Days Gone E3 2017 Gameplay

Source please?
Remidns me of Uncharted 4 Behind closed door full demo at E3 2015 that they released after the E3 trailer
Yeah they doing what UC4 did
If you’re at E3, stop by the PlayStation booth to get a look at an alternate version of our gameplay demo. We changed up the time of day, the weather, and the dynamic events, and Deacon uses a completely different strategy to take on the Marauder camp, this time going in with guns blazing. For those of you who can’t make it to E3, don’t worry: in the next few weeks we’ll be uploading that gameplay video as well.

Man, it looks so uninspired and derivative. Stealthing and zombies? Lol obviously a TLOU ripoff. What do you mean "did I watch last year and/or read any previews?" of course not. I glanced at this today for like almost an entire minute. Generic doesn't begin to describe it. What a disappointment.

All jokes aside I'm digging this game. After last year I was interested but not fully sold, I needed more intimate moment to moment gameplay and I got it. I'm hyped as heck. One of my favorite games of E3. Cannot wait to read all the previews on this.

Love the use of the horde(swarm?) to take out camps. I'm hyped for this.

Same, I love the idea of using the horde as a tool rather than just something to waste bullets on. This looked way more interesting than it did last year.

Also, I have to support Bend. I think they're the only AAA studio in my state.

It looks impressive but besides that, its not really doing anything for me. I guess I wish I knew anything about the story and characters and what is going on in the world. Only reason I was able to get into Last of US was because they told us that stuff so at least I had an idea of what to expect.

Gaf seems to be liking Spider-Man, God of War and the SoTC remake just fine.

I think it honestly might just be the zombie genre fatigue that are hitting a number of people here.

I'm not this Gaf guy, but I am not feeling GoW and SOTC remake. Spiderman is ace though.

On a 2nd watch of this trailer, I've changed my mind a bit. It's not that the game is generic, the MC is generic and kinda forgettable. It's not like Joel or Nathan with a unique voice or quick jokes. Days Gone's MC is just sort of there. Idk how to explain it. I'll keep an eye on it, Bend studios is excellent. They need to release this now and then release a Syphon Filter reboot in 2019 or 2020.

No release date? Lol. So we can expect to have this take up time at another 2-3 conferences. They gotta stop announcing shit early.

This is the only open world zombie game I'm really interested in :). And if what Bend is claiming regarding emergent gameplay (like traps set by gangs, hordes roaming the lands, etc) rings true, then this could be something special. Funny to see the first pages of this thread filled with 'looks scripted as hell' and then the information drops how this could not be the case. Deja vu - the same happened when they released the two versions of the first trailer last year, showing how shit wasn't all scripted and there were actually different ways of it playing out. Some of you guys must have short memories.

If I see another game with the "Hide in bushes to sneak" mechanic, I'm going to be insane.
This game should have been set in The Last Of Us universe, they're very similar. Seems extremely redundant.

I thought the first demo looked good. I thought that this looked good.

I dunno, I think it looks good! Open-world zombie Last of Us sounds right up my alley.

This shoot my hype right up to number 2 most wanted first party game after GoW.
Of course SoTC can't be rated.

I asked for an open world showing and they did it. Now they have to show us the open world elements, but meh, I was sold on this game long ago. I would rank this very high in my list, maybe top 4. God of War will never be replaced as the number 1!

Hiding in bushes to sneak isn't a mechanic in itself.

It's important to have clear grammar in big, photo-realistic worlds like this.
Bushes/grass just happen to be good at consistently communicating "you can hide here", while still blending with the environment art in a convincing/non-intrusive way.

I mean... I understand the complaint that it's a bit overused, but I don't think it's as ridiculous as a lot of people are making it sound.

Besides, it seems like the sort of game where you don't have to use any stealth if you don't want to. There may also be other methods which we don't know about (but doubtful, as it's not a stealth action game per se).

I think I will be fine with these kinda mechanics if the story is good and the characters interesting.

I mean, it's a zombie game, but they kinda have settled with this and it feels like a fresher take.

Right its not like their a alot of ways a human can do stealth.

Looks competent.. but seems a bit "generic" and every part of the game seems to have been done before..

TLOU-setting - check
TLOU-gameplay on foot - check
Cinematic TLOU inspired presentation - check

Also stuff from other similiar games
Dead Rising Zombiehorde - check
Gruff character - check
Ubi-type open world (?)

Frankly it is wierd this is from the same publisher as TLOU? Just doesn´t really seem to have its own identity. At least what they have shown
I wonder what the game structure is like? Is it open world with mission icons? I that case - meh. I hope the game is really open ended with story and cutscenes playing a really minor part - sadly cutscenes seems to be a big part and that makes the game less open

I don't agree the zombie horde has been done. Dead Rising is very different to this

I mean... I understand the complaint that it's a bit overused, but I don't think it's as ridiculous as a lot of people are making it sound.

Everything in that conference trailer was overused. Throwing rocks to make noise to distract people, scripted cinematic gameplay bits, a QTE to get away, all the stealth stuff.

I don't think it had anything at all to set it apart at all, did it? The devs have just wholesale copied all the stuff from games they've ever liked. It may be that the game is still very good as a result because there's nothing wrong with those mechanics per se, but it's definitely not going to stand out or be original in any way.

I see the potential for tackling scenarios in a variety of interesting ways, and that makes me excited to try it. I'm much more confident in the game now than I was last year. Also, I dig the biker theme.

The game looks insanely beautiful with not any sign of jankiness in sight. That said I'm a little tired of the overly scripted narrative driven game style, with the usual slow walking and QTEs etc. It all just feels a little too familiar, if that makes sense. Not very fresh.

But I'm wiling to give it the benefit of the doubt, given just how stunning and varied the gameplay environment looks.

Loved that the outpost tried to get rid of the zombie bear with traps (bear traps under hanging corpses) and that it still roams the area.

The gameplay looks very rough and unpolished, hopefully it doesn't get pulled sometime in the future if it ends up not meeting Sony's standards.

I agree that the zombie horde is different than in Dead Rising.

I disagree that it's never been done before.

Left 4 Dead

Granted, the horde technology of Days Gone is obviously more advanced than anything that I personally know about, but the basic premise has been done before.

For me Day's Gone is Day One ;)

The Zombear looks awesome and I like how you can use the hordes to your advantage against other enemies and they are not just something that attacks only you.

Day one. Game atmosphere looks top notch and the MC looks to have a bit of a personality. Would like to see crafting and customization. Anybody check out that NOS in the bike?

Looks very good indeed and i'm surprised how well it's performing for what a UE4 game? Just not into zombie games but said the same for Last Of Us before l played it.

Enemy on enemy combat is always somitting I've wanted to see more of in games and I can't think of many that did it outside of brief moments in Dead Space 3 and Left Behind.

New demo on the show floor we get to see it in a few weeks
The bad news with Freakers is that Runners, Ragers, Swarms and Hordes want to kill you and eat you. The good news: they also want to kill and eat Marauders. Last year you saw Deacon running for his life from a Horde; this year, you see him using a Swarm as a weapon against a Marauder camp. The possibilities are almost endless and are an important part of our strategic sandbox combat.

Not really sold, but that's primarily because of Sony Bend's pedigree.

I'll remain cautiously optimistic, but I definitely won't hype this. Hopefully, it surprises like Horizon: Zero Dawn did. This game seems a bit too similar to other Sony exclusives, but I'll always root for a new IP.
