Evolved1
make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
I really wish the SP DLC and the documentary were on the disc. Oh well.
Unless I misread... the extended doc is on the disc.
I really wish the SP DLC and the documentary were on the disc. Oh well.
if an author puts out a side story at a later date after the original book was published does that make the original book incomplete?
If the author makes the side story during the rest of the story, announces it before the book is released in an industry notorious for said practice then yes.
ND season passes are especially shit.
Oh it is? This is just all so confusing. I'm happy if the extended doc is indeed on the disc then.Unless I misread... the extended doc is on the disc.
There is practically zero chance that any SP DLC will just be cutting room floor shit. I would bet my word that it will be post production additional side-plot type stuff that you won't see for some time down the road. To think otherwise to me implies a lack of respect for the developer in question.
The boosters already in the game, it has a upgrade system for all weapons and your abilities.Honestly those single player DLC items make it sound like a F2P game.
I can't stand 'boost' type items that devs sell to the playerbase. It's such a lazy way of extracting a few bucks from people for what is literally just a changed figure in some piece of code.
At least with maps even re-made maps you are getting something new.
FUCK. SP DLC is probably the great ending of the game cut out and sold as DLC.
Non-season pass players will get the sucky ending ala Mass Effect 3.
Just lost a day 1 customer ND. I'll wait what the content of the SP DLC is or the GOTY/PS4 version next year.
They'll be selling the DLC packs a la carte at $10 a piece. If you buy the season pass you'll be getting all 3 for the price of 2.Wait, can someone clarify this to me?
DLC is available widely and you can get it separately regardless of Season Pass or do you get DLC only if you choose Season Pass? I am confus.
The wording is a bit weird. I originally took Day 1 as a preorder bonus for the Season Pass, but now I'm starting to think the bonus is just Day 1 unlock keys for items you would normally earn as you play. They'll probably clarify tomorrow if that's what they really meant.Oh it is? This is just all so confusing. I'm happy if the extended doc is indeed on the disc then.
Still upset about the SP DLC, though. I'm putting money on the Survival Edition, so spending more money on this game wasn't what I wanted to do. If it's good content, though, I'll get it.
Why must there be a SP DLC
Yeah, if the game ends up being satisfying and something I love, I damn sure am not going to complain about getting more single player content.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was ~40GB+. I don't think they would be making such a big deal about the game not requiring 2x the space of the download like most store downloads and the ability to play the game after downloading the first half if it was a <25GB download.Any info about the size of the game on the PSN? Do you think it will be near the size of Uncharted 3?

Single player upgrades? Why? So this is how the game probably was originally and they just lowered the settings afterwards so you would need to buy it. Probably required for hardest mode.
Just guessing, according to the demo I played(which will be released on Friday), the upgrades are in SP.
I've played easy and hard(survival is blocked in the demo). Most time when I encounter enemies, Joel would be dead after 3-4 shots or 1 bite from infected. So it won't change the experience too much, the battle is still exciting.
The difference I spot is the supply. In easy mode, more supply is provided.
If the extra bonus is for SP, that gives some advantages to players to upgrade their weapons and increase skills. Meanwhile saves some medicine and tools and materials. But those upgrades won't make the gun a super weapon.
I can't believe this is happening. They haven't told people about MP ( game launches in 2 or so weeks ) and they want people to pre-order MP DLC? Who is running the show up there? A feces throwing, glue huffing monkey?
My head just aches trying to figure the thought process that lead to these decisions. But I guess this is the modern video games industry. Amazing.
Yeah I dont think people are understanding this.what? you upgrade your stuff in the game, I'm assuming you get a few for 'free'.
Didnt know there was an upgrade mechanic. Thats not so bad then.what? you upgrade your stuff in the game, I'm assuming you get a few for 'free'.
FWIW, only the initial core download will be from the PS Store servers. The actual data will be downloaded from Naughty Dog's server.I love to get the digital edition. But PSN downloads are so freaking unstable with my connection. Anyone who knows the size of the game ?
Neil Druckmann explains how the download will work for the last of us and they are using their own private server so it will download faster than normal PSN downloads.

I can't decide whether to keep my Amazon pre-order or get the digital version. For some reason I keep thinking that Sony give people a way to play their purchased digital version of games on the PS4 using Gaiki.
If you're putting your money on BC in any shape or form where you aren't rebuying your games than you're in for a surprise.
Under 30GB's, I'm a bit surprised by that.Eric Monacelli (Community Strategist, Naughty Dog) posted today on the PS Blog that the file size is about 26GB for the digital version of TLoU.

IIRC there's no 3D support. They also seem to have dumped the behind the scenes videos that were planned to be in the disc in favor of pushing it as a Season Pass preorder incentive so that probably lowered the size a bit.given that Uncharted 3 clocks in around 42GB I am very impressed they got Last of Us ~16GB to be smaller
Last of Us doesn't have 3D movies does it? that could be the bulk of the size difference right there, Uncharted 3's 3D movies were ~10GB
Uncompressed audio + multiple voice tracks + high bit rate cutscenes + their longest single player game would be my guess. Is it this big because of uncompressed audio or?
