Destiny and Microsoft = Destinyfragrance .. LOL

I just hope this doesn't start a trend where everyone starts advertising fake stuff to get around restrictions.

It's only a matter of time before I will want something that isn't real..

Ehh... I don't get it. They're not allowed to advertise the game, so they made a website advertising the game? I mean, I know it's not a real fragrance, but you get real marketing campaigns that are more obscure than this.

Microsoft said:
Thanks for smelling that something is up.

Yeah something smells very fishy here!

After making the nex Tomb Raider a timed 360/Xone exklusive Microsoft takes a low punsh against Sony for their third party deal.

Idk; this just doesn't feel ok. Do not get me wrong, normaly I would cheer for everyone who is calling out those stupid thrid party deals but this...

MS kind of kicked off this whole exclusive marketing rights war last gen

I would actually laugh if Sony did it back on CoD or mention the tomb raider deal

It wouldn't make sense for CoD as everyone and their aunt knows it's not an exclusive, no matter how it's advertised.

Sony needs to do it with Witcher 3 though.

That's more than likely the plan. #DestinyFragrance hashtags, major gaming sites commenting on it, etc.

They should have done this earlier though.

Exactly, an ad on tv which mentions that you can buy Destiny isn't going to get around that much at all. Something like this could.

Not really sure of the value if this as it's only really going to make sense on places like here where people already know what's going on with the game. Can't imagine it's going to alter the sales ration in any real way.

I wonder if we'll get a "Destiny Smells Sweeter on PlayStation 4" response?

I agree comarketing is stupid. But ragging on the other for doing it when they do it too is also stupid

It's just a company trying to sell you a thing. They can do this without it meaning they think co-marketing deals are the devils work.

Lol, that's pretty good. Also, I don't know why I expect differently but reading some of the posts in this thread is embarrassing.

Microsoft must have done their homework on this. A lot of research. The mere perception of exclusivity or brand association, I mean. Important enough to cause disruption.

Do people really buy a fragrance based on the bottle, and not the smell?

That seems peculiar to say the least.

The sheer millions they pump into marketing purfumes/fragrances (Brad Pits $6m deal) suggests yes. I agree it's rather odd ... some people will wear anything tho.

The fragrance isn't real, the page just links to Destiny XBO bundles which are being sold by various retailers.

Look, this guy over here has no sense of humor. Come on friend they're not serious, that's the funny part about it.

I genuinely can't tell if this post if serious of not.

They aren't actually making a fragrance.

The fragrance is not real

It's a viral marketing campaign, nothing more.

Oh boy the point didn't just go over my head, it went into out of orbit into deep space looking for Voyager

I don't find it funny at all or clever, It's meh too me. I think some of you guys are forcing yourselves to laugh because this is not funny, this shit is corny and weak.

I wonder if we'll get a "Destiny Smells Sweeter on PlayStation 4" response?

A short videoresponse from Sony in this style would be hilarious. Just like the short 'how do you share a PS4 game' video they did E3 2013.

But most probably they will just ignore it.

Kind of funny after all the MS exclusive advertising campaigns for Cod etc
Funny but also sad. Microsoft already have exclusive advertising rights for madden, call of duty and battlefield I think.

Apparently any desperate act is granted to go through the loopholes when the situation doesn't favor them, eventhough they have similar advertisement deals with other games.

The problem with them responding is that it just brings more awareness to the fact that the game is coming to Xbox. Which is exactly the opposite of what they're trying to do.

Well, I'll be damned. Microsoft finally do something Xbone-related that's actually pretty good. Keep it coming, Redmond.
