GENERAL INFO
  • PLAYERS: Offline 1, Online 2-4
  • MISSIONS: 12
  • ESTIMATED LENGTH: 10-12 Hours

UNIQUE FEATURES

// 1. UNIQUE ARSENAL OF TECHNOLOGY
  • Ghosts utilize several GADGETS based on military technology either currently in use in the field in a limited or in development. Optical Camo, Augmented Reality Vision, Sensor Grenades, Magnetic/X-Ray Vision, UAV Drones, DARPA Exacto Heat Seeking Rounds, etc.

// 2. DIVERSE LOCATIONS
  • Variety of ENVIRONMENTS should keep the campaign fresh and make it memorable. Terrain includes but is not limited to Jungles, Deserts, Urban Environments, Arctic Locales and Forests.

// 3. VARIETY OF PACING & PLAYSTYLES
  • Engagements vary between slower paced tactical situations where you have the opportunity to gather intel on your enemies and start the fight on your terms, to all out firefights and even a few full stealth missions where detection = Game Over. Mission design starts out somewhat linear as the game "teaches" you how to use all the game mechanics and tools and opens up to very wide open / non-linear environments as the game progresses.

// 4. INTELLIGENT SQUADMATE BEHAVIOR
  • Squad command system has been revamped to a more realistic communication system of designating targets rather than positioning your squadmates. When you designate a target your A.I. will attempt to get the safest line of sight without being spotted if you are not engaged in combat yet. You can also use this to designate targets to draw fire to allow flanking.

// 5. CIVILIANS MATTER
  • Civilians are present in all locations where it makes sense, such as urban, environments and villages. You will need to check your targets and avoid killing them. If you kill even one civilian while not in an "Engaged" state it will result in a Game Over, as this is considered cold-blooded murder. While engaged a few collateral damage casualties are acceptable (2 or 3).

// 6. GOOD ENEMY A.I.
  • A.I. moves from cover to cover, uses a variety grenades frequently, flanks and will aggressively try to rush or force you out of entrenched positions. There is also line of sight implementation for each enemy and intelligent reaction to threats. You can be seen up close even while using Optical Camo, and the drone can be seen and shot down if it gets too close for too long

// 7. OPTIONAL MISSION CHALLENGES
  • Each mission has several optional "Challenges" that encourage you to play and replay each scenario in different ways. Completing these challenges unlocks Russian guns for use in the Campaign. An examples of these challenges is: Complete the mission without causing any civilian casualties.

UNIQUE FEATURES

// 1. COVER SWAPPING
  • The cover system is that it has been tuned to be the fastest way to move from point A to point B to "encourage" players to move more tactically from cover to cover.

// 2. THE INTEL-LOOP
  • The Intel Loop is comprised of several tactics working alongside equipment to provide your team with positional intel on the enemy to provide you a strategic advantage.
  • Data Hacking can be performed on an enemy that is non-lethally taken down via either the Stun Gun or Stun-Claymore. After a successful Data Hack your team will be relayed positional info on all living members of the other team and they will appear as red silhouettes thru all solid objects on all of your teammate's HUDs
  • Other equipment can be used to gather intel on enemy positions including the UAV, UCAV, deployable 360 degree camera and sensor.
  • Counter measures are also available including Optical Camo, Decoy Grenades, Jammer as well as EMP grenades and launchers.

// 3. CONFIDENCE SYSTEM
  • When players are interacting with an objective, they will complete the interaction faster when their teammates are nearby providing protection. This happens automatically when a teammate is within range and includes different animations while interacting with the object.

// 4. COORDINATION SYSTEM
  • TAC-MAP: Map of the area you can display at any time.
  • COORDINATION MARKER: Players can tap the corresponding button to mark an area on the map for all players in the Fire Team to see.
  • COORDINATION DIAL: Hold the same button as the coordination marker to bring up a dial. The dial will have the players in your fire team, along with the objective. Highlight and select an option from the dial to place a line to the player or objective. It's basically a GPS.

CO-OP MODES

// 1. GUERRILLA MODE
  • PLAYERS: Offline 1-2, Online 2-4
  • MATCHMAKING: No
  • MAPS: 4
  • Wave based game mode in which you and your squad need to take over enemy HQ and defend it against assaults of increasing difficulty.
  • 50 WAVES: 1st Wave is a Stealth Wave where you need to quietly secure the HQ. Every 10th Wave is a "Boss" wave where usually a vehicle is involved. Base changes after the "Boss" wave.
  • SUPPLY DROPS: Supply Drops are made between waves with new, better weapons. You start out with weapons with iron sights and the drops include better more upgraded weapons to choose from as you progress thru the waves.
  • WAVE STREAK BONUSES: Each completed wave adds towards a wave streak bonus. These bonuses can be leveled up by "stacking" them instead of using them.
  • Radar – extend duration.
  • Invisibility – Grants player active camo even when running/standing.
  • Missile – Precision missile attack.
  • Turret – Place a sentry turret.
  • Air Strike – Air Strike on wide area of land.

ADVERSARIAL MODES

// GENERAL INFO

  • PLAYERS: 2-12
  • MAX TEAM SIZE: 6 vs 6
  • FACTIONS: Ghost(US) vs Bodark(RU). Each faction has unique weapons and loadouts
  • MAPS: 10
  • MATCHMAKING: Yes

// 1. CONFLICT
  • Conflict is objective-based team deathmatch where most of the score will come from completing objectives. If teams are equally matched in objective points, it will come down to kills, but if a team with terrible Kill/Death ratios manages to complete more objectives, stat-padding means little and the more combat-effective team will still lose out in the end.

// 2. SABOTEUR
  • Each team competes to locate and carry the bomb to the enemy base. The trick is that the carrier of said explosive device moves slow and can only use their sidearm. However, there are a few brutal takedowns that can be made while carrying the briefcase which always make for highlight reel moments.

// 3. SIEGE
  • Your team must either attack or defend a critical location. Defenders have a few short moments to prepare before the attacking force is unleashed. Every shot counts; you've only got one life to achieve your objective. Teams switch roles after each round, best of three wins.
  • A homage to the original Ghost Recon where there are no respawns. If you die, you’re a spectator.

// 4. DECOY
  • Decoy plays similar to Conflict, although it's a little more goal-oriented. The attacking team needs to figure out which of three potential command posts is the one they're looking for. When they've exhausted or avoided the decoys, they make the final push to another control point. Teams switch roles after each round, best of three "

// PRIVATE/UNRANKED MATCHES
  • Private / Unranked Matches are also available, with the following differences:
  • All weapons, weapon attachments and equipment are unlocked for all players
  • Teams can be unbalanced so 1 vs 11 is possible
  • Other options are available for changing

CLASSES

// 1. RIFLEMAN
  • Uses Assault Rifles and Light Machine Guns.
  • His improved armor can sustain more hits to torso and Light Machine Guns are the only guns that create suppression
  • Only class that can wield Frag and Incendiary Grenades, and deploy an Ammo Box to resupply ammo and grenades.

// 2. ENGINEER
  • Uses Shotguns and Personal Defense Rifles.
  • His Scope Detector provides a warning when enemies are scoped in and aiming at him.
  • Only class that can wield Sensor and Decoy grenades, pilot remote controlled drones (UAV and UCAV), and can use other unique equipment such as: Field Computer, Jammer, and Sentry Turret.

// 3. SCOUT
  • Uses Sniper Rifles and Submachine Guns.
  • His optical camo activates while motionless, providing near-full concealment, but disengages when shot, suppressed, moving quickly or firing.
  • Only class that can wield Flashbang grenades, and set Claymores and Stun Claymores

PROGRESSION

  • CLASS SPECIFIC PROGRESSION: Each class levels up independently of one another (Rifleman, Engineer, Scout).
  • MAX LEVEL: Each class has 50 levels to achieve with an alternate build slot as a reward for reaching Level 50
  • LEVEL UP REWARD: Each time you level up with a class you are provided 1 point for each Faction to purchase either an attachment for one weapon or a piece of equipment. You can try each attachment out in the Gunsmith shooting range before deciding to purchase.
  • UNLOCKABLES: Every 4 Levels are are provided an unlock in the form of a new weapon, attachment, grenade, equipment or character customization item

Arctic Strike DLC available on July 17th and Double XP

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/690238-Arctic-Strike-DLC-available-on-July-17th-and-Double-XP

The first downloadable content pack for Ghost Recon Future Soldier will be available on July 17th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In anticipation of the DLC and in appreciation of our enthusiastic community, we are enabling double XP beginning today and lasting until the DLC launches on the 17th.

The Arctic Strike DLC extends your Ghost Recon Future Soldier Experience, bringing you from the streets of Moscow to the far reaches of the Arctic. It includes additional multiplayer maps, a new adversarial gametype, a new Guerrilla Mode co-op map, six additional weapons to provide for even more diversity in your arsenal, and more: see below.

Stockade, a new adversarial gametype

Stockade is an exciting and fun objective-based adversarial gametype, where the situation can be turned around in seconds.

· When players die they go to a respawn queue - the "Stockade".
· When a player gets a kill, one dead teammate gets freed from the Stockade.
· Completing an objective frees all of their teammates from the Stockade.

The overall objective in Stockade is simple: eliminate the entire enemy team before time expires. In the event of a tie, teamwork points are used to determine the winner. Stockade is playable on all 13 multiplayer maps.

Sweet!

I had a lot of fun with the beta. Hope they sorted a lot of the issues.

Anyway, got to see if some of the buds are getting this so we can co-op!

Subscribed for campaign and co-op goodness. Looking very forward to this one.

I'm curious about the campaign co-op. Is it drop-in, drop-out? And do co-op players just replace one of the in-game allies? Or is it a switch between solo+AI or co-op? I guess what I'm wondering if its me and one other player will we still have one or two allied AI in the campaign?

always 4 Ghosts, no matter what combination of humans and A.I.

and I don't think it's drop-in, drop-out while in-progress, if that's what you are asking

Good to know and sounds great even without drop-in, drop-out.

Nice OP btw. Not too minimal and also not a bloated mousewheel breaker. It's warm porridge right.

Also a big thumbs up to the civilian system and optional challenges in campaign. I also hope the AI is as improved as the OP says. That right there is the key to replayability and the long term enjoyment of guerrilla mode.

Had fun with the console beta, but will be waiting till June for PC version(
If I can pull myself away from Diablo3
).

Interested in the PC version, if i can do the campaign in LAN co-op.
Also, can you customize your character in the main campaign?

OP is missing the picture of Coco's massive ass power.

Because that's what this game is all aboot.

Other than that, I will get this game sooner or later. But preferably later.

Interesting to see how much of the original Russian campaign is left. HAWX2 and Ghost Recon Wii both revolved around it and were meant to complement GRFS before it got delayed.

I hope we see some PC footage before launch so I can make my decision. I know we won't and if we do, it won't tell us if it's optimized or not, but at least seeing it in motion means it's real...lol

That short film has me more hyped for this game than anything else this summer.

LOVED the beta, but my god, the SP campaign (of what I've seen) looks fucking dreadful. It is so ridiculously "hand-holdy" and sleep-inducing.

I hope this doesn't end up being the case, but I do get a bit of a Splinter Cell Conviction vibe off of everything I have seen of the campaign.

I'm actually really excited about the Gunsmith mode. I love customizing and upgrading things. I hope it's really in depth.

Me too, customization makes the game and charcter you play much more personal. I hope they don't allow you to make complete insane and non-realistic mods to the guns though, like in Army of Two.

The beta got my hopes up. Have the ps3 version preordered and unless it's horrible, I will pick up the pc version as well when it drops.

ps3 for split screen coop with friends and PC for online and proper controls.

Me and my friends still play rainbow six vegas 2 all the time, hopefully an proper successor for our split screen gaming has been found.

Well, having played exclusively as a Rifleman in the beta, there were a couple of assault rifles that wouldn't take all attachments, i.e. the AN-91 not being being able to fit a bipod, etc, so it's entirely dependent on the gun and its functionality in reality, I'm guessing.

The customization is definitely one of the selling points. It's awesomely in-depth and the simple inclusion of a shooting range to try out each and every attachment, free of any in-game charge, is such a nice touch.

Oh hell yes. More shooters should have these. Its always welcome.

Is there any info about where to get those Editions?

I know at least one of them is for Australia and New Zealand eyes only... thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info, never got to try the beta!

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Beta was fun, but they need to fix the maps and modes a small bit for me to consider it. Along with the leveling system. I feel the "hardcore" are going to have a HUGE item tactical advantage more than "experience" advantage that'll give them the ability to stomp all over new players.

10 maps is a little to thin for my liking, holding back TDM post launch is another silly move imo

otherwise, i cant wait.

hopefully this has a good & long lasting Multiplayer community

Speaking of the Gunsmith and other features/mechanics that should exist in more games, I'm pretty excited to finally be able to shoot someone wih a silenced weapon and catch their limp body before it hits the ground. Ballin' as balls. That hasn't been in any other game, has it?

Ulitmate and Limited are Canada Only
Collector's is Australia & New Zealand Only
The rest you should be able to get in any country I believe

I had all the info in the OP but ran out of room towards the end and had to cut it all out

Going with the 360 version for the superior online community. Even though the PC version looks insanely good, the 360 versions of Ghost Recon's and Rainbow Six's always have amazing communities(Everyone on mics, large groups of people playing for years, and no shitty 15 year olds yelling "fuck" every five minutes)

Can't wait for next week....

I will pick it up when the price drops. I enjoyed playing multiplayer but the Ubi servers were killing me.

Is this a TPS or FPS?

This looks pretty fun. The commercial looked kind of cool!

I like the future setting. Multiplayer looks like it can be a lot of fun.

Getting this now instead of Dragon's Dogma due to Capcom's usual BS but I have a question about the online co-op. You list the online as 2-4 with no matchmaking. Does that mean you can only play online against friends?

It's a third person shooter.

That changes my perception of the game. I thought it was like Rainbow Six.

A engaging TPS game would be pretty sweet. I don't think I ever played a really good hardcore military TPS this gen. Uncharted and Gears 3 is fun but never a military-styled combat.

I just hope it isn't standard and tame. I hope it's intense and fast-paced.

Haven't played the beta but the response seems to be positive. I'm interested for sure.

the co-op modes (campaign and guerrilla) have no matchmaking, so you need friends

the adversarial modes (conflict, saboteur, decoy and siege) have matchmaking like any other shooter

What do you mean? While I'm sure they changed a bunch it looks like a more polished GRAW with different equipment.

I've not played GRAW (or it's been that many years since I have), but the beta was very close-quarters in nature and it worked well.

I have a strong feeling that - much like, say, Gears of War 3 - the SP/campaign and adversarial MP in GR:FS will basically feel like two completely different games.

I watched a developer walk-through on GT the other day and it was insultingly boring. You know that 'mark & execute' mechanic in SC: Conviction that no one liked? Well, it's back and you can designate a total of 4 targets now! COOL, YO. The 7 minute demo boiled down to 'cloak > highlight enemies > press a button > move up > repeat'. And I'm not condemning the game to being comprised solely of that, but hey, it was a developer trying to show off the game.

It'll be a CoD campaign; I hate CoD campaigns.

I hate most of em, but co-op does have a tendency to make everything better.

Maybe I'm unusual here though, since I really dug SC: Conviction. I even wanted a few aspects of Conviction to carry over to the next Ghost Recon (UI, objective and cinematic stylings), but mark-execute really isn't one of those things. You're expected in GRAW to know how to aim and to take down multiple foes quickly through skill, not a shortcut. Although keep in mind that GRAW 2 had some of these elements, where you'd mark a target and have one or more of your AI squadmates take them down.

I really enjoyed the beta on ps3, the multiplayer is like a mix between MGO and counter-strike.

This game is definitely on my radar but I will only buy after the internet has reviewed it.

Beta was great. Me and a friend who used to play GR and GRAW played it and had a blast.

I just don't understand why this game took so long to make and why it took them so long to make another mainline Ghost Recon game. Five years and 2 months ago was when GRAW 2 was released. WTF?

I can sort of understand the long wait for a new Rainbow Six game as the last one seemed like it had an identity crisis.

What do you mean? While I'm sure they changed a bunch it looks like a more polished GRAW with different equipment.

gameplay was sped up, actual sprint(similar to roadie run in gears), no lean and peak system, the biggest map in the game(mills) probably just a medium size map in previous ghost recon, guns handle like crap(to me they come off feeling like uncharted), no selective fire rate, no custom hosted rooms, to list a few.

It just didn't feel like ghost recon to me. Felt more like a third person rainbow six vegas/mixed with call of duty, but this is just my opinion and is the reason why i cancelled my pre-order.

You should try it out yourself. There has been mixed feelings amongst the ghost recon community. Some people enjoy it, others like myself hate it. redbox it or something for a day and see if you like it or not.
