Dragon Ball Super |OT| 28 Episodes Later

I must have been living under a rock. I completely missed the start of the season. lol

"Start of the season"? Dragon Ball doesn't go off of seasons, it just airs every week. Unless you mean start of the current story arc, which kinda started in episode 16, though the REAL start is this coming episode.

I missed all of it, lol.

What's the consensus, do people like it?

Nope.
In this version Tagoma isn't killed by Freeza and instead does intense training with him and becomes super strong and then Frog Ginyu swaps bodies with him on Earth during the battle.

Also in episode 21 Freeza promises to give a planet to whoever can kill Krillin first.

Well that's certainly something if true....

It makes me wonder what would be stopping Ginyu from jumping to Goku or Vegeta's body. I guess they're just gonna ignore that possibility like they did with Baby Vegeta and Goku.

That doesn't make any sense because:

Ginyu thought he would get super strong when he changed bodies with GOku but he was even weaker because he couldn't control it. Why the hell would he try the same thing? How can he in frog form perform that move?

He's spent years intensely training

Because it's better than letting two Super Saiyan Gods run around and Ginyu was starting to get the hang of Goku's body after a while.

LOL WHAT THE HELL

I think I'm going to start watching now.

I hope this combined with Krillins renewed desire to take martial arts back up again gives us some meaty Krillin fighting love.

What heck about DBZ doesn't sound fanficy nowadays lol. This all sounds great to me

The Fact that Frieza is revived in pieces, becomes as strong , if not more than two Saiyan Gods (Super Saiyans) in 4 months leaving behind all other villains, only to lose pathethically due to not training enough and Whis using his magic time reversal powers, should be enough to know the series is running on fanfic now ;)

this kind of plays into freeza's development as a character though. like, remember when goku gave him an iota of his ki so he could at least have enough energy to fly off namek before it blew up and he wasted it on trying to make that pathetic last-ditch attack? that's freeza in a nutshell. he assumes any boost of power automatically makes him the strongest because he thinks he's the strongest. his ego has always been his greatest shortcoming.

He's Gokus perfect partner in lack of non-fighting learning ability, lol.

Even in Ressurection F Goku offers Freiza a chance to go home despite every time Freiza repeated his dickery.

These spoilers also apparently mention that
Tagoma (powered up by training alongside Freeza) beats up Gohan - and that's before the whole Ginyu mess.

The retread of the movies was a very weird decision, but so far has been pretty enjoyable.

Universe 6 is where the real hype is at. I know the Super adaptation of Revival of F is shaping up to be awesome but I cannot wait for the new material. Please go beyond End of Z, Toei.

What the fuck kind of hardcore ass training did Frieza do? At the least I assume some gravity training in the middle of a supermassive blackhole with the massive gains he made.

well remember freeza never trained before in his entire life

so he probably did 4 sets of 15 pushups and leveled up dramatically

Starting from what episode did it suddenly become good?

I don't think it suddenly became good, it's just that some of it is exactly the same as the movie. It's all worth watching really, the only really low point is the bad animation in episode 5 and a few changes for the worse. I think people started coming around on the show about ep 8 when the Beerus fight took off.

To me, it was the 2nd half of episode 13. It was the first part of the Beerus battle with really good animation, and that continued into 14.

Afterwards, for these episodes bridging Battle of Gods and Revival F, I'd say it depends on your taste in humor. Especially starting from 16 (although 15 had two really good scenes), they're pushing the humor much more in these transition episodes rather than those old slow slice of life episodes that weren't very funny or plot relevant. However, if you dislike watching Vegeta making weird faces, or even Goku acting like an idiot, you probably won't enjoy them.

So they're gonna implement SSGSS too?

Yes, it was even foreshadowed in the last episode, when Whis talked about how if they raise their ki to a new level and transform into SSJs, they'd bring forth a much greater power.

I'm wondering how Vegeta is gonna gain SSG powers. He already had them by ROF.

He was keeping up with Goku this episode and already could feel God ki. Add to that all his comments about not wanting to use the ritual beforehand. It seems pretty clear that Whis' training is the only explanation we're getting for Vegeta getting to that level.

Unlike some people speculated, I don't think we're even getting anything about side-effects of the SSJ God ritual. If they were trying to build up any mystery about his powers, Goku would have shown some confusion regarding Vegeta's growth here, but there was nothing, so I can't see them going back and attempting to tie it to some unrevealed side effect of the ritual either.

I assume having to switch Beers' bed sheets taught Vegeta to detect god ki

It'd be similar to how Goku learned to read breathing with Karin

Here s the thing.

I think it s how it is.

The ritual literally turns you into a saiyan god. That includes those magical abilities goku had ( like regeneration etc... ).

Whis' training simply makes you reach god level on your own.

He turned beerus into a god, and told Vegeta directly that he could make him god of destruction.

So my 2 cents is that super saiyan blue, is Goku and Vegeta going beyond super saiyan god on their own in terms of power, but not actually getting the title nor the abilities of a god.

DBZ: Extreme Butoden on the 3DS is way too easy and I still don't know what button combinations do what half the time outside of Kaioken and Kamehameha.

Have you seen Freezer's calves? If nothing else, the guy made it very clear he hasn't skipped leg day.

That regimen...really isn't that impressive. Even I could do that, and I ain't what you'd call an athlete.

If you did them consecutively every day (ie 100 push ups at once immediately followed by 100 sit ups etc), that would be pretty intensive I think.

That said, I think it's part of the joke that someone could become so strong with a pretty middle-class workout.
