Games That Did Not Deserve To Be Forgotten

Lots of great stuff in here.

The best action game on the GBA. Hard as shit to find when it came out.

Will forever hold a place in my memories.

Both of these are such great games, still makes me sad they never got sequels.
Especially Psi-Ops with it damn ending, I would pay good money just to figure out how that ends. What did midway ever do with the rights to that anyway did WB pick it up?

Also while not really forgotten i'm going to say Resident Evil Outbreak is criminally underrated. Though obviously without it's online play it looses a lot of what made it so special. If you ask me a HD collection on vita would be a smart move, since in japan the use of adhoc would be a big thing, while a online mode with chat for the US would work wonderfully as well.

Game was deeply flawed, but the world had sense of physicality still not surpassed..

YES YES YES
Definitely fits the moniker of flawed masterpiece.
Not to mention it still has a pretty hardcore fanbase behind it. I would love to see perhaps a re release on steam with some patches already implemented.

Not to mention some people forget that
Trespasser was the game that gave Gabe Newell the inspiration to do all the physics in Half Life 2

The Rush games on N64 are probably some of my most played games ever. Just ridiculous how addicting they were. Sad to see what happened to the franchise, and that it now lies dead.

Extreme-G. Loved the sense of speed and the tracks, A worthy rival to F-Zero and Wipeout. Would kill for a DD version.

TrickStyle. Such a great game. Future Tony Hawks/SSX with amazing tracks and fun gameplay.

This used to get a LOT of play on my school's old iMacs, maybe even more than Lemmings and Sim City 2000

edit: fuck it's freeware now!

...but doesn't work on Lion :(

One of the best water racers ever, the levels were a lot of fun, great themes, controls, everything. Nobody gave two shits about it which is too bad. Its probably super cheap now.

Thanks for reminding me.

Has anyone mentioned this game?

Samurai3box.jpg

All of the games in this series. Honestly, they are some of the most well crafted, well thought out games. It's hard to find titles just as compelling as these three (soon to be four) adventures into Japan's past.

I'm having a real hard time writing about them, because I can't stop playing them long enough to jot anything down.

Still one of the best games I've played on XBL next to Shadowrun. As an aside, this thread definitely shows how cover art quality has decreased over the years.

Herc's Adventure is a great game that is in the same vein as the old style Legend Of Zelda games. I remember it as very challenging, great graphics for its time and an overall fun game. They need to put this on PSN.

_-Wacky-Races-Dreamcast-_.jpg

Wacky Races on the Dreamcast puts a new spin on cart racing games that I don't think I have seen since. As it was in the cartoon, the vehicles each had a bit of the personality of the driver embedded in them and that was reflected in the weapon choices in the game. You had to choose 3 powerups amongst 5 or 6 that you would use in a race and each power up cost a certain amount of tokens that could be picked up on the track like how coins were in Mario Kart.

Advent Rising-
Great soundtrack
Interesting universe
Pretty cool combat mechanics
Mysterious story
Mass Effect before Mass Effect in a way

Advent Rising had its problems and the marketing campaign was kinda dumb and cheapened the game. But I loved it, I thought the story was great and the atmosphere was awesome. I was surprised it did not get a sequel.

I'd also like to throw in the ol' EA game Jungle Strike. Back when EA was the shit!!

Hexplore - PC (1998)
Excellent game with dodgy voxel graphics that I'm pretty sure no-one could possibly remember. Has a theme I still remember 14 years later - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4KjMqOqLlg

Sentinel Returns - PC,PS1 (1998)
Surreal and baffling game that I got really good at after a while.

Also had good theme - by John Carpenter of all people - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTntaBSRdeg

If you don't know what this game is about then maybe this will clear things up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK9DKB5PvKE&feature=related&t=0m54s

I love the song that was used in the US commercial :(

I really liked Extermination on PS2, but I think people classified it as another mediocre RE clone and was subsequently forgotten.

I LOOOOOOVE THIS GAME!!! I wish Sony would opt-in for a squeal. :(

Bouncerbox.jpg

It may be because I was pretty young when I played it, but The Bouncer was the definition of fun when it came out for me and my friends. I had to of beaten that game 30+ times, and I still don't think I saw all of the different endings! No idea wtf happened to it though

Oh dear, now I have a urge to play this game again. Loooove it!

My entry would be this:

I like you. Are there many games that try to capture that feel like Acquire's Tenchu/Shinobido/Way of the Samurai games?

I hardly ever see this one get mentioned.
God bless you.

Jet Force Gemini was the first thing to pop into my head when I read the thread title. It had a Tri-Rocket Launcher, bug guts that went flying EVERYWHERE, lots of great locations and music, and it even had the Big Bug Fun Club!

Such a great game, and I've lamented the fact we've never gotten another game set in that universe.
