Souls games have so many options to make it easier yourself, it's not about "git gud" it's about figuring out what path works best for you, but if you don't experiment with the options the game provides how will you ever know? This is part of why I'm not big on Sekiro, too timing/rhythm based, not enough ways to get around the types of challenges it wants you to engage in. Be a parry master, a shield coward or a dodge/rolling legend, use magic/arrows from afar, grind areas to over level, scour areas for all the items you can... most games with options don't force you to use them and as a result we get people beating games with ease without using most the tools at their disposal and then claiming the game's combat was unengaging. Man, so many people tell me the Uncharted franchise has poor combat but never played it on a hard difficulty, nevermind Crushing and if you told them that's the way to do it they'll say "lol it'll just make you die quick and the enemies bullet spongey" and hey... for some games this is true but for SOME games... you aren't really forced to play it right without the difficulty cranked. If that ever happens to the Souls franchise it's all over, honestly.
