In my opinion, Bungie.

I played every damn game they've made. I loved every, single one. I even loved Reach, albeit a little less (didn't stop me from playing a few hundred hours of it...). ODST gets a lot of flak, but I enjoyed the more exploratory, narrative driven game. And New Mombasa was perfect.

I even played GNOP. :p

Sega AM2 was all I could think of too... Retro and Platinum/Clover are good choices. Treasure maybe? Even their licensed games were somehow good.

Retro and Platinum seem the most consistent, but I might be more impressed by Intelligent Systems. So many games developed with very few mediocre titles in the bunch, and no truly awful ones.

*Possible exception

Honestly, this. Valve really has a great track record. They just don't pump things out very often is the problem. I have enjoyed every game they have ever made.

This thread is impossible because it's all opinion based.
True to an extent, but I think some games can be recognized as notably more poorly received than others, and sometimes we really do have an outright piece of trash very few will defend (I'm sure there's some Way of the Warrior freak out there.)

This thread is silly considering it punishes really old studios, rewards studio that do not make a lot of games. In some cases reward add ons as games aka valve.

I suggest u limit the list by generation or 10 yyears to equalize the list.

It's okay, Naughty Dog can be a great studio and have made Way of the Warrior.

Jak II, Uncharted 3. And there also was the horribly broken Jak X. The game had a serious memory card access bug, which made it impossible to play on certain PS2 models. It was never fixed. It corrupted memory cards.

Maybe because of GTA IV?

Nintendo EAD 1, 3, 4, 5?

GTAIV - the only game with a 98 Metacritic score and is considered "bad"

Sora

Game Freak

Data East

Well they have been making the same game for almost 20 years so...

Platinum. Their weakest game is probably MadWorld, and it's still lots of fun.

Wandered into this topic, seriously WTFing at calling ODST a bad game.
Yeah, that shit's bonkers. Insanely high quality title. Best campaign of the Halo series, after Halo 1's. Beautiful soundtrack, gorgeous atmosphere. It introduced Firefight too.

ODST took the best aspects of the earlier Halo games and combined them into one exceptional package, then added great new stuff on top of it like the hub world that you can explore as long as you want, and the option to choose which order you play the missions in. Speaking of the missions, they each emphasize different types of classic Halo-style gameplay in a really enjoyable way. Sniping, vehicle skirmishes, tank rampages, aerial battles, standard firefights, and more. Wonderful variety there. The only thing I'd criticize is the slowed walk speed and weakened jump, because they make movement feel a little too sluggish.

People who say ODST is a bad game aren't qualified to judge what a bad game is.

Reach had a good story, I never finished ODST though. I was LTTP and Reach already dropped by then

Closest for me would be Bungie and Ensemble Studios. At their worst the games were above average. While their bests define much of my gaming "career".
Jak II, Uncharted 3. And there also was the horribly broken Jak X. The game had a serious memory card access bug, which made it impossible to play on certain PS2 models. It was never fixed. It corrupted memory cards.

This happened to me :(

Blizzard. The only game most people would argue about is Diablo 3 at launch, and even then it was more disappointing compared to its predecessor than outright 'bad'. It was still a good game in absolute terms.

Not to mention it may have a spiritual successor in Captain Toad's Magical Adventures.

I actually had a lot of fun playing Jungle Beat, and it has a solid 80% on metacritic if review scores are your thing. Certainly not a bad game.

Huh, you're right about the score. I'm sure it might have been skewed by some Nintendo fansites, cause nearly all major media outlets gave it a 7.
