Fable - Official Announce Trailer

Please don't fuck this up MS. Fable is dear to me

One of the three reasons I will buy an Xbox.

If they f it up, I probably don't buy one. Halo and Forza are great, but Fable is the game that seals the deal for me.

PS. There are plenty of other games and reasons to buy an Xbox, but this one is that important [to me].

It is a good trailer, but man, these announcement trailers are boring without some actual gameplay.
Dude. Everytime a game is premiered it is always a teaser trailer like this. Then a year later you start to get gameplay some 6 months before launch.

I know, but this time i feel there was too much tease for the hype that was created.

Sadly this is apparently an MMO
Yes we get it. You want to share your insecurities about some random rumour not being true and possible impacts on your mental health. But there are a dozen meme threads from your circlejerk for that, we are not here to counsel you about your insecurities.

What source do you have to claim this? Because literally nothing has been said about this game
EDIT: just read the tweet, well, that was unexpected

Some guy on Reset era said Fable mmo but ZHuge said dont read to much into it. Its not your traditional mmo like WoW.

Looks like it will have online events options like seasons in Forza which
changes world and a optional coop mode but nothing is confirmed.

Originally Eurogamer leaked said it will be story focused RPG but now it looks like it will have online options as well.

I dont know why having online mode automatically bad? Lol

Did three have an online mode where you could invite your friends into your world?

Happy to have Fable back but I really need to see gameplay. Playground games have been phenomenal with Forza Horizon but this is a different case

So pumped for this soft reboot (?), I hope Playground Games can prove they can make great thing and rivalise the better studios out there.

High hopes for this game, not founded on anything. Fable is a franchise that always falls just short of greatness, every installment held back by some clunky aspect. But maybe this time will be different. But first I need gameplay.

I never really understood all the hype for Fable. The first one had a lot of charm, but as an RPG it isn't exactly that great. Fable 2 wasn't too bad for a sequel, but it was still incredibly easy, and Fable 3 was absolutely awful. It still seems like it gets so much cred as if it was once an amazing series though.

If this is indeed an MMO I think it's a smart move by MS.

InXile and Obsidian are making traditional AAA RPGs, and the Fable brand isbroom temperature cool outside of fan forums. This helps with diversity a lot.

First ZhugeX is denied it and now Klobrille.

It seems to have some online interactions like the co-op in Fable III.
I have always said that if anyone makes a MMO for Microsoft it should be Jeff Strain.

No gameplay
No release date
Generic title (is it a remake or a new chapter?)
I was so hyped for Fable (and I still am) but I was kinda disappointed by this "annoucement".

I agree to an extent, I so badly want to see some real game footage. But ultimately I'm just happy to see them acknowledge that the game exists. I am patient. I will wait. And they best not drop the ball on it.

And as for MMO, that's not needed. I'd love to be able to run around Albion in coop with Mrs Flintty though.

Here's hoping it's single player. Online interactions like Dark Souls etc would be fine.
I would assume it would be like Fable II/III

They had online? Never played it.

Yikes. Playground games makes Forza Horizon games, which are mere husks to be filled with paid DLC, also their idea of "Character rewards" for leveling up is a wheel spin F2Pesque bullshit thing.

In Horizon 4 you don't even have to win races to progress, "atta boys" galore F2P style.

Hopefully they do better with the Fable series.

Also Forza games are racing games, this is a pretty big bite to chew for a company that's only made racing games.
It's not being made by the racing team.. The have some of the Best RPG guys in the business working on it.

How can one be hyped with a trailer with nothing?

Its has being long since I heard of Fable and this video only shows nothing but "it exists".

If Hellblade II was confirmed to be UE5, how the heck will this be UE4 ?

Developers stay on older version of engines all the time. A new version of an engine existing is not nearly enough to take it as confirmation that the game is using it. would love to get confirmation this was in realtime and in engine.

A fair amount of the staff at Playground have worked on titles other than racing games in their past.

Like I said it was confirmed that Hellblade II will be using Unreal Engine 5

I'm not talking about Hellblade 2, I'm talking about fable.
Fable to my knowledge has not been confirmed to be UE5 and it's not safe to assume that giant games from huge studios are automatically going to switch to the latest version of an Engine.

It's very possible that the next installment for FF7 comes out on UE4.

Hellblade II will release before Fable. Fable is further ahead.

This does indeed raise the chances and imo the odds of it being UE5 are higher than not. However, staying on an old customized version of the engine is still extremely common. The latest Mortal Kombat is using UE3

I'd say a >10% is still far from enough to act like it confirmed or guaranteed.

Mortal Kombat is an entirely different thing. Why would an older AAA game project from XGS use UE5, while a newer one use UE4 ?

Because they are totally different teams. Also, is this team confirmed to use Unreal Engine? Are we sure they don't use their own inhouse engines?
I just don't see why we are assuming it's Unreal engine.

Glad I'll be playing a mainline Fable game on PC and at release as it should be. I hope so anyway.

Here's to playground games! I believe in them :)
