Games you own because you borrowed them and never gave them back

You know, for whatever reason, like they moved away or they just forgot about it or something.

I own several more Game Boy games than I should due to this. No one seemed to care about getting their copies of Solar Striker or Motocross Maniacs or Wizards and Warriors X back. I think I've got a few more too buried somewhere too, maybe Final Fantasy Legend or something.

I still have a copy of Heavy Rain for PS3 somewhere. I haven't spoken to the dude whom I borrowed it from in years :D

Resident Evil 4 for Wii and a Naruto game for DS. I don't even remember who was the owner.

Also a Wii Classic Controller.

All of mine are from the Gamecube era. Baten Kaitos, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Star Fox Adventures, and Mario Kart Double Dash. All of whom are from people I knew in high school and have long since lost touch with.

A store I worked at as a student had a cool policy that employees could sign out 1 of the used games at a time. A couple of months after I left I found Onimusha 2 which I'd signed out. Literally the only time I'd done this. Still kept it though which was pretty dishonest in hindsight.

I think i gave them all back, but had a couple not returned to me, from the SNES/OG Gameboy era.
Also when i stopped lending games to my schoolmates.

Also gave out San Andreas, as an adult, to a family friend, and never got that back, but by then i didn't really care about it much.

Soul Blazer for SNES. To be fair, my friend in HS lost / never returned my copy of Haruki Murakami's The Wind-up Bird Chronicles, so I kept his game as consultation. I also have Yoshi's Island and a few other SNES games I borrowed from another friend and I just legit forgot to give them back so they just became mine.

A bunch of FIFA and PES (2014-2017).

CoD4 some kind of special edition. Metroid Prime 2 and 3, Mario Kart...

A PS3 system. And a few 360 games.

But on the other hand, I can't seem to find my copy of Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles so I ain't the only asshole.

They'll show up... one of these days

Not a single one, but i had plenty that i lost for these reasons as a kid. Some were "borrowed" without permission to begin with...

GTAIV

I wanted to give it back, and he was like " i beat the shit out of that game, I don't care"
and... that was it

Can we do this in reverse?

I lent out my copies of Fzero GX and Twilight Princess for Gamecube and never saw them again. Still makes me sad thinking about it. Apparently Zelda: TP has pretty decent resale value as well.

- Dark Souls PS3
- Resonance of Fate PS3
- Dead Space 3 PS3

Never really finished any of them.

I rented Madden 07 from Blockbuster on my step dad's account. We moved to a new city pretty shortly after that so it never got returned. They had his credit card on file but he never got charged, and they obviously eventually went out of business.

I swapped Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for Wind Waker (the LE no less which came with OoT Master Quest) once upon a time and we never swapped back.

Also an ex-girlfriend presumably still has my copy of Skyward Sword and an Xbox 360 console.

Thanks for reminding me that someone now 'owns' my copy of OoT+Master Quest on GameCube because they never returned the disc >:(

This was FFVII for many years. It eventually went back home though.

Never got my gold cartridge Majora's Mask back though. I have the Collector's Edition and 3DS versions, but I still want that cartridge back.

Link Between Worlds

Now, before you judge, know that it was a mutual borrow situation. I lent out this girl my copy of Okamiden and she let me borrow the Zelda. Well, despite me reminding her 5 months latter and offering to give back her game whenever she wanted, she never seemed to want to give back Okamiden... and so I was left holding onto ALBW permanently now that I've lost contact with her. Luckily, I had the foresight not to lend her the case and manual, so all I did was rebuy a loose cart and put it back in my case.

Answer should be none cuz if this is you then you don't own it.

I've been on the reverse side of this like 7 times (all the same person) and needless to say he doesn't get rentals from me anymore.

Whoever has my Low G Man for NES that my brother let you borrow back in the 90s, please give it the fuck back.

~11 years ago (was 13 yrs old) - GBA: Lord of the Rings: The Two Thrones.

I remember bringing it back in a plastic bag along with 2 comics, but at a time that my friend wasn't comfortable with carrying it (maybe at school?), so I brought it back home. At least that's what I think happened, just feels so weird. He wasn't into any of it anymore so he didn't bother asking about them, and we didn't stay friends too long so I never had a chance to bring it up.

~ 9 years ago (was 15 yrs old) - PSP: Crash Tag Team Racing and Tony Hawk Pro Skater Underground 2

This was from my best from with whom we were gaming a lot for years, living in thz same building, ever since we were 5. But at that time he was falling out of love with gaming, due to WoW addiction, so he didn't care anymore. HE STILL HAS MY ORIGINAL SPYRO 2 SOMEWHERE AFTER 10+ YEARS, AAAHHH! Also my LocoRoco xD.

I should totally ask him about Spyro 2 again, it's been a running joke ever since and he lives next to my workplace :p

I would call you all scum for not returning games, but I suppose Link's Awakening passing through a couple of hands and randomly getting stuck with me counts. Still have it to this day.

Tomb Raider 3 for PS1, one of the only physical games I still have and got it from a friend cus he was helping me setup the memory card exploit on PS2.

FF9 for PS1 friend moved away game was really hard to find offline around that time wasn't exactly breaking my neck to remind him...game is way less rare these days tho I don't feel so bad.

Darkwing Duck, Smurfs and some Tiny Toons game for the Game Boy. I've owned those games since like 1998 or something, they aren't ever getting them back. But that was their fault for moving away.

A friend let me borrow Dead Rising on the 360 which he barely played and apparently hated. I wound up having a great time with it and it's still sitting on my shelf ~10 years later.

Return to Krondor. A guy at work lent it to me, then shortly afterwards had a nervous breakdown and left work, I've never seen him since. Though still keeping it safe in case I do.

Hey dude who has my copy of M.U.S.C.L.E. Wrestling for NES. I'd like it back. I'm done playing Tennis, as fun as it is, 30+ years is too long. Thx.

south park and the stick of truth. but to be fair he does still have my copy of wolfenstein new order, so i guess it was more of an undeclared trade? lol
