PSX Extreme is a Multi-platform magazine.

Pros:
- Nariko
- beautiful and spectacular game
- combat system

Cons:
- No collectables
- needs more bosses/enemy diversity
- could've been longer

Other things of interest:
- almost no framerate drops/ occasional tearing
- superb acting and great story
- compelling characters
- for the hardcore: Hell difficulty
- very good enemy A.I.
- the reviewer finished the game in under 10 hours (I'd say that would make for a 12-15 hour experience for casuals)

What the reviewer is trying to say: Heavenly Sword is a killer-app for the PS3.

Did the reviewer say anything about the Kai segments? I love the demo, but the video of those gameplay segments makes me worried.

i hope its a good game but based on that magazine reviews i'm not so sure... i'll wait for better reviews.

How does a magazine like that get reviews out so early?

On a more serious note this game has been a day 1 purchase since I have played the demo :D. Can't wait!

Thats not one of those Sony owned PR magazines is it? I never trust those. Well who am I kidding? I dont really trust any game magazine.....except maybe Edge.

Old, we came to that conclusion with HS's showing at E306. Although the info about GOOD enemy AI is interesting.

That magazine seems to be cross-platform despite it's name. Look at the cover image.

How are these first reviews on games always from some completely obscure overseas mag.

Or Play, but I think the rubber is wearing off on their 9 stamp anyway.

Here is what he says about Kai (more or less):

"Though agile like a monkey, she doesn't fight hand-to-hand. However she can take cover or leap over obsticles and be deadly effective using her crossbow.I don't want to spoil much of her segment of the story but I assure you they you'll have a great time using this little sniper."

Anyway, sounds good...>Ill wait to more results come out...but funny how some people think this one reviewis particularly unreliable...to me any one review is unreliable...consensus holds more truth

One things certain, the game looks spectacular...the graphics and art are top tier

I see they are talking about racism in RE5 haha

Most games now are about 10 to 15 hours gameplay really.

and I do believe that a casual will spend more than 10 hours on his first run through the game.

Seems fine to me, I'm entirely sick of bloated content. Provided it's 10 hours of very compelling content, that's better 50 hours of looped horseshit.

heh the 10 hours doesnt bother me that much...actually looks replayable. That would be crap for an rpg, but not for this kind of game. haha I can guarentee I will spend more time on my first play through...just for how nice the game looks

At this point it seems unlikely that HS will be reviewed badly. Isn't Shane writing the EGM review? I can't imagine any review stopping me from buying it day one.

If you're worried about the Kai sections Tieno, you should check out the Making of... videos on PSN. It shows some of her acrobatic gameplay and boy it looks amazing.

Don't be surprised if a bunch of GAF players are done in something like 8 hours. :D

It seems like a lot of games are doing this now. Adding unlockables/collectibles can extend the value of a game huge. Goldeneye/Perfect Dark are some of the best examples of this. They really rewarded you for playing the shit out of a game, and enhanced the experience.
