lol. Few people do that but most, may be 99% use monitor and a desktop instead.
He's running a 3060 at 4k (yes I know LOL), hence his comments. He argues some dumb things, but apparently R8 was terrible on PC.?
I can launch RE2 right now, even after the oh-so-badmouthed patch, and play it at max setting and RT on at 150-160hz+ with G-Sync active.
How is that NOT better than the alternative on consoles?
But it is mostly everything . 30FPS to 60/120FPS jump is considered MUCH better to me .lol, I was expecting this answer
But please focus on the MUCH better. Like, significant jump graphically, not only better textures + framerate.
Control with RT enabled, Cyberpunk with RT ... Stuff like that
I'm replaying Assasins Creed Unity on PC, and with HBAO+ enabled, it looks waaay better than the consoles AO sollution (Nvidia Gameworks is awesome)
People turned it into an internet meme. That’s pretty much all there is to it, the scene is perfectly fine in context like you said....
I don't get what you're even mocking?
The people who thought it sounds different in japanese?
The people who memed it without context?
You yourself?
That scene isn't hard to get, nor is it bad, nor is it brilliant.
It's simply two people fake ass laughing to cope with their shitty situation. It's mentioned as such like 30 seconds before this scene.
Edit: But seriously. Who do you wanna blame here, but internet nerds.
- For FFX writers that was just a way for Tidus und Yuna to further interact. Probably born out of *You know Tidus probably is pretty fucked up after what happened to him. Let's make Yuna teach him something random to get his mind of things and further the relationship*.
- For the Voice Actors, they only got one voice direction for the scene *Fake Ass Laugh*. What the fuck else should they have done?
There mystery solved for something nobody spent probably more than 10 minutes on in 2000, except for Internet Nerds having to make it more than it is 10+ years later.
Nah it was fine, I streamed it here on a radeon vega; no issues.but apparently R8 was terrible on PC.
Didn’t it have just some stuttering issue tied to drm that was quickly addressed in an update?but apparently R8 was terrible on PC.
I think his intention was to focus on the "better visual quality" part, not the "better performance" part (which is basically a given with a somewhat modern PC; the norm is you get more fps and a higher res). Higher fps is definitely in the performance category, since you can't see them in a still image. Resolution of course is a visual quality aspect, but you get that in pretty much every single game so it's not worth mentioning in this context. OP's thread intended to focus just on the rest with regards to differences in visual quality, so fex better textures, better post processing, RT and so on.But it is mostly everything . 30FPS to 60/120FPS jump is considered MUCH better to me .
So I tried god mode yesterday and I literally couldn't beat the first act of the first mission because of the things you mentioned. It's literally impossible to do anything. I peep out for one second and you get shredded. You go to shoot and you get one shot by something off screen.Damn, is that really Watch Dogs? He's not wearing his iconic hat.
One of my favorite games of all time, but unless you're going for an achievement, God Hard kinda sucks imo. It turns Vanquish from a fast, unique, amazing game into just another stop 'n pop cover shooter. You can't really do any of the fun sliding, vaulting, time dilating tricks without getting instantly killed. The little combat scenario mode (I forget what its called) is amazing though. Perfectly ramped difficulty, with the last one being a real fun challenge.
Wow I guess I'm part of the elite 1%
now that i have a pc i need to play this again with an emulator. gonna learn how.Much better? Most games.
Incredibly light-years ahead in every aspect possible? Zelda BOTW.
The 486 runs Doom better than the SNES, 33x or JaguarWhat PC?
One with an Nvidia 3090 or a 486
with the ability to disable vsync completely and have a frame limit + VRR, most games will practically be smoother and snappier to play on PC
you might find it funny but... gta iv. it runs at 720p/60 fps on series x or 4k 30 fps (weird, right?). and have the weird old blur filter which rockstar used to hide jaggies at 720p resolution (even on the 4k enhanced mode). practically it looks very bad on xbox one x/series x. and if you want the 60 fps mode, you are tied to 720p resolution which is antique. draw distance is also limited just like xbox 360 version
on PC, you can use vulkan wrapper to make the game ultimately fine with alttabbing (dont alttab in cutscenes), have a seamless 120 fps (very rare compilation stutters and they go away after you play the game for a while), get 4k 60 fps with high draw distance.
i practically use VRR+4k/120 unlocked uncapped and remastered the GTA IV myself. this is simply not a thing that you can do on console
sx is similar to 2080 which is not far from my rig (3070). im able to get 4k 100-130 fps depending on the scene with high details,
take a look at how sx runs this game:
now look at the beauty above...
if a proper effort was done: gta 4 would at least run at 1620p/60 fps with the blur filter off. the end result is just horrific.
How about having a TV + comfy chair on the PC room? That's what I'd do if I couldn't have it on the living room.If I had the PC in the living room
I love this kind of seething.yeah lemmie see fallout running on a similarly specc'd & priced PC from that era..
man games on my £2000 graphics card look so much better than this £300 console...

I love this kind of seething.
Dude, you are on an enthusiast gamers forum. We don't care about money here, we care about the results. And when it comes to those, you'll get the best on PC 99% of the time.

u could easily built a gtx 970+i5 rig for 800-900 bucks back in 2014 (approximately 2-2.3 times more than a ps4)
how shocking. 1080p 80+ fps experience over the 1080p/30 fps low/med experience of ps4
despite not having async, vulkan/dx12 low level api features, it also manages to run god of war at 1080p/45-55 fps with ps4 settings which is much more smoother than base base ps4
same for rdr 2, but a bit better (usually above 50 frames)
this rig still gives you 1.5-1.8x more performance over a base ps4 with nearly 2-2.3 times more price
i'd say that's a fair trade, considering the freedom that gtx 970 pc provided to its user over the years. and if you happened to build a computer with a i7 4th gen, u could easily sell your 970 and upgrade to somethin like 1070 and still happily game away even at higher framerates/settings
no seething, I'm typing this out on a 3070 RTX laptop and when it comes to gaming, my PS5+55 Oled wins out every time
Do you use your PC only for gaming? Why do you pair your PS5 with your Oled TV? Can't you plug in your PC into that same TV?no seething, I'm typing this out on a 3070 RTX laptop and when it comes to gaming, my PS5+55 Oled wins out every time, but when comparing the massive price differential between PC+Consoles, the difference in graphics are not 2 to 3x the leap they should be considering the price
Because 360 players all had mic’s with the console, so the lobbies were active with trash talk. Cod at that point was dying on pc and battlefield was way more popular. If you wanted to be a competitive cod player 360 was the move. How those sub 720p games with limited to 60fps with drops, pathetic FoV, higher input lag and gunplay on dual stick controller with pathetic semi auto-aim and paid online were better???
Damn you must be bummed every time a new phone comes out and doesn`t play everything several times as good as its immediate bargain-binned predecessor.......no seething, I'm typing this out on a 3070 RTX laptop and when it comes to gaming, my PS5+55 Oled wins out every time, but when comparing the massive price differential between PC+Consoles, the difference in graphics are not 2 to 3x the leap they should be considering the price

We should make an oath to just stop answering to those kind of posts. It seems you can't have a PC discussion on GAF without the same stupid comments popping out every time.i wont bother further answering stuff related to this. some of you folk readily whip up 1k bucks for a oled screen but you act like the poorest person in the world when it comes to PCs. i'm done with you people
you are still 2x the price so of course the game should run better, does it run 2x better? well imo no, "slightly" better looking? yes, "slightly" smoother? again yes but nothing you ain't noticing from sitting on a couch.
I don’t think that applies to all fps games.Any FPS game.
To me, a FPS games needs a mouse. I know some people are competent and even good with a controller but I still see it as a handicap. FPS with a mouse is a game changer and the only way I'd play one.
Also, any game but especially FPS games if they run at higher than 60fps. Playing games at 120fps+ is another experience.
What I love doing on playing a game on console and then when/if it gets a PC release, I replay it using max settings. It's like getting to experience a game for the first time or in its best possible form. I'm really looking forward to experiencing Last of Us that way.
i don't even bring dlss into this discussion lol. at 4k with dlss quality mode, its practically free %50-70 performance boost. (of course the people who say "you wont see the differences, they are slight" will come up and say "nooo dlss destroys IQ i dont accept it, do not bring it into the discussion)We should make an oath to just stop answering to those kind of posts. I still like how gta 4 looks on 360 more. Better dof, aa and proper motion blur. It looks good on pc but the contrast is all wrong, dof is gone at high rest and it looses something.
I don't know why but I always hated the clean look of GTA IV on PC. Just doesn't look right. Without blur filter it's souless and looks even more janky and blocky and just shit.
I don’t think that applies to all fps games.
For example, I probably prefer Borderlands on console. It’s a fun, casual loot grind. It fits the medium.
But yes, any fps where aiming matters is miles better on PC.
Yeah man... meanwhile there's nothing wrong with dynamic 4K on consoles because hey, who could notice the difference?i don't even bring dlss into this discussion lol. at 4k with dlss quality mode, its practically free %50-70 performance boost. Nothing forbid people to use mic on pc and I was/still am competitive in MW/MW2/MW3 and BO2. Cod dying or not meant nothing as I easily found/still find matches.Because 360 players all had mic’s with the console, so the lobbies were active with trash talk. It’s not the same thing. In the living room I have a comfy couch, big TV and projector, Atmos AVR. I don’t want to invest in all that for the PC. Plus, I honestly don’t want my noisy PC in the living room either, so consoles will stay winning for certain games for me. I’ve dabbled with in-house streaming and GFN as well, but… Nah.How about having a TV + comfy chair on the PC room? That's what I'd do if I couldn't have it on the living room.
