Deus Ex: Mankind Divided |OT| We Asked For This

so what the hell? can't finish SM10 because everyone in the area near
crime scene
are in constant panic/search mode. Can't talk to the detective because of this. Everybody is pointing guns somewhere but nobody is shooting (I obviously didn't shoot). really weird, is it a bug or what?
okay lol, really weird. So I found the cause of this panic, turns out in the sewers under this area security drons for some reason were shooting civilians. And they were able to kill them only after I entered the room. And now it is back to normal.

oh really? so you return to the hub and the other sidequests will continue? that's good to know, because before you start that mission it says sidequests will fail, I didn't get that message before I did
golem city
, so I thought that was the last mission
maybe I am missing another one?
Yes you will. Some sidequests do fail if you leave because of what happens later, but you get that prompt even if you have finished everything possible to do at that point.

That is the end part of SM00, you end it by using a bio cell in one of the control panel and empty the tanks. But if you never got the side quest then you still have that area with enemies going about their normal business.

I was the same as you, never found out about SM00, but then stumbled upon that area much much later near the end of the game..lol

I'm still at the beginning of the game really, only took the first train. I killed everyone, put the biocells in the tanks and emptied them. Guess I should get back to doing missions.

I guess I failed it?

SM3 will continue after the cutoff point but the rest will probably be canceled as the game warns you.

This is quite an enjoyable game. It's really up to you, but like a lot of large open world RPG games (this one is quite large but not "open world" per say) there are some bugs that need to be ironed out. It may be a little frustrating, but it's really not bad.
Thanks! Is the stealth approach as good as it was in HR and can you punch through walls again?

Um..so i kinda murdered the shit outta

Is this the mission where you get the calibrator?
You missed out on a side quest and a secondary objective, plus he shows up in a cutscene later and I don't know what happens in that one if he is dead.
Does earning the Time Traveler trophy negate the Honor Holds Us All Together trophy?

Yes...that's the side mission you miss that I talked about above.

So is there a workaround for this Preorder bonus fiasco? Heard to save as soon as you land, then redeem all your items. Or do I redeem then save? Why did SE have to make this a problem? Don't get how a consumable item this low in importance should cause this big of a problem for a single player game.

Is there a way
to meet Otar and convince him to give you the calibrator without breaking another mission AND then complete mission two?

I want to know before I try this as it's much easier to
just sneak into the place and get the thing that allows the dude to fix you.

No I don't think so, you'll have to do a save reload for the time traveler trophy.

You can finish the investigation before leaving but
the killer won't show up until when the curfew is up..

Right, I'm not disputing that. Just saying that he should probably finish the investigation (so the mission gets marked as done) before leaving. SM3 stays active even after exhausting all the options.

The detail in this game is insane. Reminds me of Naughty Dog.

Playing on PC and it's nowhere near max settings, I had to turn a bunch of stuff down to get 60fps, but man, it looks great.

I assume the console versions look and run well, too?

Console version looks good, it's a mix of mostly high and some medium settings and some stuff turned off (motion blur, tessellation, contact hardening shadows). It runs well for the most part, and is stable in missions. But in the hub there are two areas where the framerate is poor the first is in the area around the bank and the 2nd is the area around monument station (this is the part where the game's performance is at its worst on consoles)

I guess I failed it?

So yea this is straight up failed because I decided to explore.

Not cool to discourage me from exploring from here on out.

yea the game should have acknowledged it because you can stumble upon it via exploration. I can understand failing the quest IF you never happened to find anything about neon because in which case you wouldn't know what is going on in there...but if you already have the quest active then it should acknowledge the fact that you decided to do the end part before the previous part...especially if it is available for players to access from the get go.

This is one of the rare instances where the game's non linear narrative fails (the other has to do with a certain mission in the bank where you have to find something, but that thing never spawns until you accept the mission, so even if you went to the bank you won't find it) and I can think of only one reason why it happens i.e. the developers didn't think of it. But I understand that it can be tough to think of all permutations and combinations while making a game like this.

Finally played for a solid few hours. Fucking awesome. The control changes from HR are very jarring but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Fuck, I love this game haha. Finally got to dive in last night and I'm seriously enjoying this game immensely, that opening recap + mission sucked me right back into the Deus Ex world properly.

It's funny that Facebook reminded me a few days ago that I was enjoying HR when it came out 5 years ago.

Time flies!

True. Luckily I had a save from yesterday still in there that I could load up. I noticed I failed another part of a mission too. I did 4/5 parts to it but missed part 3 of it. W/e I guess.

How do you knock out the police officers in mech suits? I don't think I have a single thing I can use on them which then renders this one mission I'm doing invalid which is very annoying.

For the people who have finished: I have just
returned to Praha and the martial law is in effect.
Am I about the finish the game?

EMPs. Just shoot them with a round so they get stunned and you can go do a nonlethal takedown.

Faced the same issue today, I used an EMP grenade and then a stealth takedown. Worked fine.

Can someone tell me the number of side quests in this game? I'm just curious how many there are. I've found I think 4 so far, and I don't want to miss any.

Going to finally do more with the main missions. The databank building and the number of options for getting around and through it is pretty amazing. And it is all for a side mission. I also accidentally stumbled upon
Miller's apartment and hidden room that opens with the punching bag.
. The density of exporable areas in this game is excellent so far.

If you opted for another weapon in the first mission, do you eventually get the stun gun in a story mission? I have a ton of ammo for it, but I'm wondering if you come across or just need to buy it.

So I've run into a game breaking bug late on I can't use the trains anymore the game crashes when during the loading screen to the next station.

Devs are aware according to the Steam forum but here I am having to sit here and twiddle my thumbs until they patch it, great.

Took me forever to find Edward.
He's being tormented by a Thug.

Press X to talk to Thug.
Hold B and Jensen murders Ed..

How many main missions are there total? I really liked the other games in the series but this is feeling like a bit of a slog. I really wish they did more to develop what Deus Ex did well rather than treading water; some changes to how AI works would have gone a long way. There's just no sense of urgency when you can just trick an entire room of enemies to the same spot and knock them out.

So I downloaded the companion app on Android because unlocking developer commentary sounds kinda cool to me. I get a connection error every time I try to log in. Is that a common thing with this?

Is it just me or are the side missions really good this time around??

Also I spent an hour and a half in the Interpol building alone. It's like a way cooler police station from HR

I'm sure someone has already asked this earlier in the thread but during the "Golden Ticket" side quest, does
Drahomir's death
ruin a Pacifist run? Even though Jensen
doesn't physically kill Drahomir, when he reports what Drahomir is doing, it results in a shootout that kills him.

And I'm loving this game so far. The side missions feel so much more enjoyable, and I'm more into the story this time where I felt only slightly invested into Human Revolution.

I'm noodling around at the start of the game in Prague determined to hack everyone's front door and laptops (why does no-one care I'm breaking into their home and taking their stuff?).

Does anyone know the password for Olivier Berthelot? It might well be obvious, but I didn't spot Josef's either initially! Pop it in a spoiler if you know, or perhaps point me in the right direction. I threw all his paint buckets out the windew, along with his printer. Then tranq'd him. I'm a horrible person.
