Eurogamer:I don't know why some people are assuming Microsoft has some sort of mandatory microtransaction policy for all of their first party games; it's simply not true.
.Here's where Microsoft's blanket policy of micro-transactions for its first-party Xbox One games comes in, because equipment (and consumables) only come in random booster packs which you buy for game gold, and you guessed it, gold is earned slowly but is also available to buy. (You can also use game gold to buy the single-player upgrades if you like, but you won't really need to.)
That's exactly my point...
Eurogamer is talking out of their ass.
If these bullshit transactions become the norm for $60 games this gen, I'm officially done with gaming.

I haven't heard of Dead Rising having them. Project Spark has them.
Move onto PS4. PS+ is such a better deal
Indeed. Is it confirmed that GT6 has undergone a design philosophy change that causes money to be more dear this time around? Because that's what has happened with Forza.I have a PS4, GTA6 will have microtransactions. This problem isn't confined only to Xbox.
Look, guys, I don't think that the only thing we should be taking from this is that the tokens have a stupid, disingenuous pricing table. I think the far more important takeaway is that we are seeing a full retail title rely so heavily on microtransactions in the first place. According to a few reviews I've seen, Forza 5 deviates from previous entries insofar as one's ability to earn credits quickly has been drastically reduced to push these transactions--a practice eerily similar to many F2P games. From what I understand, it's hard to make over 100,000 tokens in an hour, while several great cars cost in the million credit range. So you essentially can grind for ten hours for one car, or you can pay a couple of dollars/Euros for the pleasure of owning a car in a game you paid $60 for.
The main issue is that this iteration has been downgraded in the number of cars and tracks available in the game along with the addition of far more grinding to get what you want. There is less content that they are forcing you to play more to get less rewards than previous entries. I for one think it's despicable, and am glad that they aren't seeing a dime of my money this time around.

You managed to say what I said in half the words, you beautiful bastard.GT6 and we don't know if the economy will be changed for it like F5. GT5 highest race gives 100k and 20 million for top car so if you want the rarest cars you are going to have to grind a lot. Now if GT6 makes it even more then that then its apparent the economy has been changed to make people pay.
Makes sense to me.It's interesting that the more expensive console is the one with the abundance of games with microtransactions.
If Sony had something similar planned, they'll just do the same thing they did last time. Stay quiet, let the fire burn and then come out as the hero. MS is making this way too easy for it's competition.
What about the PS4 launch lineup?
I would give KI a pass since its basically a free to play game, but the others....depressing.
Well, it's true that they don't have as many exclusives out so they have less opportunity to even go there. However, they could have used Killzone MP for micro transactions or even Knack for powerups but they didn't so maybe Sony just isn't interested in going that route. Although if they do I will lol at the knee-jerk fanwarrior responses to this. It's to early to fly flags for any of this shit because anything can happen.
It's the reason why a lot of the games have huge grinds to get stuff. It was designed to suck money out of people after they got tired of the grind. It's not going away thanks to f2p and the monetiization of p2w.For all the uproar that microtransactions cause... i have bought many games with them and never made a single purchase. i can't say i've ever felt forced to purchase them and knowing that they exist haven't hurt my enjoyment with said titles either.
Rather not have them, but whatever. I'll continue ignoring them and hopefully they go away.
Why do people keep saying this? MS claiming KI is F2P does not make it F2P. 1 character for free is a glorified demo, not F2P.
Yeah, we don't know yet. Gt has always been a grind as well.GT6 and we don't know if the economy will be changed for it like F5. Its not but everyone is taking Eurogamer as gospel. Is it apparent the economy in Forza has been changed?
All this negativity makes me wonder how much this board hates FIFA UT. Its my favorite thing to play .
