When Goku was on the ground and got saved by Vegeta all I could hear was TFS Goku saying "thanks best buddy!". TFS is quickly turning into their official voices in my head.

Same.

Next week's preview looks so terrible. Haha.

Enjoyed this episode though. Watching Vegeta beat down Frieza was more satisfying than in the movie. Not quite sure why Gohan would go to Piccolo for training... but I suppose if he can barely hold SSJ in his current forum, he's not ready for the God stuff.

My hope is that they build off each other and both become relevant again.

Just got around to watching the latest three episodes, figured I'd wait 'til RoF was over, and man first of all the previous two were not as bad as people said they were. Second, this last episode is really well done. Thumbs up!

I wish it could be more consistent, but at least it looks good sometimes!

Vegeta calling Goku Kakarot after all these years is like some nintendo fan still sticking to calling Wii "nintendo revolution" in 2016. Get over it dude.

Piccolo is the only person he can train with that isn't completely overpowered or way stronger than him. The kids are too goofy, the humans are too weak, Buu is too stupid, and Whis and Beerus aren't going to let Gohan join the fun until he gets to a point where he becomes worthwhile.

He was his first trainer, he knows Gohan's strnegths and weaknesses, and he has all that knowledge about martial arts from Kami that he can pass on. The master doesn't have to be stronger to be a good trainer.

Solid episode this week if only because I love their depiction of Hell for Freeza so much.

Also, I find it amusing that the food is drawn better than most characters.

The "slice in half" line from Trunks was good. A really nice callback.

Agreed! I loved it as well. I could watch entire episode of the two of them getting into mischief and playing super hero.

I feel like the Manga was intentionally throwing us curveballs in regards to Piccolo and Gohan since it's supposed to be supplemental to the show.

Goku and Vegeta are usually clueless in regards to other people and we've only heard their take on what Gohan was up to. It's also just before the tournament as of last months issue and we had no idea if Piccolo or Buu had prepared at all. Now we "know" Piccolo was most likely training with Gohan.

Why doesn't Trunks know that his future self killed Frieza? Did nobody mention it to him at all? There is no reason not to at this point since the timelines are obviously different.

That's a little heavy for a 13 year old to handle? I dunno. It is a bit weird that he never reacts to that fact.

The line they added was a nice touch reminding you that they are, in fact, the same person.

It's possible that they decided to refrain from telling Trunks that. Regardless of the timeline impact, it's still a bit odd to be telling a 10(?) yr old.

That whole scene at the end of the recent episode when they're talking i'm just like "what the hell is wrong with them" lol

Especially Goku. Saying it with such a bubbly demeanor.

I want to see Goku scold Vegeta again at some point

I like serious Goku

The anime adding filler where Goku and Vegeta try to fight Buu made this scene look really dumb. Buu is RIGHT THERE and it looks silly at the end when he charges at them with a beam he doesn't throw and they just repeat the end frame.

In the manga Goku teleports to Vegeta who is miles away and Buu has to find them. Then Goku does the whole "stuff your pride, Buu absorbed all of our loved ones!" spiel and they combine. Don't know why they changed it.

I think the next episode will be good. It's at beerus' place, and all those scenes have been my favorite parts of super so far.

Despite the animation still being balls, it was really satisfying seeing Vegeta pound the ever lovin' shit out of Frieza

Same thing happened with Goku. He became taller than everyone else all of a sudden.

That was Goku, tho, a full Saiyan. Don't remember where I read that Saiyans looked like children until a certain point then hit a growth spurt. Half-breeds don't tho, as evidenced by Gohan looking like this at ~11. Then again, who knows, maybe Trunks had a sudden growth spurt at 14 to counterbalance Goten growing shorter.

"Hey Piccolo, I was wondering if you could train me again"

"Hey Gohan, how about I don't waste my time?"

- how the scene should have went down
