If this mini series doesn't vilify Cyclops and actually brings him back I will start giving Marvel my $$$ again.

But I doubt that will happen. Breevort hates adult Cyclops.

Yeah I don't get the hate some people have for Cyclops, he's such a good character.
 
Cyclops comes off hard on his beliefs and he pushes a lot of the young mutants to the brink but wolverine will always be the bigger asshole.

Cyclops is ruthless. He was ready to send the Skrulls back to their home planet with a virus that would kill their whole species in Secret Invasion.

The Inhumans would lose.
 
So right now we have 616 Wolverine, Scott, Jean, and X dead. Need to kill Storm,Beast, and Rouge to make relevant 90's 616 characters a memory at one time.

616/Prime whatever it's called now. They haven't shown Cyclops at all since the new comics started; only mentioned that he died during the 8 month gap post secret wars to the current comics for starting a war with the Inhumans. This'll cover what exactly happened to him.

We just didn't get to see much of the Beserker side in the movies so he wasn't balanced properly.

He has his daughter figures, yes (Kitty, Jubilee, Hisako, Laura), but he's also just a straight up abrasive dick. They made him way too much, "dark and mysterious" and not enough "well fuck this guy today." As far as the movies are concerned, he's pretty much just a giant mope like everyone else, only he's Hugh Jackman, so everyone wants in that ass.

He has plenty of dark and mysterious though.

I agree they could have maybe turned it up a bit but he has plenty of dick moments and fuck your feelings in the movies from calling Coke a dick in the first movie up to telling Beast he will die Days.

Origins I would say this was an issue but thankfully we don't count that one.

If they truly had him fight the rage more and not PG him his character would have smoothe'd out signicantly.

He needed more connection time with Scott and the way the team worked and less them wanting to pork Jean.
 
The inhumans will never replace the X-Men because they just don't work for the Mutant Metaphor. Yeah, now they appear between normal human beings, but for 50 years they've been all about the Royal Family, which we should remember had a manufactured slave race for eons, and even now the only inhuman book that it's about the new inhumans is getting canceled.

The only inhuma-as-the-new-mutants success is Ms. Marvel, and she would have easily be a mutant and almost nothing about her would have changed.

Genuinely wonder what he did to be so hated

Inhumans happily killing and sterilising mutants without even trying to fix it, but Cyclops is hated because he is always right.

I expect Marvel to handle this story with their normal amount of subtly. That is with no subtly at all. For over 2 years now Marvel has been trying to completely assassinate Scott's character and make the readers hate him as much as Wolverine/Jean shippers. But it never took. Scott only because more popular and liked because he was proven right time and time again.

So this will be Marvel's last chance to get the readers to Hate so Cyclops and make the rest of the X-Men not look like the petty, hateful hypocrites that they've turned into

Basically, well see Scott lose his mind some how and murder a bunch of Inhuman kids ah la Anakin Skywalker. Hell they may even have him rape someone. Then all the Cyclops haters can feel vindicated after all these years and yell "See! We told you so!"
