Can't stand Scott. Guy is a douche bag.

That said Scott/Emma is better then Scott/Jean.

Also I want Scott/Logan in one book again. Their antagonistic rivalry/respect right before Schism was the best either has ever been.

Truth. Doom gives no fucks.

The last time I cared for Cyclops as a character. God he's so badass in Whedon's series.

Whedon's Cyclops should be the definitive Cyclops...... Hell his version of everybody but Wolverine was the best they had been written in years.

Logan is 100 years older than Jean and visible looks a decade older. him creeping on her was always weird. rather they stay close friends

Oh I won't say I support it.

Just that they have been keeping that attraction going even when aging him up and making her younger.

Tbf given logan's age, if he cared about that he might as well become celibate. Doesn't matter if a girl is 20, 30, 40 or 50 if you're 130+. They all gon be way the fuck younger than you.

His love interest at that point comes down to Mystique, Apocolypse, and....? That's it off the top of my head.

true, but Jean of all people is just a tad too far.

I heard about this but not sure. haven't read OML

I mean, lets go through the logic here:

The Inhumans detonate a bomb that sterilizes the mutant population, but its cool, because we need some of the X-Men to fill out other books, so we're going to ignore that.

The attitude of the general Marvel universe towards the mutants is that they need to be cool despite their stuff getting messed up on a regular basis. Cyclop's stance of 'there are no non-combatants' makes a ton of sense here.

'Hi, I'm Tony Stark. I'm going to try to kill/contain the Phoenix Force (Marvel U's version of God), but when it breaks up and possesses 5 people, its their fault. Not mine.'

I'm done with the X whatever until they bring back adult Cyclops and adult Emma (their relationship made so much sense), and stop making adult Cyclops the victim of editorial mandates. Find someone who can write that character (and Emma) well, and just let them go with it.

Or just reboot the entire universe. It really does need it.

Yeah from what I read the Creeping Old Man Logan and Young Jean do to each other says otherwise.

Or are those posts exaggerated?
Jean goes in to Logan's mind to convince him to go to join Storm's X-Men. It's weird considering their history, but I think Lemire's been making it a father/daughter thing. They protect each other because Logan sees it as a chance to keep this Jean from dying and she wants to help stop his future from coming true.

It's not a dynamic that I care for, but that's primarily because I dislike young Jean.

I see.

Yeah not sure what to think. Then again Jean/Logan at this point is on the level of stupidity the whole Tchalla and Storm so I just don't care for it.

Is there a good reading list for the Xmen after Whedon's run?

There's like 8 years of storylines. And if you only read Whedon's run and not the other concurrent series, you missed out on even more major events like House of M and Messiah Complex that weren't really addressed in Astonishing X-Men.

Are we including X-Force? If so, I'll throw in some runs that I've really liked that have occurred since then:
-Warren Ellis' Astonishing X-Men (specifically volumes 5 & 6, titled Ghost Box and Exogenetic, respectively)
-Craig Kyle and Chris Yost's X-Force
-Messiah Complex
-Messiah War
-Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force
-Brian Michael Bendis' All-New X-Men
-Brian Michael Bendis' Uncanny X-Men
-Trial of Jean Grey
-Si Spurrier's X-Force

These are simply from oldest to newest. There is a little bit of a reading order involving the Messiah stuff and X-Force, as well as Bendis' stuff, but otherwise you're good to go.

It depends on how you feel about the whole AvX mess. If you're OK with it (or Marvel hasn't lost you because of the stupid crap) then yeah, go with the reading list above ComicVine guide to X-Men comics .

Actually, the more I look at that list, the more I like it no matter what your stance it. It delineates the eras well, and provides pretty good stopping points to get off the train at whatever point they might lose you.

Man I just provided that link

Imma assume you're talking about both.

in which case, yes.

Buuut, at that point, one must remember that this is Tony Bangs The Galaxy

an alcoholic human in his 40's that takes a ride everywhere simply lacks the stamina to compete with a dude with superhuman strength that swims 60% of the time and can facetank hulk blows.

thats an unprepared man getting some cosmic level ass. hes got an app for that.

no it isnt

It's supposed to be normal, but (in a weird plot move) the Phoenix Force broke his powers. His optic blasts became highly distorted.

Wasn't the Phoenix. It was Dark Beast. He injected Emma Frost, Magneto, and Cyclops with Nano-sentinels. Only those three though. I don't exactly remember why Magik's powers went haywire. Something about abusing Limbo.

Thanks for the correction, I don't think I hung around long enough on Uncanny to learn that.

I'm not a fan of Cyclops but InHuman are killing off mutants to make more InHumans. He is not wrong.

Still a bitch tho

It's sad but marvel is not going to do that inhumans movie.

Anyway the characters only need more good stories as that one from Jenkins and Lee.

I dislike young Jean.
