Also, is it just me or there was an inplied sex scene in casters route? i'm referring to the "spider legs" part
That scene is actually fairly tame compared to
her last couple of bond events and the epilogue.

So is there anyway in game to see what the requirements for a hidden side mission are? Any hints about where to go on the map, or do you just need to use a guide?

So I don't follow the Fate series much but why does this waifu gender swapped Nero Cladius look like Arturia only dressed in red?

Just a heads up that not only will you have to beat all the stages (main + side missions) on very hard difficulty, but you'll have to get all the mystic codes as well and there isn't really a detailed guide on how to unlock them. There is a Japanese one but when you run it through google translate it ends up making less sense somehow. So far I like it. Normal is fine so far and I think I'll aim to get the Platinum. I've been at 39 Plats for nearly 2 years or so now :V
Wait for the Very Hard trophy can't I just do it through Free play? It has to be all main and side missions?
YES.
You're right on that . Free mission do NOT count
Looks like Extella is getting a sequel.

Wonder if we'll miss out on it(in the west) like we missed out on Fate/Extra CCC.
Taking it that way I guess then we could see a situation where it just comes out on PS4 and Switch in the west and the Vita version gets dropped. (I love my vita but I'm also reasonable)I think the main reason for CCC never getting localized was because it was only on the PSP, which at that point was basically dead in the west.

Glad to see. I hope we also get more Altera.
Why? She was just a Berserker nutter in Fate/Extra except for the short moment after you beat her. That said it was a cool fight.Screw Altera.
Gimme Shiki Ryougi and Arcueid Berserkers from CCC.
Sorry for the bump, but considering this comes out on Switch soon...
I've always liked the sound of the Fate/XXX stuff. What's the best way to get into it? Can I just dive into Fate/EXTRA on psp? Should I start with the Fate/stay night VN (or anime)? Something else?
I am reviewing the Switch version.
Man, if it IS rough. It clearly shows its PSVita (I think?) roots.
Is the PS4 version the same? Very basic-looking?

Yes. The PS4 version isn't a great looker, either.
yep, although it does have decent IQ
There's various ways to get into it. The visual novel can take you a while to get through but it is the core of Fate, so it wouldn't be a bad idea. If you'd rather not take all that time, you can watch Fate/Zero (an anime prequel to Fate/Stay Night, originally a light novel written by Gen Urobuchi) and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (series, not movie. Series came out in the past few years). Unlimited Blade Works is one of the three routes that makes up Fate/Stay Night (the routes are Fate, UBW, and Heaven's Feel). Heaven's Feel has a series of movies in the works.
Bear in mind, if you watch FZ first, it does spoil some things you discover in FSN. However, the reverse is true too, as FSN naturally lets you know the general outcome of FZ's grail war.
Fate/Extra you can go into if you don't know much, as I recall. Its an alternate timeline (the Nasuverse (the multiverse of Type-Moon properties) tends to like alternate timelines). Bear in mind that there is a sequel to Extra, Extra CCC, but that did not come over to the west. Extella has a number of connections to CCC I believe, but you can do ok without it.
Fate/Apocrypha is airing right now in Japan, but that is yet another alternate timeline, but if you want to look into it, you can.
There is also Fate/Grand Order, a mobile gacha game that came to the west recently. Another alternate timeline (and also is greatly expanding general Fate, and Nasuverse, lore).
If you want a more in-depth "What to watch/read/play with Fate" guide, try this FAQ from /r/anime.
thank you
I don't want to downtone a game just for its look/graphic, of course, and I still have to actually/properly play it. I was just surprised by its visual output
Is it safe to say that the main version was the Vita one, and that they ported it to PS4/Switch almost as it was?
Pretty much. The PS4 version (and Switch it seems) adds cel shaded outlines around character models and a much-needed boost to resolution but there isn't much else other than higher resolution (alpha?) effects and better surfaces in the environments. The framerate also saw a boost on PS4, naturally.
thank you

Yup, resolution, polishness and frame rate seems decent.
character models and environments not that much
The frame rate is at least decent, then? I can live with that.
This or Splatoon 2?
I've only watched Fate/stay night and played a bit of Fate/Grand Order, but I like the sound of a Musou-like game on the go.
Do I need to play anything else before this one?
Thanks, mate. You technically don't really need to play anything as they do a good job of explaining what you need to know, and if you want more there's a digital manual available too.
But, uh, it's not a good game, so pick Splatoon 2 instead.
Is it any good as a moo-sow game? I mean, compared to the quality of say, any of the DW Gundams or Hyrule Warriors, which I quite enjoyed.

How's the movement options for map control? I'm a bit of a fan of what DWG3 did.Depends on what you like them for. If you like the map control bits it is one of the best, if you like the cathartic buttonmashing and beating a thousand dudes it is one of the worst.
I like this one a lot.
