I dunno, so far playing a sorcerer I wouldn't say the game is that much easier than previous entries. Perhaps the melee classes start off in a better position.

You need to follow the thread properly. At this point, the game is confirmed to be casual ,Miyazaki didn't really direct it, and the B-team made the bosses.

The stream finished with me finding a shortcut to the second boss, so I'm pretty happy about that.
I'm not great at Souls games (managed to clear them all), but I'm really enjoying the game so far. Last 15-20 minutes was me running around trying to not die.
With no healing items, no shortcut, 4k souls and barely any health. I think I did well, dying just in front of the bonfire.
Can't wait to play more tomorrow after work. I also have to remember to buy more arrows and increase STR to equip a better shield I found.

Exactly, people have played these games for hundreds/thousands of hours now. It's pretty much the same game mechanics wise so it's going to be easier.

Is online working properly? Someone mailed Namco about the pvp system working like in Bloodborne, where the response confirmed it actually worked like in dks1 (which means: you only need to be in ember mode to be invaded).

Thank you! I tried to stay away from streamers. I tried for a good, oh, 5 seconds and then I caved. It's hard to watch and work at the same time, so for the most part I'm listening to the screams and groans. Every so often I take a peak and see a gigantic dragon and the hype intensifies.
