's system last night, I had just one message waiting for me, from Namco that I had been selected for this.

Obviously it was full by then, what bad YLOD timing...

Played Dark Souls on the PC this year for hundreds of hours, and was completely enraptured.

I can't wait to hear impressions!

12th October Test North American Times (from the Namco Bandai PSN message):
21:00-23:00 PDT
00:00-02:00 EDT (technically the 13th)
22:00-00:00 MDT

That'd be late on the 12th into the early hours of the 13th (for EST).

EST will be playing on Sunday at 12am-2am I believe. EDIT CORRECT

Test starts in about 30.5 hours.

EDIT: Thanks Doombear, I was nervous that it was going to be tonight and I'd either half to skip it, or the Pokemon midnight launch. Thank god that's not the case.

I'll be so pissed that I can't participate because I have to work at that time.

The times I quoted came from the official Facebook page, and actually correspond to the initial times from the PSN message as well.

It seems like a capricious and fickle god. He may sacrifice you to kindle the flame someday. What then?

Just to clarify once and for all...

The NA test has its own separate session from 2100 - 2300 PDT and nothing more?

That makes it 3 - 5pm for any Aussies involved. Such an un-DS time. Ha.

We don't know if the NA testers can go onto the EU test or not, I'm imagining that they can.

Have fun ladies and gents :) Just remember this is still early alpha! Bug testing and feedback takes priority!
look for hidden items and bosses, do some invading, get invaded and explore the game until you've found yourself at the dark bowers of the game world. And record every second of it so us non beta pissants can see what we are missing.

yeah, so how super cereal is the whole recording/streaming thing? would it be cool to password-lock my stream so a couple of friends (or fans) could watch it?

Was lucky enough to be awake when the codes got sent out. Most of my friends who are interested in Dark Souls are planning to come over and see it. Ought to be fun.
