FWIW, GT's best rating came with episode 2. It did a whopping 19.7%.

Well that's not happening for any anime ever again.
I can think of a way for it to happen, but it's not a happy way for it to happen.
basically one of the major shonen authors (detective conan, naruto, dbz, one piece) would have to suddenly die... and then they make a special to honor them.
actually I thought of a less morbid way.
after one piece reaches it's 100 years straight of airing, the make a special one piece day where every station in japan has to air one piece of a day

Yeah, the problem is it gets less awesome after you listen to it on TV every day,every year, since the first time the anime aired.DBZ is a pretty serious shit here in Italy xD

Based on the episode titles, it sounds like we're already getting into the Battle of Gods stuff. I wonder how much of it is going to be the same as the movie. It's nice we get that out of the way soon at least. It'll also be interesting to see what happens between that and Resurrection of F.
I'm liking that pace.

I've mentioned it before, but I wouldn't be surprised if the BoG/RF episodes are literally just the movies re-edited into 3-5 episodes.
Considering Bulmas party now takes place on a ship and not the same as BoG, that's not happening.
Also, why couldn't they get Kageyama back to do the theme? Too outdated and they want to go more pop?
I thought the closing theme from the jump tour special really felt like a natural progression of what a new DB theme should sound like: it was called "Orange Hero" i think.
Ps they rehashed the "Goku as a radish farmer" shtick from that. I bet it was Toriyama's idea.

I guess we'll know how close it actually will be to BoGs in episode 3, since that's where they'll introduce Super Saiyan God apparently. Anyway, yes, this is reusing elements from BoGs, but changing the story, effectively replacing it.
Not only cheap animation, but a cheap story as well. Great way to bring back Dragon Ball.
