Deadpool Test Footage Leaked

Rothman was the main holdup at Fox, it seems like. Now that he's gone and they're finally starting to utilize some of their Marvel properties, I could see them putting out a low budget Deadpool movie. Not like it needs a $100M budget anyway.

Deadpool is too popular not to happen eventually, I'm not worried about that. Will Fox let them make an R-rated movie, is what I'm concerned with.

Unfortunately, only one of two things will make this movie happen. Either...

- Fox gets their thumbs out of their asses & greenlight this movie, or...
- Marvel buys back the rights to Deadpool & greenlight the movie themselves.

Sadly, I don't see the former happening, & I don't think Marvel has a grand scheme for Deadpool to justify the purchase unless they want a more standalone movie like Ant-Man seems to be. Great performance by Ryan Reynolds, though.

IIRC, this scene was straight from the movie script written a few years back. They even used the same song during the car scene.

Be it as it may I need this movie in my veins!

Wow, second time in 30 minutes that this gif has been completely appropriate for my reaction but

Someone start a petition, a kickstarter, blackmail the execs at Fox, something!!!
Or push Marvel to buy back the rights to Deadpool. Fox doesn't seem to be doing jack shit with Deadpool, & James Gunn does want to do a Thunderbolts movie after GotG2. If anyone can do right by Deadpool, it's Gunn.

deadpool is tied in with the mutants right? so i dont think option number two is even possible

This is the only case where I'm thankful it's not under Marvel.

There is no way in hell, with Marvel's current four quadrant dominance, we'd get a proper R-rated Deadpool movie from them.

Why would Marvel Studios, which is notoriously tight with money, greenlight an R- rated action movie? It has a higher chance, if any, with Fox. Plus Deadpool is part of the X-Men rights. I don't think they can just give him back individually.

Marvel isn't doing anything with the darker characters they have now. The Punisher, Ghost RIder and Blade have infinitely more appeal than Deadpool, yet are sitting on the sidelines.

Give it an nc-17 rating, and im in. Anything less and it'll be too weak to be deadpool.

I liked the footage tho, dont like ryan reynolds as the voice tho. Maybe have someone else do the voice in the suit

That's exactly what I want from a Deadpool movie. I hope the test footage represents the eventual final product.

The same Marvel Studios that greenlit Guardians of the Galaxy, a comedy space opera that's poised to break August records if current opening weekend projections have anything to say about it (plus the positive reviews).

They can just as easily stick Deadpool in a Thunderbolts movie & make him the show-stealer.

Marvel just got those franchises back and there's still a stink on them from their recent films. I expect they'll all be something akin to the Defenders netflix series sometime in the future.

Deadpool, I honestly believe, has more appeal as a movie than those three right now.

I liked it. Definitely captured the essence of Deadpool take it or leave it. In just mad we'll probably never get more than this.

Interesting choice doing it all CG. I wonder if it was just cheaper that way (which I can't imagine) or if they actually wanted to do it CG.

Exactly. Marvel Studios has taken many risks in the past, & pretty much all of them have either paid off or are about to pay off. I think they earned enough trust to do an R-rated action comedy.

As for the mutants, they could just buy Deadpool exclusively. They already share Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch, they just can't say they're mutants. The same for Deadpool. Plus, as I said earlier, they can easily stick him in a Thunderbolts movie (assuming James Gunn is still down for it after GotG2).

I know it's test footage but with the slim chance of Deadpool keeping his mask on the entire film making a CG film wouldn't be the worst option. Actually, hiding Ryan Reynolds might get more people to see it.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a risk but it's no where near the risk an R rated Deadpool movie is. Guardians of the Galaxy appeals to a lot more audiences, Deadpool doesn't. Fox can also very easily insert Deadpool into that X-Force movie theyre planning. Plus as I also mentioned, the only way Deadpool goes back to marvel at all is if they sell the X-Men rights completely which isn't happening any time soon.

I know it's different studios that own the rights, but the fact that we're getting a Ant-Man movie before Deadpool is kinda pissing me off
