Also, it's hilarious that the PS5 has better thermals with the panels off![]()
It's hilarious that creating better airflow paths gives better thermals?!
Big shock.
Stay in school.

If you go by that logic, I am pretty sure you are going to agree that you can tell the difference between a normal conversation and a goddamn loud vacuum or traffic, lol. That also is just 10dB between those.I think you dont know
We can debate the scale between a wisper and a quiet library all day, but I breathe louder than that.
Obviously voids warranty. If this becomes an issue, is it fixable at home or it voids warranty? (I assume the latter)

I didn't say the increase will be damn loud btw, but we will clearly be able to tell the difference.
(Also breathing is only 10dB)
There are definitely a small amount of consoles artifacting but this happens in every generation and was there from the moment they started to play games so I would say it is just a faulty GPU to begin with.So the memory is running hot, but still can be in the specs from Sony..
Do we know if the PS5 consoles with some graphical issues / artefacts were real or some FUD? If real, then the high heat could be the reason.
I know that always only a small amount is affectedThere are definitely a small amount of consoles artifacting but this happens in every generation and was there from the moment they started to play games so I would say it is just a faulty GPU to begin with.
Oh yeah for sure there a wide array of factors that could make these problems occur, I just believe Sony would have mass tested this and something as important as the temperature of the memory in a console they are making it their goal to make cool that this would have been tested thoroughly, probably an isolated issue I hope!I know that always only a small amount is affectedof course unfortunately we had some bad examples, that a bigger amount can be effected (RROD and Ylod).
But can we say it is a faulty GPU if it is an APU? We do not have just a GPU anymore, so if there should be anything wrong, wouldn't the issue be much much bigger?
As someone mentioned in another thread, these kind of artifacts looked like on Pc, if you OC your RAM to high.
But it is good to know, if we should get any small issue with heat that we can just enter team Naked..![]()

Love how this is picked up out of piles of bait posts in many threads here. I wonder why. lolWait until they start saying it, then call them out if it happens. Dont bait others and encourage and engage console wars.
He will, soon. His team is on a break atm.did he do one for series x?
Isn't Sony Infallible? PlayStation 5 Thermal Mods? Thermal Pads?
That vid should be coming soon.I hope they do Series X next.
Hardware hysteria around PS5 was comical, especially in hindsight. Turned out launch PS5 thermal design was excessive.Just checking if everyone's PS5 has been fried yet?
Oh... Apparently Sony's engineers knows better than an egotistic nerd who thinks he is an authority on everything because he had 2m subscribers lol.
I'm actually surprised how long my launch PS5 has lasted so far. I had about 350 hours of play time last year alone and the fans sound the same as they did on day one. It hasn't gotten any warmer since then.Just checking if everyone's PS5 has been fried yet?

Played around 600 hrs yearly since launch, my base ps5 is still rocking( have only cleaned twice or thrice) and doesn't get hot nor loud. Also, have kept it vertical, if that matters.Just checking if everyone's PS5 has been fried yet?

Besides the disk drive , my ps5 still works perfectly , no noise whatsoeverJust checking if everyone's PS5 has been fried yet?

Not only that but Steve never claimed the lifespan of the console will definitely be a problem, just reported that the one memory temperature was high and it may have some impact in the future, but that Sony likely tested it and it very likely won't be a issue. He specifically called out a Reddit post in the follow up video for claiming it would reduce the lifespan of the console. This thread is over four years old.
His testing methodology was flawed. AFAIK nobody reproduced his results. Not only that but Steve never claimed the lifespan of the console will definitely be a problem, just reported that the one memory temperature was high and it may have some impact in the future, but that Sony likely tested it and it very likely won't be a issue. He shits on PC builds and components all the time, especially if temperatures are high, or if the noise is even slightly elevated. God forbid he puts the same rigorous testing methodology against the PS5.
That's how insecure console fanboys are. Four years ago a dude did his job and reported his finding and people still losing sleep over it.This thread is over four years old.
Where are the other results that directly tested memory temperature? Not just with a thermal camera, but with direct connections to the memory modules. His testing methodology was flawed. AFAIK nobody reproduced his results.
I don't remember but I think someone else did similar tests. But I have read analysis about how flawed his test was. In summary to test the temperature he had to remove the pad and couldn't be certain the pad was properly re-applied aftter adding the temperature sensor.Where are the other results that directly tested memory temperature? All the fear monger was nonsense. Ps5 is a good system. My launch unit never had any issues before switching to pro.Just checking if everyone's PS5 has been fried yet?

Accordingly, I can only agree that the video from Gamers Nexus is absolute nonsense.
Unfortunately, those days are over for me since I have to look after two children at the same time... nowadays I'm proud if I get the chance to game 1-2 times a week350 hours in a year
I do that in a mouth.
