Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon officially announced w/ Raidho!

Ah, I see. Now I'm actually kind of curious as to how the packaging will look. Is it a giant box? Does poor Raiho get duct-taped to the back of the DVD case?

He should fit in there pretty easy, I think.

But you'll need enough MAG to get him out.

After realizing yesterday that the only gaming collectible I really care about is plushies, I will be preordering as soon as I see it.

The second this is posting on Amazon i'll pre order. The first game was mind numbingly bad but I tend to buy games with limited print.

i just ordered the first game. i hate playing sequels without playing the first ones. i shall see how bad it is ;)

Oooh how bad ass is this! I'm actually just about to buy the first one because my friend moved away and took my original with him! Can't wait to finish this, and by that time #2 will be out.

The PS2 is far from dead and ATLUS is making sure of that...

For me, that and t-shirts. I have Teddie ruling over my DVD shelves. Oh, and calendars (for games coming out in Nov/Dec) are an awesome idea too. I haven't preordered anything in years, but the P4 expansion pack was just about perfect. I was afraid the shirt would be giant on me since I'm a skinny guy but once it was washed and shrunk, it fit very well.

C'mon Amazon, link us up!

I don't think the original is "bad" by any stretch, there's just a lot of missed opportunities and small annoyances. It's average, but worth playing. From what I've read, the sequel corrects nearly all of the problems of the first game.

I'll admit I need to heed my own advice and actually finish the first game though, I tried doing it before Persona 3 came out and after that I've never gone back.

Upcoming press release from Atlus USA contains:
"We will no longer be selling games via Amazon.ca. Those bastards are spoiling shit."

Pretty much what happened with me. I'm excited to get back into the series because I always loved the setting. Can't wait to play the sequel. Gotta keep on top of this one due to the limited edition run I guess!

Lookie here!

Looks like Devil Survivor may not be left behind after all!

But the game page link just leads to nothing oddly, thus why I linked you to the search results.

Edit: Screencapped in case of listing removal.

June 23rd Devil Survivor? Sounds about right.

And for those that care about the other supposed dates listed on Amazon.ca...

Dokapon Journey: April 14th

Super Robot Wars: April 21st

Knights in the Nightmare: May 19th.

That's a pretty dense release schedule, but everything seems to be on par with their schedule for the first three months of 2009, and their usual turn-around frame from the JP versions. Did Atlus hire a lot more people recently, or is everybody getting craploads of (hopefully paid) overtime?

-

Has there been any more word on the Persona PSP rumor? There's the magazine cover from a few weeks ago, but nothing else.

About Raidou 2...

The blurb says it takes place in the 1920's, but I thought this takes place 14 years after the original, which was in already in the 20's.

I guess everyone missed my post of Amazon's listing of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier for DS.
There is no justice if this makes it out here and Soma Bringer doesn't. Stupid NoA.

that's because no one cares, if it was the PS2 OG game... sure. But I heard the DS OG game is pretty bad.

Their release schedule from the last half of last year was nearly as dense. Not to mention they've got almost weekly releases based on what they've already announced for this year.

If all those above are true, then we should expect announcements for Dokapon and SRW very soon, since Class of Heroes (the most recent announcement, other than Raidou) is coming out on April 7th, right in front of the rest of those.

I dunno where that came from, but it's inaccurate. Raidou 2 takes place only a few months after the original.

My bad. MagicBox seems to have pulled the date 1935 wholly out of their asses, which they often seem to do. They're the only site that links the game and that year.

I love you, NichM.

I'm preordering from Amazon as soon as the listing goes up. And the thread title better change when that happens. lol

YES! Now I don't have to get it from Amazon :D This is very good news for me.

Thanks, Atlus!

:(

Alright I'm a silly person for expressing my surprise or... silliness on occasions, sue me! :lol

And yeah, I did go a wee bit off-tpoic...

The thread became part "Atlus handheld leaks" after I posted the Devil Survivor leak didn't it? :lol

por favor. is there actually story continuity, or just similar setting?

There's no real story continuity. A few in-jokes about the first game's plot won't make much sense to you, but you don't need to have played Soulless Army to understand King Abaddon's story.

So uh...

Does this mean I have to import a first press copy for the soundtrack now? It wasn't released separately, and the tracks weren't directly lifted from the Raidou 1 OST.

Preorder +1 :D

Now I need to find the original somewhere. Kind of disappointed by the absence of a soundtrack, though... :( Oh well, at least we get Raiho! Heard the game is pretty awesome. Still need to finish Persona 3: The Answer and 4. Damn you Atlus, and I was just about to order Digital Devil Saga.

You shouldn't have a problem finding it anywhere.

I don't know, I wouldn't put it past GameStop to gut the game and then "lose" the plush.

Hey, look, it's Raihee...

Very nice little bonus. As one who quite enjoyed the first one as a lighter dish alongside the weightier SMT titles, I'm looking forward to this.
