I agree with this dude, thanks Jaxel! Absolutely loved watching VF on Sunday.
Unfortunately, as much as I do appreciate the kind words, I know that when it comes down to it, the average viewer does not care about "who" is streaming. What matters is who is playing, and what game it is. Sadly, I tend to stream less popular games, with more unknown players, so I get less views. Whenever MarlinPie is not at The Break, we literally lose 60% of our audience during The Break Weekly.
I remember last year when Sp00ky was streaming at Final Round, they had an "unknown" secondary streaming. I don't remember the name of the channel, and talking to others, they don't either. But what this "unknown" streamer had; was Marvel. Sp00ky is the most beloved streamer in the FGC, but when he wasn't streaming Marvel, and Marvel was on this secondary stream; the secondary streamer that no one ever heard of was beating Sp00ky's numbers.
We all try to give you guys the best streams; but if we don't have Marvel (or Street Fighter)... or the expectation of Marvel, you guys wouldn't watch us. When I stream SC5 at these majors, I will get 1000 viewers at most. But when Sp00ky streams SC5, he will get 2-4,000. Not because he's a more popular streamer and people are tuning in because they tune into anything that Sp00ky streams; but because they know, eventually Sp00ky will give them what they want... Marvel.
