Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon officially announced w/ Raidho!

There's no real story continuity. A few in-jokes about the first game's plot won't make much sense to you, but you don't need to have played Soulless Army to understand King Abaddon's story.

Thank you. I'm sure others were wondering too.

After reading the review, yeah... I would say so. :lol Now my expectations are ridiculously high. No way can it live up to that. Persona 3 is already my favorite RPG/game of all time; along with Final Fantasy VIII. So if what you say is true... o_O

Wow, I've owned this game for two months already? Maybe I'll play it one day. O_o

in the past two years, atlus has replaced SE as my favorite RPG maker. the atlus now is how SE used to be back in the PS1 days.

they bringing out a wide variety of games and most importantly doing it in a timely manner.

At the beginning of your second paragraph... ABOUT FUCKEN TIME!

I didn't like the first game at all. But thanks to your little review my expectations are really high.

Been playing SMT:Imagine every so often and it really makes me miss an old style SMT game. I glad they are still trying to cater to their older fans.

I'll probably be the only one at my local store to preorder this thing, but it's worth it!

SO worth it. I'm hooked! Atlus seems so dedicated to quality stories I just can't figure out why other companies in the RPG market aren't taking cues from them?

Safe to say this one is in my top 5 most anticipated for 09?

another ps2 fucking game, come on move over already.

The PS2 is the best place for the SMT series right now. If and when they decide to make the leap, I hope their engine is already in place. The good thing about working with the PS2 is they won't have to make any concessions to the story and gameplay since they are already familiar with the hardware. The PS3 and 360 are beasts, it will take some time before they are ready for that. R&D1 is a pretty small group. I wish that while they have been working on all these awesome games, they were able to create an engine for the next-gen SMT, but that's a fool's hope. They probably won't make the jump for another two years. Thankfully, they'll be ready for it when they do. SMT IV will be godly.

Am I the only one that could see this as a great Wii game? I'd still get it for PS2 if I had the choice, but it would open the series up to a whole new audience. Either way, I hope this is as successful as P4, but I have my doubts. :( GAF and their horrible tastes. Makes me want to cry. :'(

I've never played the first Devil Summoner and have only played P3 & 4 of the SMT games. (I did play Persona 1 years ago but never got too far) I thought they were too difficult. Would I like this game?

You should read Bebpo's review. Answers pretty much every question you could ever come up with.

Quick answer? From what I've heard, there isn't much challenge, except for a few bosses and enemies. You shouldn't have any problem beating this. But read the review anyways, you'll learn a lot about the game, and could better judge yourself.

So uh, when the hell can I preorder this thing?

Why did you guys announce this and not have Amazon ready?

I'm tiring of this slight tension.

Ohohoho!
I'm just now completing Persona 4 2nd run Expert and was lusting for a new SMT announcement.

The only question I personally have is.... can you skip cutscenes/walls of text? Please say you can. Not that I won't buy it anyway but.. you know!
Everything else about the game sounds rad! Kazuma Kaneko ftw <3

Where can I preorder this, to Europe?

And and.. the plushie is awesoem <3< <<3<3< 3< 3<3

also: LTTP but I just joinde Atlus Faithful.. 'We can't wait to spam--err- -communicate with you.'

:lol

Me too. Okay, we have two regulars who like SMT games. So that makes three of us :lol

EDIT

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.gif

GameStop.com has it up for pre-order. That must mean they got it up in the store too. BRB guyz.....

Just preordered (its like 5 min away). Guy there asked me about the game, and I mentioned how I really want the plushie since it's packed with the game unit, and not a preorder bonus! He said he only remembers one other guy (he wasnt sure how many) preordered it since the guy really likes collecting stuff from the SMT universe.

I can't wait to hear how they pronounce it on the phone call :lol

Reading (well, skimming :D) Bebpo's review, it almost seems like loading a save from the first game would take a lot of the fun out of the second. I mean, if a big focus of the game is on demon interaction, wouldn't it be defeating the purpose to have a bunch of demons automatically join you?

Pre-ordered from GS. I will get the plush going through there right?

Every copy of the game comes with it, hence the launch being limited to begin with. If you don't, feel free to bitch to the ends of the world at GameStop. (I would do the same)

May have to order from Amazon. They are taking orders for a while right? I may not get to it for a few days so I may just cancel and go with them.

Go with whatever's more convenient. I'm waiting on my new debit card, so I just pre-ordered at a Gamestop near me.
