It's actually quite faithful to the original OMEGA introduced with Final Fantasy V. The perfect fan-service for long term fans, if you ask me.

It seems you are correct. However, the concept art looks a lot better. Apparently it was in XI and was more faithful to the concept art.

It doesn't seem to be inflected correctly, though "ship of ages" might make some sense. The alphabets in this game aren't an easter egg anymore; they really want you to learn them and they introduce the Cocoon one right there in the book.

It isn't correct Latin. Neither are adjectives. If they'd gone with "saeculorum prora" that might have worked ("a ship belonging to generations") but "saecula" is plural whereas "prora" is singular.

* Her sword also has writing on it: LONGE LATEQUE AETATUM. ("the width and breadth of generations"?)

The whole quote on her sword says "Longe Lateque Aetatum Lumen Illustrans Verum", which again is ungrammatical Latin. What they want it to mean is "Throughout time, light reveals the truth", but they've used a participle instead of the indicative and blah blah blah blah blah...

* The amusement park "Xanadu" will evidently be "Serendipity" in English. Why change it? We English speakers know about Xanadu; the Khan's pleasure dome being there and all. Supposedly it doesn't belong to any particular age; the casino is there and it was designed with FF7's Gold Saucer in mind. (The numerals on the slot machines contain Etro alphabet numerals, for what that's worth. Some kind of heavenly alternate dimension?)

I believe that "Xanadu" is a registered trademark in connection with computer and software goods. I would assume that Serendipity is not.

FFX Omega Weapon is my favourite. Far more appealing and awesome. FFXIII-2 Omega Weapon is horrible.

I dunno, the FF10 version suffers from the "How many horns and spikes and legs can I jam on here?" school of monster design.

I'm fine with Omega being the old school version. I'd be annoyed at one of those fat-ass centaur versions hogging up my combat screen all the time.

Though I am a bit sad you can't have a Long Gui party member. Bay used for good instead of evil.
